The Library

Joe pulled Ra up next to Gary." I'm sorry I hit you. It jut well this place is like what my childhood was like. It is just nerve racking." She smiled a him. Gary looked like e was going to feight.
"Should I trot?"
Joe looked at Gary's horse and laughed. " He talks? Cool. Maybe Ra will start talking. Totaly Third Kingdom."
Suddenly a hail of arrows rained down on them.
"PROFESSOR" Joe yelled, "Come on." Joe kneed Ra in to action. She lay on his side as he raced along. Things she thouht she'd forgoten came rushing back.
Joe pulled out her sword and rode toward Vixen . "Gary, keep the Professor out of the line of fire>' she called over her shoulder.
She pounded into the fray. An arrow slammed into her leg. Not again she thought. a memory came to her mind. ranticly she pushed it down.NO. Don't think about the or that night!

"Stop, Stop, the password is the Elves will Rule. Stop it. We come in peace", Genjaro shouted and rode up to Joe,"Sorry about that, I forgot about the hidden people, as they call themselves, they're really just a bunch of elves who know how to camaflouge", he told them.

Joe sat shivering on her horse.
"well you should have warned us." she snapped. she kneed Ra and rode forward.
"Joe, ait. the professor cried.
"What was that about?"
Gary asked.
"When Joe was young her parents where working on a dig in the jungles of entral America. One night a group of soilders attacked the camp. The slaughtered everyone in the village but Joe. They held her captive for a yer. she watched her parents die in a hail of arrows." he said
"That's why she freaked." Gary said.

Joe pulled Ra p by a stream. She slide off him. She walked over to the nearest tree and hurled. She would not, could not rember that time. That girl was dead. This was the new Joe.

The elves came out to greet them... hearing of the attack from the hordes... they offered shelter... food... for the night. Vixen noted the sudden rapid decent of the sun as they spoke... the stars coming out. She shivered, she didn't like the way the world was changing at all. She turned and looked back where they came from. Strange lights... "w.. what IS that?" She pointed. Larry turned... "i.. it looks like the lights from Manhattan..."
"M.. what is that?"
"A big city..."
"A city... that glows at night?... With flames that don't flicker?"
He smiled at her curiosity... "in a way.. yes.."
She shook her head.. not understanding.. but still curious. The elves lead them to a fire, and offered platters of lucsious fruits and spiced cakes. Their diet being vegetarian.

Duke: "Ah Manhattan! as long as it isnt Mobster Books i am there! i hope the Alecis Delicetessin is still open in this books age why." i stopped instantly
"Look! the Brooklin Bridge is still Uncompleated! cant you See?this must be from its Book!" i jumped at the thought of being there when they took the photo of all the people present at the Construction of the Bridge and Smiled.
"Pardon me for a moment" i stepped aside and removed the armor and Placed it in a BreifCase that was made to hold it and my sword.
"There we go. Lads, Take Care of our confused Friend here while i go make sure of the time. i will return!" i spoke as i walked briskly off to the City And smiled knowing i could be there with my Great Great Grandfather.

OOC: I'm lost on this thread..<takes off glasses and scratches his head>..I'll try to keep up.

IC: Larry tucked the swords into his belt. He sat with Duke and Vixen at the elves feast.
"Manhatten, sure could use a hot dog about now."

Joe sat nder a tree eating an apple. ra nudged her." I know, I know." she said petting him. She removed is tack." Look Ra, the Island of Crazy people. The oly place ypu can get Chinese delivered at 2 in the morning."
Joe relax against the tree. she could her the others in the distince. She looked at the stars. A memoy overtook her.
~ Joe sat at a table coloring. Her mother wassitting next to her. Down the table was the Professor. " Joe, sweetie, don't color on the table. Mommy has important things here sweetie." Jo e went outside. Her father sat on the edge of he dig. She went and sat beside him. "Rember Joe, no matter where you are. We'll be with you. You have the spirit of a warrior in you."~
Joe pulled herself out of the memory. She could here the Professor calling her.
"Come on Ra. Time to face the music."

