It's only crazy because it's talked about but nothing is done. What is that quote..something about crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

I just today was watching a news show...something like cnn but a talk format where they were discussing teachers wanting permission to bring guns for their own protection. Um...does anyone else see that this is getting more than a little out of control?

As for the nothing was done...yep...not surprised in the least.

I agree with you about the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I am/was a teacher, and I can see that it's fear that's problably urging these teachers to want to carry guns, but I do NOT think that is the answer.....at all!!! I think it first has to start at home, and i think that schools and other people of authority need to PAY ATTENTION and take it seriously when a student starts behaving in an "abnormal" way and/or making threats of violence. I think there needs to be more security guards/police available on campus, and as much as I hate this idea, I think that it may be a good idea to have those security X-ray machines like at airports.....at least until a better solution is determined. There are so many other things that need to be done to help these kids from going off the deep-end, so to speak, but until those services are in place, then we should be thinking about how to protect the other students in the school.

This just makes me so incredibly sad.

Halloween is an EVIL holiday, and I fully believe it should be removed from observance.

Evil, I say ..... too many damn bags of candy to choose from. I just came home with Kraft Caramels, Heath Bars, Snickers minis, KitKat minis, Nerds, and M&Ms. Pure EVIL!!!

They've always over-reacted to the people who arne't doing anything, while ignoring the ones who are. Another example those kids (like the five year old) who're getting in trouble for 'sexual harrassment', but they're still missing the ones who're actually doing it. Or the number of kids who's parents aren't abusing them, who are taken into custody, compared to the ones who are being abused and are ignored.

As for airport securty, my cousin Christina (very english last name), who looks like a common American, etc etc is put through airport security searches EVERY TIME she flies, and that's going on something like 20 times flying (the first time she flew, and had her luggage searched she was 14). Random, my ass. she's on a list somewhere, for some reason no one understands.

My back itches occassionally. Normal, right? Well, I keep a back scratcher near my desk. Back itched a few minutes ago, and the scratcher was nowhere to be seen. Hey, rattan cane's on the desk, so I grab that. I try to find the itch and go back to reading. Well, I have a cane in my hand, pure reflex takes over and I realise that I'm trying to pop that itch with the cane. Weird.

Killed the itch though. Killed it dead.
