The problem with men these days...

Jesus you’re an idiot. Read the post again. I know women and men are different, I also agree that regardless of sex change or hormone therapy, genetically you’re still what you were born as.

I was asking for proof that girls are being treated better in stem or any other school to the detriment of males, or that males in the US are being feminized by a radical left cabal of man hating women. Or that the water is full of estrogen turning dudes more feminine.

I think he just skims posts, picks out a few key words, and then formulates a version of the post in his head that he can 'argue' against and goes with that.

If this is Botany Boy (is it?), that tendency has definitely gotten worse.

Yeah. He’s fun.

I think what this thread might be referring to is female chauvinism. But it seems most of the posts here are cherry picking information to prove a point.

Welcome to the GB, where logic, consideration and fact-checking are discouraged :)

Shall I unsubscribe? meh ... could be some fun mileage left in it :D

If you haven't been living under a rock for the last ten years, you'll be familiar with the oft-repeated fact that the phrase 'toxic masculinity " refers to the versions of masculinity that ate toxic. Not all masculinity. Much as 'magic mushrooms 'doesn't imply that all mushrooms are magic.

And 99% of the time if not 100% of the time it's used simply as a pejorative against any masculinity that's pissing off a feminist. That's why despite using the term profusely it never really gets defined.

It's just a pejorative against masculinity used regularly by haters of masculinity and the patriarchy!!

You've completely missed the fact that gender is different between cultures and across time, so I can't be bothered with the rest of your 'argument'

No, I haven't. I just don't see the differences as being all that significant. The ascetics and quarks of the region and time may change but the masculine/feminine behaviors are still the same. The masculine and feminine are still consistently apparent. Same as today, no matter where you go in the world. Even the most egalitarian nations/societies.

Why? Because estrogen and testosterone are not a social constructs and they have very real, well documented effects on the human brain structure, function and thus behavior.

You can literally tune peoples behavior patterns and even self identity to the feminine or masculine through brain chemistry manipulation. It's a major part of helping people with gender dysphoria transition and helping straight/cis people with various medical problems maintain/achieve the gender identity they desire. We biologist call this particular physiological manipulation technique "hormone therapy".

Do you know why biological treatments are such a huge component of transitioning and helping people with various other problems either achieve or keep their gender identity?? Because gender is NOT just a social construct you can sperate from it's biological components. :D it's legit more complicated than that.

That's an interesting perspective. The people I've known who have taken HRT did so for aesthetic purposes -- to make it so their bodies and appearance better aligned with social expectations with their gender identity. Gender dysphoria often results when people are treated differently from now they feel inside, so HRT is used to make the two better align and thus make it easier to get by in a society with rigid gender expectations.

What is your experience with HRT and those who use it?

Math time...

876/18= 48.667

147/1 = 147

Fail

I apologize. I did have him confused with others who support him who have multiple tens of thousands of posts but......876 is nearly 6 times 147, so my point still stands. Your use of a divisor is questionable and unnecessary.

Dribble was using the divisor to refer to the rate of posting. You have only been on Lit for about a month yet you have 147 posts. I've been on Lit for about 18 months but have 876 posts.

You have fewer total posts but you have been posting at a higher rate than I do. In one month you have posted 147 times while my monthly average is about one third of yours at roughly 49 posts per month.

Also:
It's interesting that you take such offense to the way people react to your comments. Are you clueless to how offensive and insulting so many of your posts are? Don't misunderstand and think that I'm offended by your opinions, you have every right to them, no matter how fucked up I may think they are. It's the way you tend to express your thoughts that I often find offensive.

But that's just me being a melting snowflake, right? ;)

All kidding aside, I will try not to be so unkind to you in my responses. I get the idea that you are a sexually frustrated curmudgeon and have come here to seek something that is missing from your life. That's fine, I'm not judging your worth as a person, but it seems that you are displaying some of what could be construed as 'toxic masculinity'. I sincerely hope you don't judge yourself too harshly. It's okay that you have bisexual proclivities and you should not be shamed for them, especially not here, not by me, and most of all not by yourself.

I'd send you a big hug if I thought it would help. ;)

You are making a logical argument (which I support) in an effort to inform and educate others who are not interested in logic, science, medicine, biology, physiology or most importantly: reality. So stop trying to make logical sense of this because none of that matters to them. They may not be able to choose their gender but they can choose to be deluded.

