I have to admit I'm a little jealous that I have not experienced as much, nor enjoyed my life as much, as you obviously have done... but I don't begrudge you an instant of it. You've earned your joy.

Thanks all. The only word I have is that he is now stable. Nigh on miraculous given that I watched the paramedics perform CPR for over 30 minutes. They also shocked him four times. When the ambulance left, they still didn't have a pulse. So...wow.

And I still don't know what happened. He's a very healthy 74 year old. He had just finished his doubles match. He and his partner were standing around talking, having some water, etc, etc. Then he just...collapsed and stopped breathing. Thankfully we have a good, level headed group with lots of emergency first aid training between us. (If you don't have your *current* CPR ticket go get it!!!) CPR was administered almost immediately, paramedics arrived within 2 minutes.

No need for jealously, SW. I've had my share of disappointment and heartache and struggle. I'm just glad I didn't let other people push me in directions I didn't want to go. The choices I've made have all come with costs but I can live with that because they were my choices.
