The Outlook

*Rolling his head in a circle, feeling the slow popping of his vertebrae release some of the tension in his neck, he took the steps up the backside of the Outlook slowly. He strode down the hall of rooms and out into the lounge, where his eyes found both Kay and Caitlin having some afternoon coffee. He wandered to the bar, finding a blended beverage waiting on him. They had remembered! He took the glass and took a seat on the couch next to Kay, smiling at both her and Cait*

Hello ladies, how goes it today?

"It's going well," she said with a grin. She turned her cup of iced coffee slowly in her hand, bowing her head and focusing on it: her smile still remaining. "Did you sleep alright?"

[be back in a bit: the RW is calling me]

I slept very well. Thankfully, I still managed to rouse myself for work. I debated just rolling over though...

*He laughed quietly, bringing his drink to his lips. The smooth texture and flavor of it was refreshing. A satisfied sigh escaped him as he set it down on the table next to the couch*

"Ahhh, well, I'm glad that's all it was then." She sipped her coffee and enjoyed the morning.

She grinned at Fr33k and winked, "As it usually is, darlin'." She glanced from one to the other and hastily finished her coffee, setting aside her empty mug, "I think I'll go for a walk. I'll catch up with you two later." With a quick wave of her hand, she ran lightly down the stairs that would take her to the beach, pausing only long enough to remove her sandals and let them dangle from her fingertips as she sauntered toward the dock, lifting her face to sky and sun.

Reaching the end of the pier and letting her sandals drop gently to the wood beneath her feet, she stood a moment, inhaling deeply, feeling the sea's energy reach into the very depths of her soul and slowly expelling it, feeling better and more balanced. A moment more perhaps and she sat at the end of the pier, letting her legs dangle over the end as she leaned back on her hands. Raising her face to the sky, closing her eyes, her hair cascading down her back, she smiled. For no reason, really. Simply because she could.

She giggled. "I keep keeping you up... I apologize." she bowed her head slightly, a smile still brightening her features. She thumbed the rim of her cup, glancing down into its contents. "Sorry about last night as well... blubbering and all of that..." she whispered: her lips twitched at the edges from trying to keep herself lighthearted about the manner; her thumbs still tracing away and towards each other on the rim of her glass.

"You kept your promise though, so, thank you," she giggled at her glass. "I'm glad you came back."

You're not keeping me up any later than I normally stay up. No worries. And you don't have to apologize about being emotional. It happens.

*He smiled at her fidgeting, stealing her cup and seizing her hands after setting it to the side.* Are you nervous about something? Or do you always do that with your coffee when you're through?

*His eyes were kind and the hold his hands had on hers was gentle. There had to be a way to make her comfortable, or more comfortable as the case may be*

She nodded. There wasn't anything she could say, really.

She watched him nab her cup and held his hands in hers. "Nervous? No, of course not," she giggled. "I... just fidget a lot..." It was half true: she did fidget a lot, but she was still a little nervous even though she felt there was charisma between them. She looked up into his eyes, her little quirky smile coming back to her lips.

"You said you had to work this weekend... even on Easter?" she asked just to offer some form of conversation. She wasn't what one would call religious, though, she did often stay up late at night pondering who was up there controlling everything... it was probably aliens. Her family, however... oyvey, they were scary... they were convinced the end was neigh every time the wind blew.

I see. *He smirked a bit at the thought of other things that might make her fidget*

Yes, even on Easter. That company knows no religion, only holiday that place is closed on is Christmas and that's only because there'd be a mass revolt if it wasn't. I'm not particularly religious though, so it's not that big a deal. I would love to have my weekends to myself again, however. *He shrugged a bit and sighed wistfully* Oh well, I'll find a new job eventually. I have been looking and applying.

I had left the Inn, once I looked up and saw that absolutely no one was there. My feet had taken me toward the Outlook, toward the sand, the sea, the silence. Almost all of my owed posts were up so I had a moment to breathe. Placing my laptop in a water proof bag, I stripped down by the rocky outcropping I called home. Placing clothing and my lap top in a hidden spot, I made my way toward the surf and stepped into the coolness. It felt like coming home.

