This is yet another reason why I do not live where you live. The primary reason, actually.

Temperate climates are good. They're your friend.

K got a job offer in Alaska. I told him that the bible is wrong, hell is not full of fire, it's covered in SNOW!

Hey, I just signed into YIM and wanted to let anyone who's worried know that (a) most of the flooding is near the coast and Portland isn't close enough for it to be an issue. And (b) Foster Rd is the only place that's really having issues in Portland and neither I, nor chicklet or jadefirefly live on foster. Barely. Last year I lived on foster. :p

I don't mind cold. I like it, in fact. In contained, measurable doses. When you have two seasons, Cool, and fuck-I'm-Dying Cold, I don't need to live there. Same way with places like Vegas. Too goddamned hot. Yeah, I'm a wimp, I don't want it too cold or too hot. Whatever. I like to roll the windows down when I drive. Can't do that if I live in HELL.

Parts of the maritimes are absolutely gorgeous in the summer (PEI, for example). These pics suggest that you live a tad north of there. :D

Fuck it. I gained SEVEN FUCKING POUNDS inthe last two weeks. I'm just gonna go on a liquid diet, I always lose weight. I'm absofuckinglutley DONE with this. I'm at an all time weight high, and I DON'T FUCKING EAT THAT MUCH.

between the snow that we got this past weekend and what fell today we have about 2 feet on the ground.

I like snow it's pretty and I don't even mind shoveling it, I like the workout, but its the bitter fucking cold that I cannot tolerate. Tonight it is suppose to get to -10 F with wind chills down to about -25.

Give me a place that I can have snow but the temp stays around 30 and I would be very happy.

Seldom gets below 10 degrees here. Winds most of the time ok, even in the winter. You can move here, and i will move down south somewhere. Deal?? ;)

Yay, I am finally getting a spark of enthusiasm for my trip to Oz in the New Year. All I needed was to talk to my daughter and hear her excitement and plans for my visit and I was motivated, booking a car, listing what I need to remember to take, arranging to finally pick up my ticket which has been sitting for weeks waiting for me. :nana:
