A poignant entry

My lover and I are no longer "together." Circumstances conspired to change our situation, and she and I had to end our relationship. Despite that...I know that our love lives on, even as we search for love elsewhere.

Although it's been about six months...I wrote this poem for her, to express how I feel:

Breathless

I look up at the night sky
and think of Her
and the air rushes from my lungs
leaving me gasping
as if I have been launched
into the cold, dark vacuum of Space.

My vision blurs
and I see the stars above
twinkling like merry fires
mocking me
for everyone knows
that fires cannot burn
where there is no air to breathe.


Here is what she wrote for me:

The full moon shone over the treetops last night.
Peace surrounded me.
And even with the joy in my life.
That loss is still there.

Love endures.
Although the future may not be intertwined.
Great love can mean great loss.
But the heart's capacity to heal
is everlasting.

She will always love me, no matter what. She told me so, and I believe her...because I now know that despite all that has and might come to pass, I will always love her.

And even with the pain of losing her...I am also forever thankful that she came into my life, if only for a little while.

She has aroused passion, love and fire in me, feelings that I was never expecting to give to her.
Like many, I came to Lit for light relief. I have been on here for quite a few years and in all that time, I have only spoken with a few people, never cyberred and only posted on a few of the PG threads and read stories.
A chance conversation with a genuinely friendly, warm woman turned into something more. Now, she has stolen my heart, no, that's not true, it wasn't stolen, I gave it willingly, completely.
Kendra, you know I love you, I want everyone else to know it too. I want to shout it from the rooftops - so there can be no doubts or confusion.

I revel in your love, I am amazed by your words and your heart. I am blessed to be so fortunate as to meet a woman such as you. I wish I had more words, better words for you. I love you is not enough.

It's funny how people believe the eloquence of the words are what matters when in reality, WHAT is being said is the part that captures the heart!

To add my own few words...

From the first nervous moments to hands that always found each other to eyes that could melt my heart...

From lips that felt like perfection to legs as smooth as silk to an ass I can't keep my hands off of...

From sharing our lives, as full of hurt as they may be, to 5 hour phone calls and 147.5 miles...

From tears on the interstate when you go south and I north to getting a case on our night together that shows me your strength and compassion to sterling silver bracelets...

From connecting like no two people ever have, my friend, my lover, my love, and my puzzle piece...

I love you, forever. I look forward to the rest of our lives with each other.

Now *that* was beautiful...

I hope his heart still melts for me...I just don't think I could live with losing him. I never EVER want to make him lose his faith or trust in me. I started living on the day he gave me his love. I don't ever want to lose that.