Why would a man who wants to dress as a woman, act like a woman, identify himself as a woman or to actually "be" (in his mind) a woman ever expect people to accept his appearance, behavior and delusion without some type of negative reaction. Maybe they don't expect that at all. I don't think they want others to see them as "normal". If people did, then they wouldn't get the attention they receive (negative or otherwise) by being out of the norm. I think they want and enjoy the attention generated by their quirky behavior and appearance and thrive off of making a big deal about it when someone verbalizes or otherwise lets them know they do not accept it.

If a man wants to be a woman and presents himself as a woman in public and is totally passable as a woman in appearance, behavior, voice tone, dress, etc, then no one would be the wiser and no one would have a problem with it. Everyone, including me, would be very comfortable with that. But when a man wants to have others accept him as a woman when he clearly is not, most everyone is going to react to it.

So do they really want to be a woman. Or do they want to be the center of attention?

And my point is: You feed off of the attention. Thanks again for responding and proving my point.

I originally came here for help with developing my writing skills. I stuck around because I made some friends and enjoy the conversations, even the political ones. (A wink to my 'boyfriend' BotBoy.)

As far as attention, yeah. As I responded to you before - I like attention. Among many other things, in real life I am a performer. The odds are good that I've shared the stage or been on radio with some people you have heard of. I posted my avatar pic because I like the attention I get from it, many people seem to think I'm quite attractive and I enjoy a lot of the PMs I receive for it.

Why are you here? :rose:

With respect to this thread in particular, simply the entertainment value of watching men who want to be women try to make rationalize how it's everyone else who has the problem.

With respect to similar threads regarding gender issues, similar entertainment value. Examples of which are posts by a guy who has a boyfriend but is compelled to refer to him as his "girlfriend" (which he makes sure he does) in EVERY post he makes. And to also include in every post, enough information to let anyone who reads it aware of the fact that his "girlfriend" is actually a guy. And then of course when someone posts a comment that does not support his delusion, he is presented with the opportunity to insult the other person and claim they are the ones who have the real problem, which he never fails to do.

With respect to this web site, mostly to read well-written erotica and also to see pictures of incredibly attractive women because I find them to be the most beautiful things on the planet to . (Some of the women might even be men but if I can't tell, who cares? The picture is not going to try and make me care.) The rest is a bonus.

Lol. So what exactly is “the problem”?

So you like to troll trans people? Got it.

I’m glad that you found something here. I still wonder why you make it your pejorative to be an ass when you find something you don’t like. Maybe you’ll also find the dom that you’re dreaming about and then you’ll be happy without making the rest of the world a little colder.

Lol. Hey Jude....

Oh. A gif. Well, that's that argument won.

A cheap deflection in order to avoid EVERYTHING around the gif.

How typically feminine of you :D

LMAO. No, I'm not ignoring it - I just can't be arsed with arguing with someone who doesn't address the actual points made, and then uses a gif to 'prove' their point. Also, I would just be repeating things I've said ad nauseum over the years, and I literally have better things to do with my day.

Do you REALLY think it's purely for looks??

You don't think the behavior and feelings associated are part of that??

What is your experience with HRT and those who use it?

From the clinical side, most of it at the time in Texas was people who were either injured or lost something from illness like cancer.

LMAO. No, I'm not ignoring it - I just can't be arsed

Yea...you're just too good to be bothered!! You don't have the time for that (but you'll sit here and post endlessly about it).

This is what you do every single time.

You NEVER go any further than this chicken shit, because it's all you've got.

Science denialist never have anything else.

No, it's because the discussion very quickly because either (a) circular or (b) completely unfocused. And any point I have to make would be supported by external references that no one every looks at, so they're never actually addressing the point being made (and I truly do not have time to write the screeds and screeds that would be necessary to fully address what you/whoever is saying). It's a really complex argument, and one that continues to be debated. But with you, I can't even get past the understanding that calling something a 'social construct' doesn't mean it's not real - things that are socially constructed are real, they just aren't biological. So there's just literally no point going any further.

And you can call me a 'science denier' all you want. I'm not. I just don't happen to agree with the science you're aligning yourself with. But of course, you'll stick to the idea that it's the only 'real' science that exist on the topic, and that any scientifically based data I bring to the table isn't 'real' science. So why the fuck would I bother?

Lol. Hey Jude....

You can assume you know more than I do about my personal desires and sexual interests and rationalize my behavior any way you want. I don't care what you think. But why do you care what anyone else thinks about your appearance and behavior. And why are you here arguing that others can't dislike how you present yourself, which is really what you are doing. People can think what they want about you just like you can think you are a girl.

Honestly, I don't care what you want to be or what you do in private. Just stay out of the women's public bathroom, and stop trying make everyone care that you like to wear lingerie. Most people don't.
