The Last Kingdom

OOC: Could Yall Gather around Sanity'S And Kartans dead Bodys Pleass

Avallyn had always been able to relate to animals. Her Amazon kingdom was full of wild creatures, Amazons loved nature and the animals that inhabited the land. Sensing a strong sense of protectivness Avallyn realized that though this fox was Vixen it still had the instincts of a wild animal therefor making it very protective of the weak. Smiling kindly reached out her mind and light touched the fox with a soothing touch promising not to bother the girl then she turned back to Kelwyn "yes we should get back to the Castle and talk about all that has happened and what should happen next"

Karrack

He was overjoyed at seeing Vixen alive and well, but was still slightly stunned at hearing Aeneva's name. Getting to his feet shakily he turned to the King and said, "That is indeed Vixen, your highness, and she is of the were kind, but I declare my right as clan chief's son that she is my loyal companion therefore falls under my juristiction and not yours." After this, he turned back towards Vixen and the girl.

Going down on one knee he rubbed vixen's head playfully. Then turning to the young girl he placed his right hand on the floor, his left over his heart and bowed his head. "My lady Aeneva, I, your humble servant greet you. My clan has awaited your return for many, many centuries. And I am honored to be the first to lay eyes on you. I stand at your command." and after having spoken he stood up and awaited her words.

Aeneva

Aeneva stared in bewilderment at the small gathering around her. She had no idea what the giant man was talking about. She took a step back and shook her head. Too many events had occurred and now this, a giant bowing before her. All this was too much for her. Her body was exhausted and her mind reeling from confusion. Without a sound, she crumpled to the ground in a dead faint.

Vixen...

Vixen barks sharply in surprise sniffing the girl gently.

Karrack moves closer to check on the girl himself and Vixen immediately turns and growls low and deep, her hackles rising. Karrack raises his arms and moves back carefully.

"Vixen..." he says urgently, "I'm just trying to help the girl..."
Vixen continues to growl only this time her teeth are bared.
"Vixen!" He says sharply, "listen to me... you've been changed too long, you MUST come out of it..."
Vixen barks, her fangs are something to see, long, sharp and leathal looking.
"Vixen..." Karrack tries again, almost desperately, "please... remember your human side..." his eyes pleading with her, he holds out his hand.
Immediately there is a snapping of teeth as Vixen's jaw wraps around Karrack's hand. He grunts but doesn't move as her jaw holds him, the strenth there enought to easily do serious damage. He just flinches and waits. Vixen's growl sends shivers through the others who just watch with their breath held.

Finally the growl changes, and she is silent. Carefully removing her teeth from him. He shudders and grips his now bleeding hand.

"Vixen... you've got to come back to me..." He says again.

Her ears prick up and then fold back against her head. The fur about her seems to lessen. Her muzzle seems to fold in on itself. Her body shudders and slowly the shape of a human emerges as the fur rapidly regresses.

King Kelwyn steps forward to wrap his arm around Avallyn protectively. He stands and watches in awe at the transformation. The body stretches out until Vixen squats panting heavily before them.

She looks up a Karrack with tears in her eyes. She looks down at his bleeding hand and instantly moves towards him checking it.

"Oh Goddess... I'm so sorry Karrack... I was under for such a long time... I'm so sorry..." A single tear falling down her cheek. Usually she would have been mortified, she let no one see her change... in fact only Karrack had ever really seen it happen... now her only concern seemed to be him, but in fact she worried about the girl also.

Turning back to her, her human side cringed at the white skin. She had not been immune to the tales told, yet her animal side yearned to protect and in the end she listened to that side... for now.

"Is she okay?" She whispered, clearly exhausted from the change, she shivered and looked like she herself would faint at any moment.

Karrack

Gripping his hand and clenching his teeth, Karrack watched as Vixen transformed back into her human self. Even as she began to ask questions he was moving...

