Either or both are safe bets for me. *He removed his hand from her chin, resting it in his own lap; the other arm still rested on her shoulder, hand toying with her hair again*

I'm not very up on my comic book knowledge though. Haven't had time to keep up with much in the world of DC or Marvel. I like Image comics too. *He chuckled softly, feeling a bit nerdy but not caring too much*

She reached to get her soda, sipped it, and put it back on the table, leaning back into that little void of space that she fit in so well. As he began to spin her hair she tried to hide a tremble by crossing her legs, making the movement a bit quicker than it needed to be.

"I'm trying to learn about comics; my best friend is a marvel enthusiast... he got me to start reading X-Men once I fell out of love with manga.... I was taught under an old Marvel/DC artist named Pat Broderick while studying for Animation, I love his art style... then I got hyper obsessed with Michael Turner's work. I think Top Cow's my favorite comic publishing house at present, though, The Batman Universe and X-Men Universe are very interesting to me..." She says with a little smile. "If I'm not mistaken Image owns Top Cow, right?"

Yep, that's right. I like Bats and X-men, but Spawn's probably my favorite comic character. That's pretty awesome that you trained under such an artist. I'd kill to be able to draw like that. I'm very mediocre at that. I'm more of a photo-manipulator.

She nodded. "I'm pretty fortunate," she agreed. "I wish I would have had spent more time learning from him though."

"Mediocre is better than talentless: with training I'm sure you probably could perfect a technique... or create your own," she said, smiling. "I'm decent at simple tasks in photo-manipulation... hair color, eye color, added make-up, placing a person or object into a scene seamlessly... but I cannot do all the cool little tricks that I've seen others do."

She relaxed a little, curling her heals beneath her as she often did. She leaned her cheek on his shoulder and trailed her fingertips slowly up and down his side. "Is that what you do for a living?" she questioned quietly. "Photo-Manipulation, I mean."

I suppose you're right about talent. I'm more more an abstract creator. That "lithograph" in the S33k & Finde is a photomanip I did using pictures of my hand and eye.

*As she got more comfy, his hand moved down from her hair, resting on her side as she traced her fingers against him. Her fragrance drifted to his nostrils, and he let out a sigh*

No, sadly it is not. I wish greatly that it was. I work in a deli.

"I liked that Lithograph," she said with a smile. "sometimes abstract is more attractive than commonplace artistic endeavors..."

She looked up at him, resting her palm gently on the side of his ribcage. Her eyes fell to his lips for a moment then rose back to his eyes.

"A jobs a job. At least you're able to pay your bills." she said softly. "I'm sure one day you'll be able to pursue your ideal career."

*Another wistful sigh escaped*

Yes, one day.

*He saw where her eyes flitted, and a smile curved his mouth again. Despite how comfortable this was, he felt the need to sleep in a proper bed this night*

Well dear, I believe I am going to turn in for the night. It's been another fun evening. I'll walk you to your room if you'd like...

She nodded.

"It was fun, for sure," she said with blush. "Sure, you can walk me to my room."

She stood from the couch and reached her arms above her head for a moment then allowed them to fall at her sides. She glanced back down at him: A thought flashed through her mind and her blush intensified; she looked away and began walking slowly to her room.

*As he rose to follow her he saw the passing thought play over her face and then the flush of her cheeks grow more rosy*

Got something on your mind? A parting thought, perhaps?

*He walked close to her side, looking over at her as they neared the hall leading to the rooms*

Her lips parted as if she were to speak but she shook her head, biting her bottom lip. It would be tacky to ask such a thing anyway.

She walked at his side, glancing down at their hands. She curled her pinky around his and smiled a little, looking forward again to ensure her clumsy tendencies wouldn't walk her straight into a wall.

*As she hooked her pinky around his, the last few steps to her room door were taken. They stood outside it, facing each other*

What were you going to say? I saw the words on the tip of your tongue, but you just bit your lip, like I've seen you do several times, and swallowed them. I'm curious to know...

