The moon

Your version is just as nonsensical as any other version. The god character is proposed to be all powerful and all knowing. If he wanted humans with free will, moral conscience and understanding, he could just create them that way by default.
That would be boring. Imagine yourself as a being that can do anything and knows everything. Eternity would suck and drive us mere mortals insane. So It invented a way to experience everything from many imperfect perspectives. And made Itself forget everything except from those perspectives. And compartmentalized those experiences to create the equivalent of reality TV. To entertain Itself.

Just a hypothesis. It's probably something I would do. If this is similar to what is actually going on, then as this incarnation, I just want to say FUCK YOU. Not YOU, TastySuckToy. The entity that needed us so that It could pass eternity more comfortably. We could all be in a state of eternal orgasm. Just saying.

You could just be dead and gone.
Nobody seems to like that perspective though

God didn’t want toys or puppets. He wanted moral actors who could decide right or wrong for themselves. Or that’s the lesson I choose to take from Genesis. If there is a God He wants us to take responsibility for ourselves.
That doesn't refute my point. The omnipotent god can just create beings that exist that way by default.

That's the problem with proposing an omnipotent being. "Because I said so" becomes the unbeatable argument of what the omnipotent being can do.

The defining thing that pretty much every human agrees on, is that we're all gonna die. The problem we all face, is what happens afterward. There's been some speculation on the subject. I'm hoping for reincarnation but probably gonna get nothingness. Unless there is irrefutable evidence to the contrary, I have a shot at reincarnation.

Not really a problem.
A fear, perhaps

There is no evidence except death.
Making up shit seems to help though

That's your human perspective in action. It's never explicitly stated, that I'm aware of, that a godlike being can't get bored.
I never claimed an omnipotent being cannot be bored. I said it being bored would be a choice.

Proposing an omnipotent being having a state of boredom imposed upon it violates the very definition of omnipotent.

Well, I didn't make that choice. As an inferior being (or fragment of a higher consciousness' perspective) I can only speculate. We're in the Matrix, Neo. Maybe.

An omnipotent being, by It's very nature, can decide to restrict Itself.

True. The concept of limitation would be a self imposed state.

You can actually test this yourself: try to imagine a rock so massive that your imagination cannot move your imagined rock. 'Limitation' in that frame of reference would have to be self imposed and practically meaningless.

Reminds me of one of the more interesting short stories I read, which started with the premise that the only interesting question with any possibility of uncertainty to an omnipotent being, is whether or not it had enough power to destroy itself. A paradoxical concept of infinite power trying to destroy infinite power.

The story proposed the resulting force of that attempt created and caused a cosmological event that created what we call reality, and everything since then has been the infinite power being slowly rebuilding itself.

Cute and entertaining concept. 😄

My completely unhinged Theory of the Universe is a lab experiment that went horribly wrong and here we are. "God" is a couple of inept lab techs. I call them Jules and Xzyfggg. His friends called him Ziggy.

I think god made things to be exactly the way they are contradictions and all. I dont think hes paying attention to us right now. More like hes recording. Hell see everything all at once. No multiverse or alternate time lines but he will see all the millions of turns our lives may have taken. None of the worlds religions are the right one.

What if god is just a guy who took credit and people believed him.

Even proposing the existence of any god is utterly nonsensical. What created this god?

If this god didn't need a creator, you just utterly destroyed the very premise for invoking such a god in the first place: needing a creator for a state of existence.

Well find out when we die.

Well find out when we die.
Been there, three times. And by that I mean 1) before I was conceived, 2) near death 'experience' (for lack of a better term), and 3) under anesthetic.

All three events shared the exact same thing: absolute nothingness that has no definition except for my recovered/waking state realizing that "I" did not exist for a period of time.

Reincarnation depends on a multitude of factors, number 1 being if we're temporarily overbooked here at The Hotel.

Because while there's a slim chance at redemption, doubling down on your debauchery only guarantees permanent residence here some day.

Are you sure it was "God" who did it?

Perhaps someone else might have decided to make life hell on earth. Just for laffs.