First he quickly wrapped a strip of dead enemy's cloth around the punctures on his wrist. As Vixen asked about the girl, he seized what was left of his cloak and stepping forward placed it around her naked body wrapping her with his arms protectively.

All the while he was thinking furiously over the recent events in the tent.

First Vixen goes nearly insane trying to protect one of the prophesied members. Next thing he knows she's turning on him in beastial form, something that had only happened once before in the many years of their association. Last but not least is the appearance of Aeneva, the Spirit Walker, the One who was destined to bring all the giant races together again! His head reeled at the implications.

Even as these thoughts ran through his mind he was slowly rocking back and forth holding Vixen in his arms trying to soothe her rattled nerves. "Shh, Shh, dear one. It's alright, she is fine and your in need of some rest after your ordeal. You'll be fine, I'm here, trust me...." he whispered to her ears only as she slowly unwound and relaxed against him...

Randall

Lord Randall stood at the entrance of the tent in which his King was consulting with the companions awaiting this informant he was told about.

Soon a seargant and a couple of soldiers led forward a young man (Garret) who seemed a little spaced out, almost as if he was in shock at all the carnage. Grimacing in understanding at the man's (supposed) reaction to the gore, Randall lead them to one side where the tent blocked most of the sight of gore.

Standing for a moment studying the man he then decided to get started. "The seargant here tells me that you have some information that can aid us?" he asked and waited to see what happened.

Vixen...

As Vixen felt the giant's arms about her, finally, finally she felt a calm fill her. She relaxed into his arms, the one person who accepted her for who and what she was in both forms.

"Karrack..." she murmered letting his words soothe her and his arms comfort her.

"So sorry..." she whispered before falling into a deep sleep of exhaustion.

King Kelwyn

Kelwyn strode forward and gathered the unconcious Aeneva into his arms, picking up her slight form easily. His brow furrowed into a frown.

"Karrack, it is clear you know more about this young woman than any of us, but amongst this carnage nothing good can come, perhaps you will explain what you know to us all when we return to the castle?" He glanced over at the opening of the tent where Lord Randall even now conversed with a young man.

Kelwyn hugged the petite body of the child/woman to his chest and turned to Avallyn, "M'Lady, I have heard that your people are well versed in the healing arts? Hopefully you can help us here, to enable us to journey home in relative comfort?" His smile was warm, and though his words were calm, his eyes sought out hers and he held them for a long moment as if trying to speak to her on a much deeper level. He smiles softly before turning again to Lord Randall at the entrance to the tent. Already the smell of dead flesh was beginning to form, a most unpleasant stench that would not improve soon.

"Lord Randall, what news?" Kelwyn asks as he notes the young man speaking to him.

Garret stood looking at the man with cold eyes. He looked into his heart, seeing exactly what he knew... barely anything. Wasn't even worth killing, he did seem very important though. He would be of great use.
"Yes, of course. I have some information regarding the Drowl's movements. It seems as if they are controlling this entire attack upon the army. I heard everything they are going to do. Their tactics, strategies. With my help, we could take the entire army with little more than a small army."
He glanced back at the rest of the party, looking at them for the first time.
"Although, if this is the army your speaking of, we may need a few more."
The giant intrigued him, although the bigger were the harder they fell. Perhaps something that involved sleep. Garret doubted he could kill such a beast when he was fully awake. His mind travelled onto the others. A couple of helpless females... all too easy. An amazon... a smirk came to his face, that would have to be something he'd do nice and slow.
No need rushing when there was so much pain to inflict. He had heard that Amazon's have a high threshold of pain. He would have to find that out for himself.
The rest seemed usual, regular human warriors. All killable in a number of ways. Something touched his mind though, something he had nearly forgotten.
The girl.
Ahh, yes, there she was nestled in the giant's arms. Conveniant isn't it. She was of much use to the plan, truth be told Garret wouldn't mind a fuck or two himself, but he would have to wait. Master wanted her first.
His eyes shifted back to the little rat looking at him now. Although for the past minute he had thought of nothing but death his face still remained innocent and unchanging. Almost as if he was just frightened, looking at the scene.

