The Isolated Politics Blurt Thread I: A New Beginning

Lindt, lindt, lindt... wthf?

Lindt concedes its chocolate isn't actually 'expertly crafted with the finest ingredients' amid a lawsuit

The luxury chocolate brand found itself in the middle of a class action lawsuit in February 2023, after a US consumer organization reported on high amounts of lead found in its dark chocolate bars.

Now, lawyers for the popular brand have come forward and said that the iconic words printed on its chocolate bars, including 'excellence' and 'expertly crafted with the finest ingredients,' were 'puffery.'

The Eastern District of New York district court said product puffery is 'exaggerated advertising, blustering, and boasting upon which no reasonable buyer would rely.'

fucking 'high amounts of lead'? man, that's disgraceful.

Elon Musk's AI chatbot, Grok, has seemingly turned on its creator after it told an X user that the source of most misinformation on the platform is its owner.

"Based on various analyses, social media sentiment, and reports, Elon Musk has been identified as one of the most significant spreaders of misinformation on X since he acquired the platform," Grok told X user Gary Koepnick, which he shared in a post to X.

It also pointed to numerous instances in which the X owner spread misinformation.

"Musk has made numerous posts that have been criticized for promoting or endorsing misinformation, especially related to political events, elections, health issues like COVID-19, and conspiracy theories. His endorsements or interactions with content from controversial figures or accounts with a history of spreading misinformation have also contributed to this perception," according to the platform's AI tool.

and the guy didn't even use musk's name in the question :)

it ain't wrong

🙄

The Democrats did NOT ignore the working class.

😑

Also:

Pointing out that the economy could be WORSE, and that there are areas of strength in certain sectors of the economy is NOT the same as saying the economy is “good for everyone”. (The economy has NEVER been “good for everyone”.)

Can anyone provide a cite where President Biden OR Vice President said the economy was “good for everyone”???

Also:

DonOld and the MAGAt republicans declared that the economy and the country would collapse IMMEDIATELY upon President Biden and Vice President Harris taking office.

That ^ did NOT happen - even in the face of an insurrection (and attempted supply chain disruptions by MAGAt loyalists) and Putin’s inflation exacerbating war of choice. (Corporate greedflation which DonOld facilitated with his deregulation is another factor to consider.)

Things CAN get WORSE with the economy with respect to average Americans. (And they very likely will. - See: EVERY Republican controlled government for the past 50 years.)

Hope that ^ helps.

Dumbfucks gonna dumbfuck.

https://tcf.org/content/report/what-biden-has-done-and-still-can-do-for-workers/

From the article:

“Biden has been the most pro-worker and pro-union president in my lifetime, and I’m almost 50….You’d have to go back to F.D.R. to get anybody close.”

😳

😑

👉 dumbfucks 🤣

Side note:

That article only covers what President Biden did (or tried to do) for workers up to the 2022 midterms. Much more has
been accomplished since then.

Housing prices, gas, and groceries are the main culprits for workers angst, and President Biden had little control over those things. The one things he did have some control of - gas prices - he addressed quite effectively.

Also:

Housing prices were surging under DonOld’s administration, and the price of food rose far faster than inflation. (And we are talking about perhaps the lowest continuous low interest environment in modern American history during DonOld’s administration (Obama benefited from a low interest environment as well.)

😳
