That reminds of when I took a Black American Literature class. The professor--a nice elderly gentleman, who is also the English department head--was talking about slavery on the first day of class. He said something like, "I mean, who would really want to be a slave?" The rest of the class murmured and shook their heads. I had to hide my grin. A friend who sat next to me leaned over and said, "Admit it. If you were a slave, you'd run away once a week, just for the floggings." :D

Yes, I realize it's a different kind of slavery than the BDSM variety. I'm not trying to belittle anybody. It was just a humorous moment.

My blurt: I think all the fuckbags in the Financial Aid department should be put at the mercy of our favorite collection of Lit sadists. I hardly ever lose my temper, but I blew up at those ignorant, incompetent idiots today. If my money's not here to pay for my classes by tomorrow (the last day to pay) and my classes are dropped because of THEIR fuck-up, there will be hell to pay.

*whimpers*

So I started getting a sore throat yesterday, but figured it was just my allergies. No such luck. :( I was up and down all night with my throat, cause I CANNOT, for the life of me, figure out where I put the motrim. Plus I had weird dreams about the JD Robb book I read before I went to sleep. Then I was up at 7 am so I could drive to my humira appointment. I was late - fucking inconsiderate school bus drivers.

I was gonna stop at the school and get the supplies list on the way home, but I was really struggling to stay awake so I came right home. Took an hour and a half nap. Enough to keep me awake, but not enough to make me not tired. I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep much longer, anyway, cause my THROAT FUCKING HURTS. A, my sweetheart of a 9 year old, had a peach smoothy ready for me when I woke up. Thank God.

Then I left, did some minor grocery shopping, went and got my daughterbyanotherwoman from school. Evidently they changed their release time, and her mom didn't feel the need to clue me in. So I sat for 20 minutes, and then ANOTHER 20 when the kids were late getting out? Problem? K got out at 3:15, which is when I was supposed to be at K and K's school, picking them up. (Yes, their's a lot of K's in my life.) So I was 15 minutes late picking them up. Then I ran over to my kids school (they don't start till thursday), to get another copy of the supply list - which only one teacher in the whole school (granted that's only five classrooms) had. Made several copies of the list, for the other ditzy mom's who'll come looking for it. Ran over and met A's teacher, went and met B's teacher, went to leave and realized that I could find my keys. Finally found them and went home. But I think i'm starting to run a temp, cause my freaken elbows hurt.

If I have strep I'm going to be SO freaken pissed.

Thanks. I don't suppose you know where I put the motrim?

Try the refrigerator. Miss Head-In-The-Clouds (me) has a bad habit of leaving shit there when she's not paying attention.

I'm sorry you feel icky, gracie. I hope you feel much better soon. :rose:

What a silly place to put it! :p (I already looked. hehe) To tell the truth I had it when we left the hotel - it was in my purse. It is not in my purse anymore, or in my car. As far as I can tell it's disappeared off the face of the earth. I'd go buy some, but I have all six kids right now. Frankly, my idea of hell is all six kids in a grocery store together.

I'm fucking COLD. I can't put anymore clothes on, and I'm still COLD.

If I figure out who got me sick, I swear to god I will rip out their throat.

I got myself elected senate representative for the campus GLBT organization. Everybody was congratulating me and stuff. I am just like...huh? I won? How did that happen?

Okay folks... some good news and some bad news, regarding my mom's breast cancer surgery:

Good:

When they removed the tumour, they got the whole thing.

Bad:

The cancer has already spread to her lymph nodes. Two of the four lymph nodes they biopsied, show cancer. So, instead of being able to do just radiation, as they had hoped, she will have to do four months of chemo, and then radiation on top of that. She'll lose her hair, she'll be off of work for six months, and she's ... we... are upset. But, we've got to be strong, y'know?

*sigh*

I just wanted to share with you all, and to ask for your continued prayers. I do so much appreciate it.
