OOC: no problem so can you amend that post on the beginning of this page plese? also if you want to use a book referance then the reference would be The Mikba Chronicles ok?
Joe stared at the Professor.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?"
She was stuck in some book! A book, for Pete's sake.
Why me she thought, why do I always come after him. A man bumped into her.
"ExCuse me! Rude much?"
OOC: No, i am sorry again. I was using the gunslinger books, you know Stephen King's books. The Gunslinger, The Drawing of the 3, The Watselands, and Wizard and Glass. The main character is Roland, of Midworld. He is a gunslinger in a wolrd past it's prime.
I was just confused because this world deals with book characters not video game characters.
It's ok though, you can tell Gary he is wrong. He still assumes you are Roland, probably because he is looking for more familiar faces in this screwed up world.
IC:
"I am so so sorry," Garret said, looking at the professor. He was their only way out of this. Gary went up to him.
"Excuse me, Professor, come on, tell us what to do?"
The professor looked up.
OOC: got ya!
IC:
Rei: "sorry kid you got the wrong guy im Rei Tigero, Friend of Rolando Gilliad, Bearer of KingStopper. Prehaps the Name Rei Rings a bell??" i said as i looked at this obviously exited kid...kinda like teepo he is...
Vixen flicked her long hair over one shoulder. She frowned. Something felt strange about this place. She couldn't figure out why. These people. She looked at them carefully, their clothes were so odd she thought. The old man... wore strange things on his face. Looked like glass wrapped up in steel... only the steel was so thin.
The garmets they wore... such strange fabrics and colours... where did they come from. Maybe from over the seas... but there wasn't a port for nearly 100 leagues from here.
She strode over to Woslooa. "What land do you call this?"
She demanded. She didn't like his answer. She'd never heard of a place like that before. "Have you heard of the Hidden Valley?" His blank face told him he hadn't.
"Were the HELL are we?" She was mad... she hated not knowing where she was. She looked at that boy she had saved. He was shoving something at the other man. It looked strange... like parchment... but so much whiter... and thinner. She shook her head. She didn't like the looks of this at all. She watched as Woslooa saw that everybody was safely in his Village.
She shook her head. Safe? They weren't safe... this place didn't even have fencing... they were gonna be horse dust. Woslooa raised his staff above his head and calmly watched the approaching riders. His face took on a trance like look. GREAT... Vixen thought... he's gonna stare them to death? She flung herself back up onto Tridant and urged him away from the mad village man and the stranger's. She covered her gaze and looked out behind the village. There seemed to be mountains... maybe she could... her train of thought was stopped by the sound of a loud humming. She turned to see...
The riders stopped just short of the village and the man holding her dismounted. She saw her chance and flung herself to the ground, landing nimbly on her feet. Unfortunately that man grabbed her hair, pulling her to a grinding halt. She really didn't want to hurt him, but what choice did she have. She gave him a swift kick to the groin, dropping him like a rock.
Mac took off at a run, not wanting to see how his buddies would take the abuse of one of their own. She ran as fast as her feet would take her, praying that there was someone would could help her and explain where the HELL she was!
IC: As the last girl ran past him, Wosolla dropped to his knees pulling up a disguised trap door in the ground. He reaches in and turns several handles, then places the flaming brand in the hole.
A line of fire shoots up in a line toward the horsemen, breaking left and right in front of them, forming a ring around the village.
The flames grew higher in height until they were higher than the mounted men.
"That will hold them for about an hour. No magic, natural gas. The humming was the lines filling as my people pumped up the pressure." The man turned until the flames were at his back and he was facing the strange group.
"The people here know me as Wosolla. You can call me Larry. I'm from Terre Haute, it's in Indiana. I've been here for three years. Anyone of you know how I can get home?"
Vixen stared at the flames with wide eyes. She could feel the heat from where she was. She looked at the man who had created this wild circle of flame. Not magick? How could this NOT be magick?
She slid off her horse and tried to keep him calm while she assessed what was happening. She was... well... in a village surrounded by flame. There were horsemen outside waiting to do... Goddess knows what... and inside... she looked at these strangers. She shook her head. She wasn't even going to try and analyse that for the moment.
"Wos..." she stopped, "... Larry?" she tried out the strange name... shrugged her shoulders... "do you have any more of those trap doors that lead to a way out of this village?"
She looked around... she didn't like feeling... enclosed like this at all. She liked the look of those horsemen even less. They weren't leaving. She could just see them pacing outside the barrier of fire.
Larry turned to Vixen and smiled, "Well, we do have the pipeline tunnel, but they've always seem to get bored and leave before we run out of gas."
"You have used this power before?"
"We get raided every couple of months. I don't think we'll have a problem." Vixen didn't look so sure.
Vixen looked through the flames at the riders. They definitely didn't seem to be going anywhere fast. She wished she hadn't left her pack back at Angelmire. She'd only meant to go on a pleasant ride with Tridant and maybe snooze in the sun, now suddenly she was surrounded by...