Avallyn walked forward and took Karrack's injured hand in her own. Looking over the wounds she sees that they aren't to bad, they looked worse then they actually were. Turning she ran back out to her horse who stood skittish outside the tent. Soothing her with a few words she grabbed her pouch of heaving herbs then ran back inside the tent. "I would be happy to see to any wounds you all have before we return. It would be best because otherwise wounds may become infected" taking Karrack's hand again she reached into her pouch and took out a healing salve. She then took out a leaf from the great oaks. Putting the salve on the leaf she tied it to his wound with a clean strip of cloth from her bag. "there that should help it, it may sting a bit but otherwise be fine" turning to the others looking at Kelwyn a moment she asked "anyone else need tending?"

King Kelwyn

Kelwyn stepped forward, the pale white form of Aeneva still in his arms. He indicated that Randall should take her from him. Lord Randall stepped forward quickly and gathered the light form up into his arms.

"Avallyn, would you please see what you can do for the child?" He asked nodding towards Lord Randall and the unconcious form in his arms. His eyes distracted by her beauty for some moments before he turned back to the boy before him.

Kelwyn then placed a hand on the boy's shoulder.

"Young man, you were very brave to come forward as you have and my kingdom is much gratified to hear this news, however you managed to escape is a miracle. It would seem that we cannot disregard this knowledge, rather than return to the castle we should push onwards, as for our numbers, perhaps some of the boarder patrols still remain, we may be able to gather more men as we go... boy... what is your name?"

The King asked, seeing only a young lad, clearly horrified by the carnage he had witnessed but brave enough to know what he knew was important.

Vixen

Vixen stirred in Karrack's great arms.

She blinked bleary eyed hearing voices.

Her focus was blurred but she made out the shape of a young man standing before the King. Something odd about him... she remembered the girl and looked around frantically.

Karrack immediately shushed her again, settling her.

"She is safe Vixen... the King and his man have her... she is safe..."

Vixen nodded and slipped back into the deep sleep that awaited her.

Randall

Randall held Aeneva's body easily in his arms as he considered his King's words. Finally deciding on a course of action he spoke...

"I agree with you my lord, if he has information that can be of use we should use it. But, we have two people here who need rest and aid (nodding his head towards Aeneva and Vixen) that should be taken into consideration too. I propose that we gather with the main army a few leagues away, gather in the last border patrols and retreat a few leagues back to the castle. Along the way we can leave traps for our foes and then you can meet with the Prophetess and the Librarian while the two get treatment. While you are there with them I and the other generals will send a call for arms to the nobles and try to formulate a plan to defeat the enemy from this young man's information." he said and waited to hear Kelwyn's reply.

Karrack

Oc: Calling all prospective bad guys! HELP!

Ic: Karrack nodded his thanks to Avallyn as she finished binding his wounds. Meanwhile the King had gone to speak to Randall and the boy.

A moment later Vixen began to stir and look about frantically. Greatly worried for her he shushed her gently and stroked her hair slowly while he held her in his arms saying. "She is safe Vixen... the King and his man have her... she is safe..."

A moment later she settled her head back into his chest and he rocked her gently and kissed the top of her head while giving thanks to his family's gods that she was safe.

Looking up slightly he watched as Randall (who was holding Aeneva and whom Karrack trusted completely), the boy, and Kelwyn all debated over what actions the group should take. He didn't care what they decided as long as he would be able to keep his Vixen safe, and he could bring Aeneva home for his people to see and believe in the prophecy.

King Kelwyn

"As usual Lord Randall, what you say is sound advice... but before we leave we should clean up this carnage... get the men to pile up the bodies... we will burn them before we leave... there is no need to leave the bodies here to rot. Meantime, make up a tent up on the hill away from it so that our injured have a place to rest properly."

