Bull fighters protect a cowboy once he has been bucked off. And what they do is very similar to matadors. They call the attention of the bull to themselves and away from the (possibly injured) cowboy on the ground. There is an annual award called "The Man in the Can" and it is awarded to the bullfighter who, among other things, has been voted by the bull riders as the most effective and by stock contractors as most respectful to their bulls.

On the issue of bull riders as a species: I have met some who are genuine, humble, respectful men; I've also met some who were egotistical, juvenile braggarts. Sadly I've encountered more of the latter than the former.

I have been finding honesty is a hard thing to find in general.

I am completely open and honest with what I would like, and what I'm willing to accept, but yet there are still those out there that try to promis me the world and profess a love for me that I have no desire in returning.

I want a buddy who I can fuck. Some one I can go see a movie with and then blow in the parking lot before dinner, go home fuck like rabbits play some x-box then fuck until we pass out.

Seriously, I don't think that's a lot to ask. I don't mind a friend with benifits relationship, but I want the friend part as well.
