The Isolated Blurt BDSM Thread

sorry

I guess I should have read the first post of this thread before joining in.

My isolated blurt: Damn...shouldn't there be a limit to how many things I can feel guilty about at the same time?

I stopped at the local coffee shop this morning (still on the road - "local" as in local to where we're staying). There was a poster advertising a beauty pageant: "Diamonds and Divas!". The age range was...0-18years.

This grosses me out.

Beauty pageants in general turn my stomach, but babies, toddlers and children...? How is it that these things continue to go on? It's weird and disturbing to dress babies and children up like adults, (usually with a healthy dose of sexualization from what I've seen), and then parade them around in front of real adults. Everything about these contests screams pedophile to me. Ick.

The photo on the poster was of a baby, who couldn't have been more than a year old, arranged in a "glamorous" pose, surrounded by furs and "diamonds". I am still creeped out just thinking about that strange, unnatural image.

Ever seen the show Toddlers and Tiaras? Beyond disturbing. And yet, the couple of times I've seen it, I could not look away from the train wreck. It's the moms. The naked crazy projection of the moms. In that sense; it's a fascinating psychological study.

Ever revolting, but fascinating.

I'm getting really tired of walking into a room where both of my sisters, who I feel are highly intelligent young women, are sitting and watching that godawful goddamn show. It's not even like watching a train wreck anymore, it's just a little sad.

Can anyone say Jon Benet Ramsey!

There was an article in the news here a few weeks back, about an uproar re: pageants in the US, because there was a little girl, and for her bit she was doing a Dolly Parton impression.

Which probably would have only been a regular level of bad, if it's wasn't for the fake butt and fake boobs she was also wearing to look the part.

That shit creeped me out way more than the idea of pageants ever had before.

Actually, the "Dolly Parton" girl was on that show. I can't even watch that shit. My blood pressure goes sky high and I want to reach through the tv and snatch these mothers by their throats.

It is sad.

I agree with Keroin! How the hell is this shit allowed. I try not to be judgmental of others, but when it comes to children, I can't control myself. I have no respect for mothers that do this to their children. Honestly, I feel it is a form of child abuse!

I would kill my sisters if they even had a thought about doing this to my nieces.

Oh, come on, it's all about the welfare of the girls. They just looooove it.

Oh, hell, ruby... don't worry about the bolded part. I think we broke the first post's rule(s) on the first page of the thread, and it's well over 36,000 posts now. The whole "isolated" thing was an utter failure from the word go, but the responses *to* those blurts is what's made this perhaps the most popular and long-lived thread in the forum.

I'm doing this stupid self evaluation form for my upcoming yearly review. They want me to list my accomplishments.

Blech.

Actually analyzing all this crap is going to drive me to drink... and it isn't even noon.
That analysis? What a pita. And I'm pretty sure they didn't give you enough paper with their silly form to actually have space for your accomplishments.

I still have enough paper lying around to loan you a ream or two if you're a bit short. ;)

On the tail end of rough spin me about like a hurricane kinda week, in the lull and silence of my morning I suddenly find that I feel lighter...you know like I have flubber stuck to my heels. Feels good.

I've just realised that when I'm hormonal, I don't get angry. I just get super emotional and weepy and clingy.

I don't know which is worse!

The stupid thing's finally done; I just need to plug my word doc. into the form provided... It took three pages (12pt, single space Times New Roman).

I hate self-evaluations. Hatehatehatehatehate!

Surviving a huge mishap with me, my car, and raging very cold flood waters and hypothermia taught me some things.
One: take a different way to work even if it takes forever
Two: Firemen are very very good hearted caring and unafraid people
Three: My Daddies help me. They didnt get angry or mean or hurt my feelings when I told them what happened. Daddy E came out in his PJs to come get me at 6am on his day off and Daddy J checked in a bunch of times to see if i was doing ok.
Four: My Daddies love me and protect me and make me feel so important that sometimes I feel like my heart is gonna explode from all the happiness that makes me feel. I never thought there were people like them in the whole entire world and I am glad I am theirs

QFT..

I feel rather like a dog who's just caught its tail. well NOW what do I do with it XD

*giggles* I've topped women before. ;)

Blurt: I'm still buzzed over passing my phone number to a band member. I really have no delutions of it being used, but I can't help but get all giggly every time I look at the phone.

Google is your friend...a friend I hate right now...but still my friend.

QFT and so is knowing how to access online court records if your area has an option for such. Online, you usually can't find out the full nature of cases against people, but you can find out what cases exist. And a lot of courts, for example, will code cases numbers to let you know if they are criminal, domestic violence, divorce, civil, etc.

I was able to find out the full information on this one....unfortunately...

I have heard of that show. I will never watch it. Not so much because of the disgusting content but because my hackles go up when I know someone is trying to manipulate me. The producers of that show know how most of the population feels about these pageants and the participants and they are banking on that "train wreck" effect. Ratings, ratings, ratings.

I won't play their game.

I have two daughters and I get annoyed when people go on and on forever, about how cute and pretty they are, as if that was the most important thing about them.
Those pageants seem like the ultimate version of that.

I think there's nothing wrong with telling a child they are attractive, if the motive is to make them feel good about themselves. But, yeah, parading them around and instilling the idea that "pretty" is quantifiable and that if they fall short of the mark they will "lose" is flat-out abusive.

I must still qualify as a noob around here because I've never seen you this bothered before.

Oh get me talking about animal welfare or the declining global fish stocks or the wholesale neglect of the health of the world's oceans and you'll see me plenty bothered. ;)

It turns my stomach. Make up on little girls, teeth implants, threats of plastic surgery. What message are they encouraging?

Oh just the same message most of the beauty industry sends us every day. YOU are not good enough but WE ($$$$$$) can help.

When my girls are born? No fucking way.

Good.

It's all creepy but that is like a level 10 creepy. Blech.

It is. That's what boggles me. I've yet to actually meet a real life person who isn't grossed out by these pageants and yet...they're still going on. WTF?

Yeahhhh... Here's a *new* article about "Toddlers & Tiaras" just in the last couple of days: "T&T Shocker: Girl Dresses as Hooker Julia Roberts!" It includes video, but I threw up in my mouth a little bit at the thought of playing it, so I didn't.

Well...there is at least one pageant routine out there worth watching...:D

Little Miss Sunshine

I'm trying a new pizza out tonight. BBQ chicken. Had them take the onions off and add pineapple just to be different. Well, that and I really like pineapple. Wonder what it's going to taste like?

Met some new, nice people on here the last couple days. Really looking forward to getting to know them better. And I'm glad I'm back in here more often of late. I've been missing everyone. Didn't realize how much until I came back. Will have to try to not go away for so long again.