The stick was sharpened at both ends.
There was a lesson in that. A sort of catch 22 for this world. No matter what good side their was, there seemed one just as bad.
Gary looked over at Joe, she was sitting by herself. Her stick was sharpened at both ends. She had had a miserable and even traumatic life on earth, and now this doesn't seem to be helping her. Gary wondered how long she could handle both sides being sharp before she went off the deep end.
Gary did feel sorry for her though, he felt sorry for everyone, he was just that kind of guy. He even felt sorry for those stupid warriors that they had killed.
Gary put these thoughts away, for now, and ate. He ate all kinds of food, some that even human's haven't gotten the chance to eat. Foods from all kinds of books, and why not? There were cook books around the world. It would be crazy if this world wasn't without food.
Gary loaded a plate full of noodles. They looked like noodles, they smelled like noodles, but they weren't noodles. He wondered what they were.
The feast not even being half done, Gary pronounced he was full. It was too long of a day, and he was bushed. Gary went over to his horse.
"Well, time to go hit the hay, where are you going to sleep?"
The horse looked at him, "Right here, under the stars. I always loved the stars."
Gary looked up, it was beautiful, nothing like that of earth's stars. And yet, it oddly did look familiar, he wondered if all the books put together could actually produce this type of beauty. It had to, he was looking at it right now.
"I would love to join you, if it is all right?" Gary asked.
The horse looked back at the stars, "You know, no one has ever asked to watch the stars with me, sure you can. There is a blanket in the satchel on my back."
Gary took out this huge blanket, and watched as the horse laid on the ground. Gary cuddled up right beside the horses head and looked up at the sky.
Just then a huge falling star blazed across the sky. Gary and the horse ooed and aaahed. It was a dazzling display the night brought on.
The horse told him of constellations, and stories of certain stars. Gary didn't know how a simple horse could know so much.
"What is your name?" he asked, after a long silence.
"I don't know. Humans have given me many names, but none of them suited me."
"Well, why don't you name yourself."
There was another pause, "I don't feel I would give myself the right name, I suppose."
"Well, I feel a bit rude calling you horse all the time. Do you mind, if I name you?"
The horse looked over at him, "If you wish."
Gary thought. He had never been good at names, especially those of pets, or talking horses. Then gary remembered, the Bill and Ted theory. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, weren't they part of a rock and roll band.
Gary thought so, what was their names, it was something cool, something like....
"Wyld Stallions," Gary said aloud, then laughed.
The horse looked at him confused.
"Sorry, umm, well, I shouldn't call you Stallions, doesn't make sense. So what about Wyld, is that a good name?"
The horse said nothing, looking back up to the sky. He seemed to think for quite some time.
"Yes, yes I like that name, Wyld. I will be called Wyld from now on."
Gary smiled, as he closed his eyes, it had been a long day, and tomorrow was going to be worse. Gary went to sleep.

A painted and camaflouged figure snuck into the clearing."What the hell is this?" he asked.

Duke: I was correct about the time. it was approximatle 9:45 and they we're taking the picture of everyone presant at the constuction compleation. i stood next to my grand father and when it was finished i started for the nearest Deli and Ordered a large Ham Sandwitch and some of the old world fries they had. ah They we're right about sandwitches being better back in these days, why i could almost live here....but i need to get back to my own world and time. i paid the man finished my meal and headed for those elves, i wanted to talk to them for a bit with herb lore.... as i reached the clearing they all seemed done with dinner, i re-put on my armor and smiled at the stars...so beutiful...i took out my glasses and looked around. looks like i missed the elves today...darn..well i'll catch em to morrow...i leaned against the tree and closed my eyes,

The cloaked figure snuck up behind Vixen and put a standard issue commando knife to her throat,"Now, I usually don't like to do this to women, but I want to know what the hell is happening. We're in the middle of World War 2 and there are a bunch of people with armor on them. So tell me, please what the hell is going on, whisper to me", the commando told her.

