The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXVII: You're Welcome, Fuckers

are you absolutely sure about your new information, though? It would be really awful if your friendship broke up because of misinformation... on the other hand, how sad is it that someone would lie about it? Not unheard of, but very sad.
No, I’m not 100% certain, the math never quite matched though.

H has the all clear on his shoulder skin cancer, no radiation or chemo required. And when he gets the patch on his ear done with the same team then he'll be completely cancer free again.

Great news!!!

👍

How are the donor skin graft sites progressing / healing??? Is the pain subsiding???

🤔

Twinkle Tears???

🤔

Why???

🤔
My best friend was angry with me over a misunderstanding. It's all better now.
Sometimes I think about the fact that last year I realized that someone I considered a close friend here has been lying for a very long time about losing a child and I think why would you do that what was the benefit there? How did that feed them? Attention seeking? I can’t get it off my mind especially because thanks to algorithms their various social media pages show up on my feed
Straight out ask. Social media is constantly changing and can be very misleading. NEVER get the truth from the horses' ass. Go straight to the horses' mouth....with a nice apple. ;)

it's just the one long area on the back of his thigh from butt-cheek to knee. The pain's lessened considerably to almost nothing but—despite any amount of antibiotic cream—the dressings continue to get stuck in places where he has to sit on it. Prior to it healing up as much as it has, it would get soaked and fall off! Before his appt yesterday, he wanted to remove the stuck on dressing; it took an hour and a half of soaking before he could remove it, which (naturally) caused a little surface bleeding. So he was determined not to have it redressed, just creamed-up, and the hospital agreed he could try that. This morning, he's had me re-dress it because it was just too uncomfortable and sticking to surfaces. oy vey. This time, though, we've used non-stick dressings which have a thin plastic-like film (breathable) so it shouldn't stick. fingers crossed!

just brought in another good quart, maybe more, of green beans. These ones are destined for the freezer. I'm really happy with how they are producing so well

It’s good advice, Twinkles but I’m not going to ask him. We stopped being friends awhile ago. Just needed to get it off my brain.

It’s hard when people, especially old friends, turn out to be not who we thought they were they were. Sometimes you spend years being supportive and giving them the benefit of the doubt, and later it turns out they were not trustworthy and playing everyone all along.
hugs

So very true!

Cunts. Every one of 'em.

Went to check out the veggie garden this morning and noticed that something (likely rabbits) had nibbled through the base of some asparagus bean stems, about 5" from the ground. Pissed me off a bit, considering they'd grown about 5' tall. So I had to jerry rig some wire fencing around their support frame to stop whatever it was doing the damage. It'll only work if it's rabbits, though: if it's some beetle or slugs/snails then the wire won't stop them. Pretty sure the culprits are furry, tho.

When I've had time to cool off, Imma go play on the new mower!

that was fun! got 2/3s of the backyard cut though it'll need a closer, prettier cut to make it properly tidy.

it's fast, quieter than the old one, handles so easily and with a really responsive steering wheel... he'll be able to use this one just as well as the old, if not better. The only downside at all is that it won't allow the blades to be cutting as you reverse, but no biggie.

So Harry won’t chop up the flowerbeds when he "accidentally" backs over them…

👍

🤣

I miss the quiet peaceful times, the unbridled joy when I woke up, the soft breathing of sleep and sometimes even the sound of the sante fe in the early hours of the morning.

Been looking at some clips of old rockers touring lately and they are dreadful. In particular David Lee Roth and Axl Rose. The first staggering around grinning like a confused moron and the latter screeching like an urban fox looking through a skip for food. Then there's poor Ann Wilson singing from a wheelchair and Lou Gramm making bizarre noises that are supposed to be singing I guess and not a cry for help. They should pack it in. Very sad.

Now Metallica is a different tale...fuck me they still have it in spades.

Butters, your posts make me tired.
i'm sorry ;)

the weather today is very tiring, 90, cloudy and humid and when the sun does break through it's scorching. *sigh*

got out fairly early this morning and picked another half gallon of green beans, got them cleaned and into the freezer. H went out while I was still in bed to pick up gas for the mowers but it's just too yucky out there for me to feel like doing anything much at all.

at least plants don't talk back! I don't know how you cope with all the kids you teach. I tried helping out at pre-school when my middle kid started there... it was traumatising for me! Everyone wanting something at the same time and the noise levels! oh my gosh. nuh huh

I was surprised how long Steven Tyler managed to front Aerosmith without tarnishing the brand.