I struck out strongly, diving into oncoming waves and being pummelled by the untamed energy each one contained. It was heaven. I had forgotten, in all my time, how much I loved the feeling of being controlled by something more vast than myself. The ocean provided, like always. Eventually, I surfaced and floated on my back. The sun felt good on my skin. I was happy.

"Jeeze." she commented. "I hope you find another place to work at."

She looked down at their hands.

"Me either, really... I mean, I suppose there's something out there... I just... don't want to put a name on it, plus there are just too many inconsistencies and contradictions in the bible for me to level-headedly agree to..." she shrugged and giggled. "If I said that in the general area of my parents though... gosh, I'd probably get walloped."

She giggled a little and looked up again, letting go of his hand momentarily to force a curl that was dangling in her peripheral vision behind her ear.

[Ugh: RW taking me away again, I'll be back in a few hours]

I share your views on that particular text. But those things are better left to others for discussion. So, let us change the subject. Music, perhaps?

*He smiled briefly as she repositioned her hair. He let that hand remain free, but the other was held by his in a warm grasp that was firm, yet not demanding.*

Eventually, I returned to the beach. My body was tired. Stepping onto terra firma, I looked for my towel and used it to dry the water from my skin. Then I searched for a spot to catch some sun. I wasn't ready to go to the Outlook proper, but I was close enough, if anyone happened to see me and want to talk. I stretched out, five feet of muscled curves and let the sun ease the tensions of words, away.

It was so peaceful.

*Some glint on the waves brought his vision to the beach, brow furrowing to see past the glare of the water. A familiar figure was reclining on the sand, or more properly, on a towel. The figure's head swiveled toward the Outlook's lounge, and a glint of hazel shone. He raised his free hand and waved. She'd come over and say hi when she was ready*

There is a jumble of impressions, things barely recalled. My brain whirls away, thinking of some ideas, discarding others. I know that I have a post owed for my fox in Vail's Lounge thread. The private dick is on the trail of a kitty and the fox has been left alone for too long. Gotta fix that.

Some passing fancy causes me to glance toward the deck. I see fr33k there. Maybe I should get dressed and go say hello? Suiting actions to thoughts, I stand and stretch before heading toward my hiding place. Black jeans, black beater, black and blue Nikes. I look OK, not great but OK. I push my hair out of my face, mad that I had forgotten a headwrap for my hair. It was gonna dry in a bit of an unholy mess.

And then my feet lead me toward the stairs and a fr33k.

"H'llo handsome. How are ya?"

I take a seat in an out of the way corner and pull out my lap top from it's protective case.I can't believe I have let the fox wait for so long.

Travels towards the Outlook, shifts to humanoid form, and enters the Outlook.

Hello everyone. How are you all doing today?

Heads over to the bar and orders a drink.

*sneaks in, and flying tackle pounces Luna* Tag *darts away*

Get back here!!! Miki isn't wearing panties, dammit! Go fix that post so I can work on mine, you dragony pervert!!!

Hey Avellan. How does the day find you?

I'm well. It seems you've made the most of the beach yet again. Lovely place for that, this is.

*He smiled as she curled up and brought out her computer to get writing. It seemed everyone was bringing their laptops here. Thank goodness the Outlook had wifi. He chuckled softly and leaned back into the cushions of the couch*

Ok. Work was dull and my computer is going SLOW. But other than that, I feel pretty good today.

a wide grin

That is a good thing. I feel pretty good myself. Though I have to turn in soon, as I work the night shift this evening.

Fixed, Luna.

Thanks draggy. As for when she removed them? She never had them on. I made mention of it when she climbed into the back of the SUV.

Ah hah hah...Now I feel silly. I should have caught that before and I don't think I did.

Chuckles to himself then looks around at the others.

So what's been going on while I was away?