Vixen was very unimpressed. A knife? She heard the whispered command and reacted as only she would. She elbowed the man hard in his ribs while at the same time grabing his wrist, executing a swift turn and pulling him over her shoulder. She pulled out her twin daggers and shoved her knee into his chest as she held them crossed against his throat. He looked up at her in pained surprise.

"What the hell happened to your face?" Vixen asked the man who was covered in green, brown and black smugdes of camoflage make-up. He scowled back at her. She scowled down at him. Mexican stand-off. "Fine, don't answer, but be warned, I'm not averse to killing you right here!"

He quickly lashed out with a grab at her wrist and sent both knives flying. Then he punched her in the face and pulled out a pistol and pointed it at her."Okay, so you can fight, but let's see you beat up a bullet", he whispered to her.

Joe grabbed the soilders arm." Wait a minute;. she's cool. She's with me." she said ulling his arm down.'we had a run n with some guys whpo tried t take our stuuff. I'm joe do you have aname?"
Joe nudged Vixen."It's cool. he thinks your a ad guy. frm a war in our world. "
Joe sat between the soilder and Vixen. she lloked down in her hand. when had she carved this stick. SHE threw it into the fire.

"Okay, now I want to know just what the hell you people are doing in armor and swords when the battle of Okhenberg Cauldron is about to start? I am a scout from the American's. You look American", he said, holstering his pistol."My name is Dima, my family came from Russia, you see. I was born in America, though", he told her.

"Dima, " joe said,"Your having a bad day. HIS IS another world. Don't ask" Joe knew f DIma. He was in one of her favorite books. he knew what happened to him as well." We are a group trying to go home. You can join us or not."
Joe walked over tothe Profesor. he sat beside him and set her head on his shoulder. He was completely into te story he was reading. Joe drifted to sleep but not before she felt Ra nudge her and say" SLEEP now my queen, tommorrow we fight again."

OOC: I am honored to be one of your favorites.

IC: Dima pulled out a candybar and walked over to Joe. "You wouldn't happen to have any real food, would you?" he asked, pointing at the chcolate.

Joe smile."Lok in the bag on Ra's saddle. There should be some food in it." Joe found she couldn't sleep. sh watched as Dima got some food from her bag. Joe leaned against her tree and stared at the skys.
She begain to sin softly.
~ In your dreams magical thoughts. All things are real unless you dream their not. In your dreams love is the key carried on wings of hope. Each of our souls intertwine when we do. Instently we see the time to grow and be it when everything is spend on our hearts. Then rise the wings of your heart when inocent youth careless and kind, free to rome the great divide only when two brilently shine as one...~
Joe watched as the tars eemed to dance.she felt Ra gentley ndge her.she reached up and pet him. Dima sat down next to her.

"So, I still want to know what you are doing in this area? the battle is to begin in three days", he said, sitting down next to Joe.

Joe shrugged. "I don't know. we where transported here."
Joe watched the stars they seemed to be dancing in the nightt sky. She watched them as they danced.

OOC: hate to break up this really interesting conversation you have been having, but this thing has more than two people involved.