Who the hell were these people anyhow? She just couldn't get over their clothes... their strange accents. Well, she thought, since I'm not going anywhere soon, I guess I might as well find out. She walked over to the boy she had saved. He looked a little overwhelmed. "You... boy!" She spoke to him. He looked at her like she was a dream. She snapped her fingers in front of his face. "Hello?" She asked, not sure if the fall he had taken hadn't affect his mind.
She realised he was looking down to look her in the eye. Well, maybe he wasn't a boy after all... she frowned... but he sure wasn't very healthy... maybe a scholar? "Where are you from?" She asked him.
"Oh my... you're ... you really are Vixen aren't you?" He seemed so excited. Did word of her travel even further than she had realised?
"How do you know me?" She asked, defensively. Her eyes hardened as she inspected him more closely.
"Well you.." Gary stopped. He couldn't tell her that she was a fictional character. He wondered how to answer this.
"There are stories, where I come from, and you are in some. I have read them all," he hoped that had satisfied it.
Vixen looked at him, more confused then he was. Gary really didn't have an answer.
"Ok, wait. Nevermind. Let's go to the professor. He should be able to explain what is going on, and where we came from."
Gary walked over to the professor, and saw that Vixen followed him. He couldn't believe how pretty she looked. He cursed himself for not having a book, he might have gotten her autograph.
"Professor," Gary said, "this is Vixen, a ... ummm, friend of mine. She, and I want to know exactly what happened."
The professor looking her up and down, starting to talk.
"We are from a different world. We used a special stone to travel to this world. We didn't really know this stone would take us here,"
the professor had taken the stone from John now,
"but we did know something would happen with the stone. I guess we know it now."
He laughed, but it was nervous.
"So, now here we are. There is another stone here, that will send us home."
Gary felt relieved, he was dreading the fact that they had to stay here. Now all they needed to do was find a round stone. No problem. Gary lowered his head, hopeless.
"Professor," a woman came running up to them, "the other stone, I have it. I have the other stone."
Gary raised his head.
Rei: "hey guys....we have a problem here!!!!!"
the flame barrier was starting to dissapate
"Time to Get down!"
"raaaaaaaagh...."
i was starting to transform into a were-tiger
"RaaaaagH!!!!"
this is alwase a little insane.
"AHHHH! ROAR!!!!"
its done. the flame barrier was broken from a spell by the horsemen but the ones in first didnt have a chance in hell. I leaped on the tearing their armor off and slashing their throats i ran into the line of horsemen as the horses spurred and started to run from the city. before the riders could convince them other wise a new flame barrier was up...i slowly reformed into my 'Normal' self
"now dosent this just beat all, 4 strangers in even stranger clothing appear outa no where, strange portals start poping up all over the place and this kid talks like it was all outa some book! pardon me for asking But what in the name of The firsts is going on here????!"
Jo stared at the Professor. He reached to take the stone from her.
"I don't think so, bucko." SHE Said," First of where have you been? Second , WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME!"
Joe looked at the guy next to the Professr, the one drueling on the warrior girl he was kinda cute. in a booish geek kind of way. Who was she kinding..he was a hottie!
"i! I'm Jo, Professor assistant. and you are?"
Rei: i tapped my claw on this ladys shoulder 3 times she turned around yelling
"Waht......"
"My name? It's Rei, Rei Tigero."
i flashed out my dragona knives and smiled
"That warrior lady over there is Vixen not only the most deadly , the prettyest assassin in all nations."
"And so now i will ask the same of you, Who are you, From where do you come, and why are you here?"
Vixen smiled at Rei's discription of her. She inclined her head in thanks at his kind words. She considered the... Professor? Is that what the boy had called him? "A... portal?... another world?" She frowned. Her eyes were hard. "What sort of magicks do you do in this other world... that you come here... unarmed... with no means to get back...?" She looked at him like he was clearly lacking in some profound way.
She glanced at the new female who had walked up. This one at least seemed capable, Vixen thought. However, her harsh words are bellied by the way she looks at this boy. She again inspects the boy who seemed to know of her. It irked her that someone so strange would know of her, yet she knew not of him. "Your name?" She demanded of him.
"Gary..." he almost stuttered as he stared at her.
"G... Gaaahhryy?" she pronounced the name.
He nodded in the affirmative. She sniffed, "well... Gahry... of?"
"Of?" he asked perplexed... the professor stepped in...
"We are all of the same... err... Kingdom M'Lady Vixen..." he said smoothly... "we are of a place called New York"
"Nyewww Yoahrk?" She looked at him carefully.
"Professor... of Nyew Yoark?" she turned to Gary... "and Gary of Nyew Yoark?" She offered her hand to the new girl... she knew of many backward kingdoms where women were expected to be all nice and proper, simpering little things... where they were not allowed to be warriors or blacksmiths or whatever they chose to be, clearly by the looks of this woman, the land of Nyew Yoark was as forward thinking as her home home. "My name is Vixen, M'Lady ... I am from the family of Tristam, deep in the mountains of Angelis, a warrior such as yourself is most welcome here 'Tis a strange sounding name your... lands ... but a good name... were you sent here on a quest?" She asked.
