Apparently, I am a person not to make an enemy of. It was meant as an insult, but I find that I'm 100% ok with this.

Hot diggity!

Hunny's application to a new job was accepted, he gets to go take the PT test Nov 1! Prayers: phase one- answered!

Now you go and get your all-dolled-up ass over there, just as you resolved earlier. :rose:

*giggles*

I did, and I had a blast.

I passed out a few cards like planned. Talked to quite a few people, was hit on most of the night (including one very obviously out of place guy who decided to try his luck on me after being shut down by a crossdresser. Second question out of his mouth was "what's your fetish?" and the third sentence began with him grabbing my leash, at which point I walked away.), was bitten by some random chick (she left lovely welts) and got to try a violent wand.

OMG I NEED ONE OF THOSE!

I smelt burnt flesh for about an hour, but the dominatrix who used it on me was very caring, and a bitch about it all at the same time. It was a wonderful experience, and she said she'd look me up (gave her a card) she might do some business with me. The feeling of electricity through pierced nipples is very strange. And every once in a while she'd hit one of the steel bones in my corset and it would send a little jolt all down the length.

Wenchie like. Wenchie want more. :cattail:

I've never been to this place alone before, but I really did have fun, and I'm not afraid to do it again.

It's riled up emotions like this that make me wish I could run.

I feel like doing it, but I wouldn't make it to the corner. lol

Is it bad to refuse to work for someone because he's such a pain in the fucking ass? I mean, we're over our heads in work with huge deadlines looming. We have actual paying customers to do work for. This asshole has been fucking around for a month. I really don't have time to hold his hand. There are only two of us and only so many ticks on the clock.

I don't know what to do. :(

One of the perks of being your own boss is being able to fire clients. We have absolutely refused to work with clients for a variety of reasons. The way L and me figure it, if you have to do ALL the work, have no sick pay, no stat holidays, work 12 or more hours in a day sometimes seven days a week, etc, etc...the least you deserve is the right to choose your clients.

Put it nicely. Explain that you have other commitments. Refer him to someone else if you want. But don't feel bad. Boundaries are good and your time is VALUABLE.

I think I'm going to do just this. It was what I was thinking, anyway, but I needed someone(s) to tell me I wasn't crazy for thinking it.

Thank you. :rose:

No worries. (I figured you knew what to do all along anyway ;))

Glad to hear work is chugging along, BTW!

You're crazy, luv, but not for thinking that. :p

And yes, the (as K put it) ability to fire clients IS one of the *big* bennies of being self-employed. Sometimes, one *has* to fire a client in order to retain one's sanity or ability to work for the people who don't drive you crazy.

Thanks! The SEO gods are smiling down. I just haven't decided yet if this is a good thing or a bad thing....

Oh, yes, I'm legitimately nuts. This just makes it worse. :p

your time is VALUABLE.

Exactly. You need to figure out what you expect to be paid by the hour. When it comes to a point where you're in the red, it's time to either ask for more money or to quit. for instance if you are paid $10/hour and the job pays $100 then it shouldn't take more than ten hours. If this job takes you 15 hours, then you are $50 in the negative - this is no way to run a business. At the point you're at ten hours, and work still needs to be done, you either need to figure out if you're charging too little or decide to fire your customer.

How come we say "necrophiliac" but "paedophile"?

Why not "paedophiliac"? Or "necrophile"?

I need to get out more.

I seem to be getting caught up on my chores. This would be good but in the last couple of months every time I've gotten anywhere NEAR caught up something has happened that's put me behind.

I had SUCH a good past 24 hrs. Crazy fun party last night (good mood+drunk=booty dancing, which is rare for me), then this morning I crawled out of bed and went trail riding with some friends. It was EPIC. So much fun and our horses were SO good. The trail was surprisingly hazardous and all our middle to old aged and out of shape horses toughed it out and got through it. Then we had burgers. Such an awesome day ^_^

Downside, my teddy-bear hamster is definitely getting OLD. His skin is in HORRIBLE condition and he's not quite himself any more. but he doesn't seem to be in PAIN or discomfort...so I'm not going to worry about it. It's certainly not enough to ruin my day ^_^
