it's interesting to hear people complain about how teachers tend to be progressive and socially liberal. Who is attracted to teaching jobs, especially for the younger grades? How many competitive masculine types are interested in taking years of education so they can go into one of the most unappreciated and undervalued professions?

The only particularly masculine teachers I had in high-school were the sports coaches whose contracts also required them to teach something else -- usually something they were under qualified for or obviously were not very interested in.


The best teachers are often those with a strong desire to be helpful to people and society, rather than those who want to climb the ladder as high as they can and maximize personal wealth. Capitalism rewards families where both parents work, and those who do not have the wealth to afford the best child care or schools... well, they don't get the best.

Conservative solutions for improving education lean toward privatization and competition. Progressive ideas tend to be to provide better pay and benefits to attract better public educators.

Those who hate government and taxation and don't have kids couldn't care less... until they start to complain about how boys are becoming pussies and girls are getting too tough. What is there solution? Lol.

Look up the etymology of the word 'gender'. It is a social construct originally of grammar. It was not used to describe male or female characteristics until recently and was originally done so by feminists in the mid 20th century.
