Nearly 2 hours of cardio. Freaking Awesome! :)

I talked my SO into doing a Zumba class. Typically, he's more of an elliptical or treadmill kind of guy. I think he might have been a tad...surprised...at the intensity. There was a lot of clock watching, and saying things like, "A third of the way through."

He stopped 38 minutes in due to a blister. :D

How straight do you claim to be?

not sure, honestly. I thought it was awkward phrasing too. I do ID as straight, but I don't really go around making declarations about it, or like...the exact number I consider myself on a sliding scale. I just be what I be, and I don't even TALK about my own sex/sexuality except around certain friends I'm comfortable with (and, obviously, strangers on the internet :p)

I suppose she assumed degree of straight based on comments I made, and when I made further comments that challenged that it was note-worthy? regardless, her facial expression was pretty funny

OMG! What a ghastly, ghastly day. :(

I've had 2 chocolate besan burfi. Now I'm now heading to the treadmill, which I plan to stay on until my legs start shaking or I pass out. Whichever comes first....

So there was a white wine I wanted but procuring it was going to prove difficult. It was the first bottle produced by my Alma Mater's viticulture program and only available on campus.

Then there was a red wine I wanted produced by an alumnus winery to support scholarships. I could either buy the alumni wine club membership and be guaranteed a bottle, or wait until the official release this weekend and try to buy any surplus IF there was any surplus.

I opted for the club membership, cheapest level, two bottles.

The box arrived today; the scholarship red as promised AND the student produced white. I was never happier to receive a bottle of wine I might never drink.

GO COUGS!!

There's always tomorrow :)
Where do you get said deliciousness, anyway?
Restated, what the heck is that stuff?

Ooops! Sorry, didn't see this!

I got it from a trendy Indian restaurant. :D

It’s labeled as chickpea fudge flavored with cardamom and topped with pumpkin and sunflower seeds. I chose the ones with the chocolate ganache option. :catroar:

For further clarification, chickpea fudge = gram flour (chickpeas/garbanzo beans), condensed milk and sugar.

For even further clarification, it’s NOM! These particular ones are even better than dark chocolate caramels, my one serious vice.

I'm guessing all that means no gluten!?
Dangerously delicious! :D

From what I understand, a LOT of authentic Indian food is gluten-free. I'm tempted to say "most", but I don't think I know enough about it.

I was at an "International" market this past weekend. Tons of gluten free flours like chick pea and almond and... ok, I can't remember any of the others :D but it did strike me that they had a LOT of gluten free flours for sale there.

So what I'm saying is that I accept your statement, even though you say you aren't sure about it :p

Damn it, I wish I had never read her post. Then I wouldn't have known, wouldn't have realized, wouldn't have hurt...

Can I blame someone else for my own wishful naiveté?

I had my morning tea from a cup that's ugly as hell and I only use when all the nice ones are dirty. Turns out people actually pay big money for those mugs. 200-250 euros a piece. I have four.

I had no idea there are people who actually collect dishware, I mean I knew people collect antique plates and so on, but mine are from the 80s-90s. After finding out such things can actually be worth something, I got googling. Apparently I eat my morning yoghurt with a 20 euro spoon from an 80 euro bowl.

Listening to the radio this morning, the young guy announced a news piece about Glen Campbell, and I could hear him choking up. I was surprised because the guy could only be in his twenties, on a hip young radio station, and Glen Campbell is not even my generation, more my parents.

But then he played the song and explained the story behind it, and sure enough, it choked me up too....

"After a 50-plus-year career, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” is as profound and moving of a farewell as one could ever hope to offer. The piano-led, slightly twangy ballad finds Campbell battling his ailment the only way he can: by finding some sort of solace in the fact that all this pain and heartache set to befall him won’t phase him. “All the things I’ll say or do / All the hurt and all the pain / One thing selfishly remains / I’m not gonna miss you,” he croons, his slightly haggard voice filled with a devastating concoction of hopelessness and utter relief. It’s sad and beautiful and will no doubt leave you as a weepy pile; in short, the very essence of what Campbell’s accomplished in his iconic career."

I'm not gonna miss you

But does it make your yoghurt or tea taste any better? :)
If you enjoyed the dishware it might...
I suggest you sell them and buy something you admire, and use them every day! I use my good stuff every day. I don't believe in keeping things boxed up somewhere, or just sitting in a cupboard. You are already doing it accidentally, now buy something you like and do it on purpose! :D

I was robbed (in a judged competition, that is). Finishing second really, truly, sucks.

You only came in second because we didn't get to vote! :p

I'm down to 4 weeks. 4 weeks.

Would it help if you thought about that as 28 days?
No, wait. That sounds way worse...
