The Official Authors' Hangout Halloween 2022 Contest Support Thread

I have gone to the list of submissions ... and I am reading many of them ... but I really wanted to be sure I got to the people who are posting here :)

I don't think I saw a story on the list from Imstillfun? I will try the search tag idea too though!

i'm legit laughing at this comment on mine:

"Interesting premise.
Bad, from my persective, story.
Nothing erotic about it to me.
Just pain. And some degredation.
Two stars."

i had no clue getting fingered and pegged by a professional femdom while you're not allowed to make a sound WASN'T erotic! i'm on the wrong site hehe.

pretty positive feedback so far though, i think! thanks a bunch for commenting DarkRaven13!

I am interested in seeing how the sweeps changes scores.
You will see what the ultimate sweep does to your own story(ies) on the morning of October 28th. There may be minor sweeps before then, but the ultimate sweep is done not long before the results are announced. You will never really know the full extent of what the sweeps do to stories other than your own, though (nor be able to capture the full picture on our own stories), because the final result is a moment of time only known by the contest administrator and changing by the time anyone else sees anything. And if you want to know how scores, in general, change for other stories in the contest, you have to monitor those stories separately yourself (and the number you see probably will never be the actual number at that moment.)

This.

The Heisenberg Uncertainty Sweep Principle. You can never know the actual cause and effect.

Prepared to be ecstatic, then. On average, you'll go up more than that. In the past, I have experienced going up nearly a whole 1.0.

Monitoring contest scoring is the same as trying to catch water with a fish net.

I would like to take the high road and say I don't care about winning, it is just fun to be a part of it all.

But it would be a lie, I want to win, I want to be successful, and I want to write better.

Yes, well. I'm more impressed by winning a legitimately constructed and conducted contest. This one's fun, but a real contest of quality writing and story telling, it ain't. And that's not sour grapes. I've won a couple of these themed contests here.

I am sure someone of your experience.

But I am an old man who is also a rookie writer. Hell I will be ecstatic with a top 5. But I can always dream.

If you read mine (Amorous Goods: The Anklet Pair), leave a comment. You can even say "This was crap!" I've heard worse.

I'm trying to read as many of the Halloween contest stories as I can. I've gone through most of each person's stories here...I think I still need to read one from Lifestyle66. Who have I missed? Once I get 1 of each person's, then I can start on those who have more than 1. :)
How do we know who you have missed?

I tend to comment on every story I read. So if you have not seen a comment from me, then I have not gotten to it yet.

(Note - I can comment on the story via the comment box. However, for some reason ... yesterday, Lit started sending me a notification that they thought I was spamming whenever I tried to send a pvt message to an author on their story. I have no idea why, and am trying to get the issue resolved. I think perhaps there was 1 author that I tried to send 2 pvt messages in a row, as I wanted to tell the person one more thing about their story ...perhaps a double pvt to them made the Lit message thingy think I was sending spam?)

I’ve had the same thing happen and have been unable to resolve it. Don’t know why.

I'll look forward to reading your comment when you get to mine... here's hoping you'll be kind

Ok, my story was rejected. I have not had a story rejected since I started publishing. Who wants to read it and give me some insight.

I'll read it if you want. I probably won't get to it until late tonight or tomorrow though.

They didn't send you a message as to why? If you go to sent back stories, then click on the title as if you were going to edit it, the reason why it was sent back should appear