The King turned to Avallyn, "is there anything you need that I can get you to help you with the injured?"

Avallyn motioned Randall to lay the girl down on the small bed in the tent. As he did so she began grinding some herbs together then mixing them with a red liquid she stirred the ingredients. Smiling at Kelwyn she shook her head "no I have everthing I need just check on everyone else see if they need any tending please" then she turned back to the girl "Lord Randall can you hold her head up please" as he did so she tipped the liquid so the girl began to drink, swallowing reflexivly. She coughed every now and then but finally drank it down. Nodding Avallyn stood up "I gave her a drink that my mother used to make for me. It contains special roots from the Amazon country and Elder berry wine. It is made to calm someone and to help someone through a bad ordeal. She will be a bit groggy when she awakes but it will help her" standing up she picked up her bag. "If no one else needs any medical attention I suggest we get back to the castle or decide what to do next"

Ooc: Right now I am playing a bad guy, but he is temporary. I don't know, I put up a fairly good set up. If no one does intervene I know of a person who wouldn't mind doing it.

Personally Garret had already grown tired of their discussion. Let's move back, let's stay here, let's go forward. This was the exact reason why nothing ever got done.
He left the conversation ducking in to see the transferance of bodies. The dead ones in a pile, and the others sent up to a hill. Where a huge tent was being set up. Garret quickly traversed around the bodies looking for interesting trinkets. Gold chains, rings, gauntlets, anything of good use.
He paused over two bodies, one had a particularly attractive black chain. It drew Garret some great interest. He had heard about them, regeneration of Angels. That's how they kept their eternal youth. It seems this particular fellow hadn't gotten rid of his. Garret picked it up, stuffing it in his pouch. The drowl would have much use for an angel, if properly trained.
Finally, he made his way over to the injured section. He glanced outside, everyone else was busy down with the prophets and select few. The rest had set up camp, no one was really around the injured tent. Excellent. He drewback the flap, looking at the area. Dozens of people, all resting on the ground looked up at the ceiling of the tent. He could see them all in pain, and only two healers were here treating them. That had to change didn't it. He needed to start with something small anyway.
Drawing energy in the middle of the tent he silently called for a delayed fireball. One big enough to destory the entire hilltop. It would be a grande explosion. Garret put a small delay on it, so he could get away.
As he walked outside he conjured up a wizard, running like mad through the woods. He made it important that he was seen by a few scouts. Walking back down the path he paused, taking a second to look back.
"Beautiful, isn't it?"
As the fire that started the dead bodies began to burn an explosion rocked the night.

OOC:

Ooooh... nice twist Poohlive... who did you have in mind for the bad guy? I'm enjoying Garrett's part in all this imensely... may I just inquire... who was in the injured person's tent? Was Avallyn, Vixen & Aeneva there or are they somewhere seperate? Does anyone survive the explosion?

PM me if you wish...

M.T.

Ooc: Just a note, no one was in the tent of any importance, unless of course you wanted to be in the tent. In that case you need to think of a clever way to survive a fireball. No death of anyone important... oh maybe some wounded generals of Radall's, that's about it.

Vixen...

Vixen awakens at the sound of the explosion with a start.

A low animal-like growl vibrates in her throat.

She blinks... seeing the fire even from her makeshift bedding in the nearby tent. She looks around frantically.

Where is Karrack? Where is the girl?

She sits up and shivers, looking down at herself she realises she's quite naked beneath the thin blanket.

She looks around for her clothes and remembers.

"Damn..." she hisses softly.

She grabs up the thin blanket and wraps it around herself slipping out of the tent looking for Karrack.

She sees the other tent now that the flames have lessened. All that remains is black and the writhing mounds of human flesh. Still too soon out of her transformation her sense of smell is too good. She wrinkles her nose in distaste.

She spots someone unfamiliar and starts to walk down the slope towards him. A young man. A boy? She looks down at her feet and frowns.

