The Outlook

She laughed softly, "Milady Luna, I have watched you for some time. You won't make me uncomfortable I assure you. Being intelligent, I daresay you have or will, if ever curious, peek at my SRP Profile and realize I'm as straight as they come. I'm just not comfortable with women, for the most part. But I do thank you with a great deal of appreciation for taking the time to explain."

A small grin, a quick wink.

"It was my pleasure. I mislike making people feel uncomfortable and I did not want you to think that I hadn't noticed your gracious self. Thank you for understanding."

Tossing back the rest of my drink and whistling for my server to get the empty glass

Heh, Light Ice is a gentleman, not a lady.

Husky laughter
LI is NO gentleman but he is definitely all male.
A wide smile for my friend

I stand corrected, it seems, and I will be glad for it when I stop troubling myself to read through the nonsense to find gems like Freak and Luna.

More laughter as I head for the Inn
You love it, LI. Don't fib! Am off to seek a Muse and drag her away to someplace quiet.

Hello Kay. Good to see you.

Walks over and sits by her.

She blushed and bowed her head a little, biting her bottom lip.

"Uhm... not to sound rude or anything... Avellan," her voice was soft and reverberated the inferiority she felt, comparatively speaking, to a man. "... but I was invited to sit here by Fr33k." she glanced at Fr33k and her blush grew further. "You might want to ask if it's okay..."

It has its ups and downs...it's good to have a way to pay the bills though.

Not a bad time at all. Ice was simply voicing his opinion regarding the current turn the Outlook has taken. Though I feel I must mention that if he had read Aus' opening post, the things occurring now are not too terribly far off from what she intended with the thread.

*chuckles a bit, having just missed Ice's post* And it appears he has read it now. No harm, no foul.

She turned back to Fr33k and giggled.

"God, what I wouldn't give to pay my own bills and dictate my own life," she sighed. "In due time, I am sure, in due time..."

She nodded as Fr33k explained away the situation: she was almost certain a giant argument was about to break out, but was relieved it hadn't, and further relieved that she just misunderstood what had transpired while she was away.

Yes, due time is all that's required. Well, that and finding a job when the time comes...

*He looked toward Avellan and back to Kay* He doesn't need my permission to sit next to you, though if you prefer he didn't feel free to tell him. I'm sure he'd understand.

I'm sure it will happen in due time, I am 24 and have only really started to come into my own.

Walks away and heads back to the bar.

Another drink barkeep.

Heads back to the Island temporarily while he waits for his drink.

"I've been looking for over a year," she sighed. "Got to love a horrible economy." she giggled.

With his second comment about Avellan what trace of a smile she had faded entirely. Her eyes went down and her hands balled into little fists: a sort of coping mechanism.

She suddenly felt guilty, so, without word, she stood and walked out of the outlook through the front door. She walked a few steps down the path and decided to just sit there, on the cold concrete walkway. She hugged her knees and shook her head.

'Jesus christ, Kay, you've done it now,' she thought viciously to herself. 'Way to go...'

Arrives back from the Island, head to the bar, and gets his drink.

Sorry for leaving suddenly. Had to take care of matters at the Island.

Checks his watch and sees that it's getting late.

Well I have to leave. See you all tomorrow.

*Her sudden seriousness and departure left him curious as to what he'd said or done to upset her. He rose from his seat and made his way out to look for her. He saw her huddled on a walkway leading out to another set of stairs to the beach. Stooping down beside her, he reached out to lift her head at her chin*

What's the matter, Kay? Did I say something to offend you?

Her eyes were teary.

"Sorry," she whispered sharply through a hard inhale: choking back her tears. "N.. No... you d-didn't..." she stuttered. That made her feel worse, like an idiot, she wished she could drop her head again; instead, she looked away with her eyes.

"I..." she gulped and closed her eyes. "I just... I don't know..."

She sighed, opening her eyes again, looking up at him.

"He's... been bothering me for a while... and... I guess I'm just... too nice to..." she paused again to gather her faculties, a tear escaped from her eyes. Why was she crying? she was an idiot... an absolute idiot! "... I didn't want to hurt his feelings... but... I wanted to talk to you alone... I..." she sniffled a little. "Jesus, you probably think I'm an idiot, blubbering over something so pointless..."

She watched Kay flee from the room, a frown marring her forehead and sighed softly. She worried about the shy miss. She truly did. She saw Fr33k go after her and knew he would see to her. She just hoped that.... she gave a little shake of her head and reminded herself it was not her concern. She turned to give James her attention.

"Oh you know, the little things like, where you're from, what spurred you on to become one and what your ideal first date would be like."

She shrugged, "I like to spill blood? Fight for the innocent? Why does anyone become a warrior? Simply put, for me, I was born to it. It was my calling for as long as I can remember. It just is. As for first dates, I have no ideals. I have no expectations, therefore, no ideals. As for where I'm from? Worlds away from here."

*He wiped away the tears that managed to find their way to her cheeks. A tender smile met her gaze, and held her eyes though she sought to avert them*

You're not an idiot Kay, just a gentle heart. You don't want to cause strife, so you let things go. But if you do not share attraction with him, then you must inform him so that he knows the boundaries. Otherwise you'll keep finding yourself in situations like this. Now come on, it's getting chilly out here.

*His hand slipped from her chin and held a supportive position; an offer to help her rise from her current position*

"Ah, a sort of macabre nobility, loving to cause pain to the wicked."
