The Isolated Blurt BDSM Thread

Where on earth did I hear that my student health insurance extends to 12/31/11?? Because it doesn't. It's only until 7/14/11. Which means it's over. Fucking fuck. Hopefully my wife can get me on her insurance soon. I have enough meds to last me a little while, I think, but this is SO NOT GOOD. I wish I remembered who I talked to or where I heard that it would extend until the end of the year. Somebody told me that even though it starts in summer, it technically goes by calendar year, so I would be covered until December. The insurance company's website does NOT reflect that. Fucking fucking fuck!!

Check out www.needymeds.com . There are programs that will make sure you get your meds for either free or very reduced cause. Needymeds will direct you to the right organization for your particular med.

Thanks guys! I think my wife's insurance has rolling enrollment, not sure, she is going to check tomorrow. I am okay with meds FOR NOW but that could change, so thanks for the link! One of them is like $700/mo out of pocket...no can do...hah.

I hear you. I have a med that I believe is around $3,000 a month. Oddly enough whenever I switch insurances it takes me months to get it approved. :p

Jesus christ that's insane. It just blows my mind >.<

It's because it's very new (I was actually part of the study on it), and it's only for people that everything else isn't working for. Although, what I used to be one (remicaid) was pretty spendy, too. It was about $3,000, too, but it was every two months instead of monthly.

blech. you'd think they'd give you a discount considering you were on the study :p

Blurt; I haven't been sleeping yet because, seriously, I've been nonstop petting my rabbit. but he's so content!!! but now he's gone to eat, so I'll probably be able to sleep now :p

My. Fucking. Hip. HURTS. :mad::(

*Digs around in closet* *Tosses you a bottle from the Pain Killer Stash*

don't use too much, though. I'm almost out. I need to hurt myself again or something :p

((For the record, the last statement is tongue in cheek. I don't take tons of painkillers all the time or anything. I've just hurt myself a few times over the past couple years but not really needed the painkillers I've been given. However, I do get SEVERE sinus head aches in the middle of the night that they're a GODSEND for))

LOL, thanks! I'm all out.

(And you don't have to explain to me. I've fallen off enough horses [and suffered enough migraines] to know that sometimes you REALLY need a damn stash of the things. 'Specially when you don't have health insurance, like yours truly.)

I got it for free for several years. lol
ahhh. well that's nice at least. They need to figure out what the funny pain-thing is that runs in my family so we can get free meds from being in studies :p Or rather, so my brother can. They still don't know what his/our? problem is, but he lives his life in a lot of neuromuscular pain :(

I'm assuming that fibromyalgia has been ruled out?

for him, definitely. He's got actual muscle problems as well. Muscle spasms, cramps, stutter... They actually were checking for cerebral palsy first, then Wilson's, but so far it's not anything. Right now they're looking at dystonia or Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, which would make a bit of sense since his identical twin had his GI just...STOP on him one day (it started again). Luckily, the other brother is healthier, but he's always been a bit healthier and more active. But the brother that's worse off has a lot of pain and needs to walk with a cane some times.

My mom has an actual "fibromyalgia" diagnosis, and I mirror a lot of her symptoms, but we don't think it's actual fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia pain is usually stimulated by pressure; it's a huge indicator. However, pressure relieves our pain. I actually keep a set of stable bandages from the barn here in my room for nights when I have a limb go off on me. I can wrap it and by the time it loosens and stops working well, I'm asleep. And now i have a rabbit on my chest. He's gone now. Despite our response to pressure, the PATTERN mirrors fibromyalgia. We have a defined set of triggers that will set us off.

Anyway, it's something strange going on. They haven't been able to figure it. The boys are still a total mystery. Mom and I are a mystery as well, although I'm starting to wonder if it's not linked to the subclinical-type hypothyroid problems that are becoming evident in the maternal line. It'd probably help all of us if I went into a doctor for my problems, but they're just not very evident, so I don't think it'd help the data pool much right now.

No rolling enrollment. Well la di frickin da.

I'm sorry :(

Blurt: Everytime he manages to get under the bed, the stupid rabbit then spends the next several days trying again. *sighs* I'll have to distract him with a treat-stuffed Kong for a while now :( he's gunna get FAT XD

Yikes. *hugs* Well, you're in the right group - a lot of us have chronic health problems.

lol I've noticed :p

heh, I suddenly feel the urge to see if there's some correlation between chronic health issues and being a pyl. And then contemplate the result of that correlation. But I won't subject people to that :p

I asked that question once, LOL.

Actually, no, I think it was more like, "What's the correlation between people with autoimmune diseases and being kinky?" But close enough!

It's been asked. There isn't one. lol

I have to be at the airport at 6:30 am which means leaving home at 5:30am. It should be illegal to be awake and speaking a vague form of english at that time of the morning.

Seconded, they really need to make the wee early hours of the morning come later in the day ;)