"Ouch..." she says as an afterthought. Her bare feet are no use on the rocky slope. She looks around and sees a grassier route and pads towards it. Her only simple thought to get closer to that boy.

Meanwhile: King Kelwyn

Kelwyn looks up aghast as the tent holding the injured men of his army is engulfed in flame.

"Lord Randall!" He shouts urgently even as he runs towards the flaming morgue. Someone holds him back. Avallyn, her eyes dark with unspoken pain. She shakes her head no.

"Too late..." she whispers

He looks at her and then back at the flaming tent.

"How... what..." he mutters uselessly. He turns and sees Vixen walking away from the burning mess. He blinks. Suspicion in his mind. He shakes off Avallyn's restraining hand and strides up to the woman.

"YOU!" He barks startling her. She stops and looks up at him uncomprehendingly, "what did you do?" He yells at her. She frowns, hearing the shouting voice. She glares back at him. She's slowly coming to herself.

"What... " her voice croaky... "what?" She tries again.

"What were you doing so close to the TENT!" He yells at her again.

She cocks her head to the side... "nothing..." her voice stronger.

"Damn it!" Kelwyn growls clearly frustrated, he grabs Vixen's arm. She forgets that she was heading towards the boy and reacts instinctively. One minute she was standing before the King the next her blanket falls to the ground as she moves quickly, stepping forward and thrusting her arms to the side catching Kelwyn by surprise. He feels himself flying forward and then backwards. With a heavy thump he lands on his back with Vixen crouched over him quite naked. His own sword poised at his neck. Her eyes are hard but something stops her from killing him.

Avallyn.

OOC: Sorry guys, I was very busy up to know, so I couldn't post. I don't want to interrupt your good plot, so simply tell me how you would like Morsyth to come back to the action.

OOC: I planed On Coming back As A Bad Guy As soon As I finish With Sanity But I need Yall to gather Around his Body First So his Gostr Can tell you Some thing

Avallyn rushed forward her sword drawn as she caught Vixen off gaurd knocking the sword out of her hand and pressing the blade to Vixen's neck. "Vixen you are my friend, and I consider myself your friend. But I will not hesitate to end your life if you threaten someone I hold dear. Do you hear me? You may be of the were kind but I am not that bad a fighter myself. Do not tempt me I do not wish to fight you. Now Back DOWN" Avallyn's hand was steady as she held the sword her eyes locked with Vixen as she silently begged her to back down.

King Kelwyn

Kelwyn reaches for his fallen sword, visibly shaken. He stands looking at the two women locked in silent battle. He is tense, not sure what to do next.

It is Vixen who moves first. Her eyes narrow.

"Do not test me Amazon..." she says quietly. Then she shivers noticably. She looks around for her blanket which has fallen to the side. She brushes aside Avallyn's sword and steps over to pick it up. The tension dissolves.

Huddled beneath the blanket again she takes a deep calming breath.

"Majesty..." she manages... "I'm sorry, I reacted to your anger... I know it must have looked suspicious, but I only came down that path because..." she lifted a naked foot, "it's grassier there... I was a surprised as anyone by the explosion."

King Kelwyn starred hard into Vixen's eyes and believed her. His shoulders relaxed but he sighed with frustratio, running his fingers through his already tousled hair.

"Damn it... how could this have happened?" He asked no one in particular.

"Majesty!" Lord Randall jogs towards his King.
"There were witnesses, a Wizard seen running from the tent!"
"Where is he?" Kelwyn demanded.
"Sorry Majesty... in the confusion... he escaped us..."
Kelwyn cursed colourfully. Vixen smiled appreciatively. This was an anger she understood.

Vixen continued to look around, sniffing carefully.

"Karrack!" She called out.

"Gather the men Randall... we're sitting ducks out here... as soon as the bodies have been burned we move out... bring the boy... we must attack while we still have the men to do it." Kelwyn ordered.
