The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXVII: You're Welcome, Fuckers

Glad I canceled my card but I still wish I knew who was trying to charge my card. :cautious:
Ive had several accounts of mine hacked. From email to credit cards, banking card and even identity. All for the same reasons, massive data breaches. I cant count how many times ive gotten that letter saying my data has been compromised. The 1st time it was from my employer. Somehow the railroad got hacked and all the employees info was stolen. My company has over 36,000 employees. This was in the early 2000s. Im pretty sure my bad luck can be traced to that particular breech.

Ive always been careful about passwords and cookies, that alone hasnt stopped it. Ive had many different sevices that track my data and that hasnt stopped it. Ive been using a vpn before i really knew what a vpn was. All in all, it happens...

The one i really want to know, is the person who stole my debit card and charged $6000 worth of guitar luthier equipment from StewMac.. Looking at what they purchased with my money was impressive. I think we'd probably get along and have a lot in common. No matter how hard i tried to find out, there wasnt "a person" responsible. It was a cloud of accounts all using my info to purchase everything in small little bites. Its kind of incredible the web they set up to hide behind.

Mostly, i really wonder what they were going to do with 10 neck jigs.. Must have a hell of a shop!

Sunny, light breeze, a pleasant 70ish and the soil less soaked than it was—so it was perfect for getting out there to break and turn row 2 in preparation for green beans and black-eyed peas. The entire row will be given over to 1/4 cukes and the remaining 3/4s for the peas and green beans.

Pretty out there in the yard with all the daffs and hyacinths, the banana magnolia shrub bursting with buds, the peach blushed with pink blossom and the grass a sprawling bed of tiny purple flowers from dead nettle to forget-me-nots to wood violets with some dandelions mixed in for fun. The ornamental pears looked glorious for 2 whole days as their bridal whites smothered their limbs but the stormy weather quickly saw an end to their loveliness. coral cups of quince were a perfect foil to the white but their colour, too, is waning now.

Cold pizza for breakfast
A couple years ago in Inuvik, NWT, it was the best option for an early breakfast so I could be on the road south to hit the first southbound ferry across the Mac on the Dempster Highway. Good times.

been a beautiful day out, so carried on the work in the vegetable garden. I'm getting there:

  • potato beds not needing anything much else, so ready and already with tubers in the ground
  • carrot beds ready to plant, garlic growing already in its bed
  • corn row ready for planting
  • cucumber bed cleaned out, posts restrung and re-caned ready to plant
  • the rest of that row turned and posted, work begun on removing all the turned weeds, then I can gutter the row and string/cane the posts for the green beans and cow peas
what else remains to do: cleaning off the peppers/tomatoes row, minding the leeks already growing in it; finding a spot for some spinach if the seed's still viable; be ready to erect some pliable fencing or the curved wire caging to protect the cow peas from the rabbits after they ruined an entire row of them last year because I neglected to do that. Since the veggie side of things is all down to me this year, it's being restricted to the main veggie garden and no extra rows... that'll make life easier for me when it comes to watering and weeding as the sun gets hot.

We seem to have completely lost a good 2 rows of strawberries... all there is be seen are 2 small plants near the little pond! No idea if it was the heat or what has killed them all off :( They've been there decades!

I forgot the muscadine grapes.... they've sprouted plenty of new shoots, some 6' log or more... NOT in the veggie garden but in a south-facing spot behind the chicken coop. We need to erect some posts there for them to run along rather than the ground where they are right now.

I mowed the whole garden last year. :D

I was offered a new job the other day. Had the interview with a bunch of men. Went very well. They actually loved me. Anyway, a few days later I was offered another opportunity. Called the recruiter from the first job to discuss working arrangements. Strange woman. Negative and arrogant. She basically spoke down to me like I worked for her LOL. “It’s all in, or it’s nothing”. I laughed and told her I didn’t think it was going to work out. I sent the decline email to her bosses. Got a phone call from one of the men 5 minutes later. I told them another opportunity had come up and that their recruitment team was adamant that there would be no flexibility.

I wonder if she still has a job. I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but even I know it’s not smart to act like a massive knob towards the people you’re trying to hire.