"I'm Joe," she aid grabbing Vixen's hand."I'm the Professor assistant. Rei, was it, hello. Hello to you to Vixen. So where are we? Because this sure aint NYC."
Joe looked Rei up and down. Okay Gary was cute butthis guy.. This guy was a raging Hottie! Joe sized Vixen up. She knew Vixen was doingthe samething.
"So, Vixen, what's happening here? Some kind of war?"
Suddenly Joe fet a hand on her shoulfder. On instict she grabed the arm and threw the person over her shoulder and planted herfoot in his chest. she looked down at him. He was some old guy."sorry." she said as she pulled him up.
Vixen grinned as she watched Jo easily pull the old man over her shoulder. Interesting technique she thought. Seemed she was using the man's momentum to pull him over. Similar to her own training... yet so efficient. "Intriguing... Jo... you must teach me that move!" Vixen smiled. Ignoring the groan from the fallen man.
"I don't know of any war that's suppossed to happen around here... but then... I had assumed here was my own country... which I'm beginning to doubt it still is at the moment. This... " she idicated the village surrounded by flame... "isn't even suppossed to be here... at least not as far as I know. As for the riders... they're persistent... thats all I know... but as far as I can tell, they're mortal. So I'm sure we could make a decent dent in them before they managed to possibly kill us all."
Vixen checked her knives and considered getting out her short sword. She remembered... Larry saying that the flames would not last forever. His magick had limitations it seems. "Laahry!" She called to him. "How much longer do we have?"
She whistled to Tridant who pranced over, his mane tossing as he stood restlessly by her, clearly seeing a fight imminent... he was itching to get started. "Easy boy, you'll get plenty of fun soon... " She pulled out her twin set of short swords and buckled them to her waist for easy access.
"Any of you capable of weilding a weapon," she looked at Gary and the professor as if she seriously doubted it but was obliged to ask anyhow...
" can." Joe answered. She looked around and saw a stack of weapons. walking over she pulled out a short sword, a long sword, a couple of dirks, a crssbow and a quever of arrows. Joe strapped the swords on. hooked the quever to her belt and shoved two dirks in her boots. Pickingup the other two dirks nd her bag she walked back to the group.
"Here, ypour gonna need these.' she said handing the Professor and Gray each a dirk."Try not to hurt yourselve."
she walked over to Vixen and Rei." So which way? I feel like kicking some ass."
"Okay... Lahry... you might want to get your people out through those tunnels you spoke to me of. This could get a little bloody..."
Vixen let out a whoooping cry that echoed about the mountains. It was shrill and challenging. The riders outside the flames shifted nervously.
Vixen picked up her small shield and mounted Tridant. "Jo! Do you ride?" She asked... indicating she should join her on Tridant. "Once we're through the flames... I'm better of on foot in a situation like this... you stay on Tridant... he'll take you were you need to go!" She laughed as Jo clasped her hand and Vixen swung her up before her. Jo took the reigns and had a flicker of doubt, NYC didn't give a girl a lot of experience riding. Tridant shifted under her. She leaned forward and he moved forward. "Hey this isn't so hard!"
"The flames have been weaked by some outside force. I'm not sure now how long they'll hold. Hello everyone." Larry walks amoung the others shaking hands. He stops short of Rei. "Quite the paws there. I must gather the village together. We have a fortified position by the tunnel entrance. If necessary we can flee."
"Hi I'm Huck" The youth shock Larry's hand.
"Yeah I figured that Huck. I'm Larry from Indiana. So tell me how many of you came through the library. And did I hear someone say they have extra stones?"
Larry ran through the village and gathered the people by the tunnel entrance. Most of the men, about 20, had bows the women and older children held pikes braced against a stone wall to protect the archers. The flames dropped lower. The horde would be upon them soon.
Gary examined the sword in his hand. He had never even seen a real sword much less used one. He liked to win fights by saying checkmate, not roaring a war cry.
Gary looked over at the professor, he didn't like holding a sword either. Gary went up to him.
"Ok, the other stone, we have it now, why can't we leave."
The professor looked back, "it isn't that easy. The ancient writings said the way in is the same way back."
"That means what exactly?" Gary was more puzzled than ever.
"I think it means that we have to find a book. A magical book that contains everything that earth has ever done. We need to find it."
Oh great, "Oh great, and where in this world is that book?"
The professor frowned, "I need to read some more of my scriptures."
Gary watched as the fire wall started to fade, it was barely his height now, "It will have to wait, we have some work to do."
Hoe clung with her knees to Triren. It was like riding a motercycle...kinda. Vixen held on to her waist as the jumped over the flames. As the bore down on the enemy, Joe let out her own wr cry and unshithed her sword. She felt Vixen bale and kneed the horse.
"Okay, horse lets kick sme ass." She bore down on the enemy, slicing her way throught the lines. I wish that guy Rei was here, she thought, those clawsof his would do some prim dammage.
