I'm so sad today..someone that I care very deeply about has dropped of the face of the planet...which is so unlike him... he has never done this before...

i haven't heard from him since wednesday night and I'm just sick...this is so unlike him.... so very much unlike him...I'm worried sick

Ugh...I've been through that. One of my best friends, whom I know almost exclusively through online interaction (we've only met once in our lives)...she once dropped out of contact for two months. She did resurface, however, and turned out that she just needed the break for her mental health...and she apologized for causing me any consternation.

I hope that this situation with your friend is also nothing so serious, and that it gets resolved the way that mine did.

Ugh...I've been through that. One of my best friends, whom I know almost exclusively through online interaction (we've only met once in our lives)...she once dropped out of contact for two months. Me too...and I'm not sure he knows the depths for which I care about him...it hurts me to my soul that I havent heard from him for this long and now I'm worried that he's gone from my life for good and I never will be able to tell him

Unfortunately, its a common occurance here at lit. I have experienced several times, and multiples times with the same person in his various nicks. Wednesday isn't that long ago. Longest my kindred spirit has disappeared, at least openly, was 19 months, he is at 13 months currently...

The good ones try to find their was back, and its been my experience that its them not us. They know how we feel or at least suspect, they watch us sometimes too.

I would hope he wouldnt do that...but who knows...all I know is this is so out of his normal behavior..he has always in the past let me know if he was going out of town or wouldnt be around....hes very considerate...

Its complicated, I understand what he is doing, what's happening. Doesn't mean I like it, or agree with it. It really upsets me at times, but we are obviously still linked, so yes he is still my kindred spirit as I am his.

Mine was like that years ago when he was well. He would tell me if he was going to be away for a day, a conference, whatever. Then he became unwell, he tried to protect me for a long time, he lost a lot, depression and mental illness suck. I understand the waiting and praying, or in my case wishing on stars...

I hope your wait is short, and nothing like mine has been.