"I think a lot of things... most are inappropriate to say at the time, so, I let them die in me," she said with a shrug. She looked up into his eyes and smiled slightly. She glanced at the door to her room then looked back at him. She bowed her head a little and forced a couple of curls behind her ear.

"... but... since you brought it up..." she stared at their feet. "... we could always..." she pointed towards her door with her thumb, like a hitchhiker would trying to get a ride somewhere. "...Share a room for the evening...?"

She giggled at herself before he could answer.

"Of course, you can say no... and I really do mean that we'd sleep, as I know you have work tomorrow... we wouldn't... DO anything."

Her cheeks grew rosy and her voice faded away. Her hand fell back to her side.

"Just an idea..." she whispered.

*She really did have the most endearing shyness. He smiled as she made her suggestion, nodding before she'd even finished*

That sounds like a lovely idea.

*He waited for her to open the door before following her in, shutting it behind him. Without waiting for her or changing, he kicked off his shoes and climbed into the bed, tossing the blanket down halfway and shuffling under it. With a grin he watched her crawl in on the opposite side. Thankfully the only light on was a lamp, easily turned off from here. In the darkness, his eyes went closed, his hand reaching and finding hers in the gloom. He turned on his side, feeling her do so at the same time, chuckling mentally at their unwitting synchronization. With their hands resting on her hip, he spoke softly into her ear*

Good night Kay, pleasant dreams.

Good night Kay, pleasant dreams.

She grinned and looked up at him: her face saying it all... she had a child's emotions half the time: at the present her expression read 'really?!' in the most excited of ways.

As they entered the room (and he closed the door) she took a moment to take off her sandals and watched him quickly make his way to bed. She hesitated a moment, pondered, then made her way to her side of the bed. If she grew uncomfortable in the night she'd surely take her shorts off; she often had, though, of course, she did so half-asleep and never really remembered having done so. As he turned off the light she climbed into bed, scooted nearer to him, and turned onto her side seemingly in the same moment he had. She grinned into the darkness as his hand rested softly on her hip; her arm mimicked the angle of his arm and rested gently on his, hand atop hand. The idea of spooning came to mind; she forced away a giggle in her throat and scooted down just a little so that their bodies seemed to form together. It was a comfortably comforting embrace; she enjoyed the heat that seemed to radiate from him and that was trapped beneath the cover: it formed a metaphoric force field from all her fears and anxieties. The darkness no longer affected her; it was a relief.

"Good Night," she said with a broad smile she was sure he could not see, but she knew he probably could hear it in her voice. "Pleasant dreams to you too."

And, without much ado, she drifted off into a deep slumber.

None of the staff noticed the presence of Apollo until the wake of his footsteps shook the whole deck. Nothing was damaged, but the intent was there.

He was fuming. Hatred boiled within the Sun God's veins, hatred due to the loss of a close friend and dear pet to life. He knew he couldn't control her decision, knew she wanted something more... but all Apollo felt was anger, anger that he wasn't good enough, wasn't tough enough... he just wasn't enough for her.

He strode into the waves. The cold water did nothing to him; his rage brought a fire within him so hot, it evaporated every drop that ever touched his skin. Apollo vowed to never destroy or demolish anything Ausus built. So he decided to destroy anything that ruined it. In the distance, a rock was blocking the sunrise. He snarled before reaching out with his hand, as if grabbing the rock.

"BEGONE, YOU FUCKING NUISANCE!"

His outstretched hand became a fist and the rock suddenly erupted into a plume of dust, nothing remaining to block the view of the sun. Panting from the exertion, Apollo kneeled into the water, let the waves smack into him. He needed to calm down, needed to remove his mind from this.

It was his birthday, after all.

She stirred, flipping beneath the blankets. She groaned a little, more out of aggravation of having to wake up... she could probably sleep all day again if she really wanted to.

She threw the blanket off of her head and sat up, glancing back at the empty space where he had slept beside her last night. A smile slowly meandered over her face as she rubbed the sheets on his side of the bed slowly. Who ever said men and women couldn't sleep beside each other without something naughty happening were pretty dumb. She giggled.

