We had that when we moved in. Stripped one wall of wallpaper, easy as pie. But the second wall had a good 10 layers of the stuff stuck on it, going back 30-40 years. Was interesting but such hard work!

Felt awesome when it was done though. Even if my back was a nightmare for a few days afterwards.

Am sure your project will be worth the effort too.

Yes, that's exactly the feeling. I feel a bit like an archaeologist!

And, after removing ten layers of wallpaper, I think you have every right to have your back be a nightmare! Although you probably also had the added bonus of your room being half a foot larger. ;)

It definitely made the room feel far more open and airy when it was gone, that's for sure!

And archaeologists are cool.

nods

Very!

walks in grumpily, wanders to kitchen, pours a coffee, adds fixings, wanders out, flops down on an empty couch

yes its a coffee sorta morning :(

wearily follows in behind with a cup of chai tea and a bowl of grits

I really did not want to wake up today.

Collapses into a chair

That took way longer than it should have. :/

Sorry to hear that lovely!

peeks over at saint

what are grits?

giggles

You know, I've heard them mentioned so many time and hadn't a clue what they were either!

chuckles a bit and flops down on the couch

It is kinda like a porridge made from ground corn. It is the staple of a southern(American) breakfast. I love them.

Oooh, sounds good!

I'm not a big fan of grits.

Biscuits and gravy, now...that's good eatin'.

It's also death on a plate, but what a way to go.

Ok, this is another one I always mean to ask about and don't. Would you enlighten me on what exactly this other, much mentioned, food is?

flutters lashes

Please.

Ok, so biscuits over here are more like English scones than English biscuits - they're soft and kind of fluffy, but still fairly dense.

In biscuits and gravy, the biscuits are covered in a whitish, flour-based gravy made with milk, cooked sausage (sometimes just the drippings), and usually small chunks of meat (again, often sausage, but sometimes American-style bacon, ground beef, or whatever's close at hand), and then seasoned heavily with black pepper.

It's a heart attack on a plate, sugar. You may as well schedule an appointment with your cardiologist so they can scrub the plaque out of your veins after eating it lol.

smiles guiltily

I can imagine! Although we had a full 'English' for breakfast this morning, which I doubt was all that good for us either.

Wow, I was the first? People are slacking!

I'm good! Having one of those overachieving days, I've been up since six. How are you?

snickers

It would seem so!

And I kinda like days like those, it's odd how much you achieve just by being 'up and about' that much earlier.

I'm good. Managed an epic post that was owed and now just have one more 'til I'm caught up. Sunny day, lots of silliness with the little witches.

smiles

A good day.