IC:
Gary woke up, it was just dawn. He looked with excitement at the new day. Gary got up, stretching the sleep out of his system. He went over to the banquet hall to look for some breakfast. The feat last ngiht had tons of leftovers. Gary helped himself to some meat and bread, and more of that purplish stuff, it was soo good. Gary looked to see if anyone else was awake, only Vixen. She was off cleaning her weapons, Gary laughed, yep, thats what she did, at dawn. You could set your watch to her.
Gary went back to Wyld, seeing he was awake as well.
"Morning," he said.
"Morning to you," Wyld replied, getting up and shaking the grass off of his body. Gary looked behind the horse. There was a rather weird bump in the road.
Gary took a step closer, wanting to get a better look, what in the world was it? Gary tapped the horse, "what is that?"
The horse looked, and simply said, "A tuffet."
"Tuffet? what in the hell is a..."
As if to answer his question a little girl came out, holding a bowl of something, and abruptly sat upon the stump like object.
Gary got it, "Excuse me, miss," he called, she looked up at him, "Is your name Miss Muffet?"
She smiled, putting her curds and whey down, "It surely is."
She had a southern accent, Gary always thought she had a southern accent, "And what are you eating there?"
"Why some delicious curds and whey, would you like some?"
Gary laughed, he thought this was all too funny. He rolled on the still wet grass, waking pretty much everyone up.
"Hey, come on," the professor said, going back to sleep.
"All we need now is a..."
He didn't finish, out of a large bush of trees stood a fifty foot spider. It's fangs dripping what looked like saliva, but to Gary it was venom, evil venom.
"VIXEN!" he didn't know who else to call. I mean there wasn't a spider infestation helpline anywhere near him.
Wyld whinied then ran off to a distance, Gary took the hint, running would be a good thing to do. He saw in the corner of his eyes as Little Miss Muffet was scared away herself.
He ran to the other side of the field, looking on. That was one big spider. A huge spider, able to kill anything, even horses.
"Gary, come on, we should help," Gary nodded, knowing the horse was right. He got on it, then ran back to camp, the others had taken weapons.
"You aren't going to fight it, we can run away, see it doesn't even see us yet."
Gary watched in awe as the thing took Muffet up in it's huge jaws and ate her. He hadn't heard that part of the story before *(this is fiction, we all know how spiders really eat, but for the benefit of the story, work with me people).

"What the hell?" asked Dima and sprang up with his pistol. "Geez", he said, eyeing the spider. He began shooting it's eyes out. Then he shot it in the center of the head, splattering it's brains."That was one bigass spider!" he shouted.

OOC: Sorry, nobody else except for us was writing.

Joe watched as Little Miss muffet got eaten.
"Well, that was......different."
Joe looked around the camp. Vixe sat cleaning her weapons. Joe nodded to her. The Professor was reading a book. Gary was re-evaluating his life. The geneal/duke/she couldn't rember was eating. DIa was shooting atanything that moved.
Ra came up behind her and nudged her in the bck."Look!"
Joe looked onto the horizen.
"Oh, Crap!"
"Professor, we got company." she said.
"That's nice, Joe. Look at the art work on these arrows.'" he said.
"Pro..Fessor!",Joe said saking him." what is my favorite book?"
"STArgate. Why?" He asked looking up.
"Oh, no reason. Just the troop of JAFFA HEADING THIS WAY!!!" she yelled.

Gary rode Wyld up to the man. He gave him an evil glare.
"You seem to know a lot about killing giant evil spiders for being nothing but a world war 2 soldier."
The man said nothing, Gary could see he was embarrased, "I am watching you."
Gary rode off, Wyld snicked.
"What?" he said.
"You aren't going to watch him, are you."
Gary snickered himself, "No, I am not. He is going to become paranoid though, thinking I am.
Wyld rode up to the stream, Gary looked back at the man, eating breakfast, why would he lie about who he was? Gary had to find out, there were tons of liers in tons of books. There was no way he was going to find out which one.
Wyld got a cool drink, as Gary took a bath, the day was becoming hot, so he decided he was going to cool off before they had to go to the library palace.
When he felt cleaner Gary and Wyld rode back to camp. He could see Vixen was getting the other ready, they were about to leave.
Off in the distance there was a rumbling. Gary went over to the profesor and Joe.
"OK, so how ni the world do we stop this one?" the professor asked.
"I don't suppose super soldier can kill them all for us, can he?" Gary gave another mean glare over to him, the man said nothing.
Vixen came up to them, "Well, Joe, you know what this is, how do we stop it?"
Gary listened in too, this was going to be good.