She stood and stretched. At her feet were her shorts. She shook her head and picked them up gently, folding them. She put them in the little duffle bag she had borrowed a couple days ago and stripped off her shirt. She rummaged through the drawers for something else to wear: she wasn't really in the mood for a dress today.

She found a cute little denim skirt, it was long enough to keep her modesty but short enough to show off her pretty legs. She also found a cute little a-line tank top, very summer inspired: it was a muted salmon color, flowy material. She carelessly picked out underwear and a bra, not really caring about the cuteness factor there, and made her way to the shower.

She finished undressing in the bathroom with the door closed, ran the water in her shower for a moment to get it to temp and stepped in. She spent a little more time in the shower than she often had: her sleepiness hadn't entirely ceased, the warm water furthered her lethargy. She stumbled around the shower, bathing her body, rinsing, lathering her hair, rinsing. She put a spot of conditioner in her hair and leaned against the wall, out of the stream of the water. Thoughts wandered and resided in dark places, she licked her lips and closed her eyes, running her hand down her center, over her chest, downward, slowly. Something went bump either in the bathroom or in her imagination causing her to quickly open her eyes and withdraw her hand; she raised both arms to cover herself as she nervously peaked from behind the shower curtain. No one was there, she was just being paranoid. She laughed it off, rinsing her hair, and turned off the water.

She darted out of the shower and grabbed the nearest towel, wrapping it around herself for a brief moment before dabbing the water droplets off of her skin. She quickly dressed, picking up any clothes she left laying on the floor and took them to her duffle bag.

She put on her best smile as she walked out; she glanced around to see if anyone had entered the outlook. Shrugging she walked outside to the outdoor seating area. Her hair was still damp: even if she spent an hour with a hair dryer it would still be damp. She looked out at the ocean, legs curled beneath her so not to expose herself in the little denim skirt. She sighed a little and watched the waves roll towards the shore.

*He'd risen earlier than normal, finding her still sleeping soundly. He moved as quietly as possible, re-covering her with the blanket before departing. He smiled at her over his shoulder as he slowly edged the door open. That had been quite a restful night. There was one thing though; in the night she'd managed to shimmy off her shorts. The feel of warm skin, the swell of her ass pressed against him as they'd lain together, had put some less than gentlemanly thoughts to his head. He chuckled after the door was shut, heading off to his room to retrieve clothes proper for a morning swim.

The water had been chilly, though revitalizing. He came back up the back stairs, seeking a hot shower and fresh clothes. Once the salt was washed away and the heat of the water had permeated him thoroughly, he toweled off and slipped into simple shorts and a t-shirt emblazoned with some random video game reference.

He came out into the lounge and saw her sitting watching the sea. He smiled and walked quietly behind her, tapping her shoulder*

Hello there, did you sleep well?

Hello there, did you sleep well?

She was startled, a small sound escaped her: it sounded somewhat like the merging of a scream and a gasp, resulting in a sort of squeek. She turned to face him, fear became relief in seeing his face. She smiled up at him.

"Yes," she said with a shy grin. "I slept very well, how about you?"

She stood from her seat, pulling the hem of her skirt down a little and glanced back up at him, hands grasped behind her back as she leaned towards him slightly.

I did too. I hope I didn't wake you when I left, I don't know why I got up so early, but I did. Went for a morning swim. It was refreshing.

*His eyes played over her figure, smiling at the simplistic style, revealing a bit of skin without being overtly flashy.*

So, any more slave labor on the agenda for today? Or have you gotten a reprieve?

*A soft laugh echoed into the lounge*

"Oh, no, I'm a pretty heavy sleeper," she giggled. "Unless you punch me in the head or scream in my ear I probably wont wake up."

She nodded. "I do enjoy swimming..." She glanced behind her at the surf and shrugged, turning back to him.

"No... not today," she giggled again. "Though, I did offer to help my mom make deviled eggs tomorrow for the family festivities Sunday... hopefully I wont go to jail during said festivities" her left eye twitched a little as she thought about her obnoxious aunt that always had something snide to say about her or to her.

"I am free today, all day, as far as I'm aware, though," she said with a grin.

I'm sure there are far gentler ways to rouse you...

*His grin had an edge of deviancy to it, a flash of thoughts on just how those gentler ways might play out. The glimmer was gone in an instant and the smile was normal*

I used to go swimming quite often, but I enjoyed the diving boards, the feeling of twisting and flipping in the air before diving was quite exhilarating. But the only pool in my area is at the University, and they don't have diving boards.

I am free for most of the day, save the four hours I have work this evening.

Her thoughts mirrored his after that statement, she bowed her head and blushed a little, her hands falling from behind her back to her side where they curled around the hem of her skirt.

"You're right..." she whispered. "... I suppose there are."

She nodded and giggled: glad to have a subject change. "I'm used to be deathly afraid of heights... I went on a diving board once... a high dive... and... well... it took twenty minutes of someone yelling at me to convince me to jump... but after I did it I wasn't afraid anymore: I didn't die from it, it was just a silly unwarranted fear... now I've got cliff diving in Santorini on my list of things to do when I die..." she giggled again.

She bit her bottom lip and nodded again. "So... uhm... what would you like to do today, minus the four hours you'll be working?"

Cliff diving would be awesome! I plan on skydiving at some point. I don't have a bucket list, per say, but I do have a list in my head of stuff that I'd like to do. I guess that's the same thing....

*He laughed again, realizing the circular logic he'd just followed*

Hmm....I can think of a few things...

*His eyes darted to the hem of her skirt, the silken skin beneath it looking quite tempting. His eyes moved up her body and back to her eyes, noting the blush growing bolder on her cheeks.*

We could go on a picnic, we could sit here and talk, we could take a swim....I'm game for anything. D'you have any ideas?

She giggled as she looked back up at him.

"Well... a picnic sounds nice," she responded thoughtfully. "I can't really think of anything else."

She glanced behind him and wondered for a moment if the staff would even have picnic baskets or any of the silly clichés for such a thing: Including a red and white checkered blanket to sit on. She giggled.

"We could do a combination of things, I suppose, picnic and swim or... something?" she shrugged. It would mean both of them would need to take another shower... her mind drifted again at the thought... she felt herself blushing again and quickly bowed her head, closing her eyes, forcing such ideas away.

How about a swim and then the picnic? I'm sure there aren't any vultures who'd sneak off with our food, and my mother always told me never to eat before swimming....

*He chuckled a bit, seeing that ruddy glow still sticking stubbornly to her cheeks. He wished he could read her mind, know what she was thinking that made her so embarrassed.

He had a few words with one of the waitstaff and after a while a decent-sized cooler was brought to them. Opening the lid, one would find drinks and sandwiches. A large blanket was folded and laid atop the cooler, black with red checkers. He snickered a bit at the liberties the staff had taken with Kay's remark.*

So, I suppose we should go change then, yes? We can just meet back here and go from there.

*He smiled and gave her a soft peck on the cheek before heading to his room*

"Fair enough," she said with a nod.

She watched him speak to the staff and stood there, swaying slightly. She crossed her arms and smiled, looking back towards the water. Once the person who took the request came back with the cooler she let her arms fall back to her side. She was amused to see a checkered blanket: almost giggled over the matter, in fact.

"Of course," she responded; she remained there a moment after he kissed her cheek.

She ran a hand through her hair and shook her head in blissful disbelief then wandered into the lounge, toward her room; Once there she quickly undressed and searched around for her little red retro one piece bathing suit. After she put it on she placed her denim skirt and tank top back on over it and walked out, leaving her shoes behind. She could probably use a towel, it was an afterthought, and she turned back a few steps away from her room to go grab one.

Finally ready to go, she ambled back to where he had left her, standing there casually looking back at the beach. She always dressed quickly, there wasn't really a reason behind it, other than she never really wanted to be caught off guard while nude. It was silly, actually. She grabbed the railing of the balcony and sighed contently.
