The real american sniper was a hate-filled psycho.

He was directing that at the educated, so stop pretending you knew who she was.

Grandpa Urine. I'm gonna give you an incredibly important reality pill that you need to swaller lickety-split, with or without a glass of water.

There is nothing that your remaining 2/3rds of the Racist Shitstain Buddy Trio on this site can "educate" me or anyone else about. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

I'm fairly certain I know more about Maya Angelou than you ever did or will.

Assuming that you even gave a fuck about her and what she stood for to begin with, which I doubt even further than the above certainty. Because she personifies exactly what you fear and she counters ALL the schmuck-centered privilege you live with.

I wonder who had a higher body count, the American Sniper or our own Mr. Two Navy Crosses?

I knew who she was before your mom gave birth to her biggest regret in life, namely you.

Riiiiiight.

Mr. $500 Billion A Day Trip To India needs the internet and aggregate news sources to tell him about the world after the Cold War and how to live a basic bitch life navigating around people who've obsoleted him. More likely that when your grey matter was more fresh than it is now that you couldn't tell Maya Angelou apart from Nina Simone or Shirley Chisholm.

I don't see the problem?

Most real American Snipers are hate filled psyco's on some level.....you just don't get through any high end military schools on good ol' apple pie and warm fuzzies. And I'm willing to bet if you had enough of the evaluated you would find a high percentage of high functioning overachievers with STRONG sociopathic tendencies. The ones who seem the best adjusted about it all? Total fucking psycho's.

I mean seriously who the fuck volunteers to go be abused to the extent of human limitations (I've been to schools who's curriculum has a body count) in order to become the most lethal whatever killing kinda killing machine they decided to become? I tell you right now it's not well adjusted people with a strong sense of humanity and closeness to their fellow human beings.

Snipers, Rangers, SEALS, PJ's, FR Marines, SF, ASWG, Sappers....they all live on the border of highly respected pro's and total fucking whack jobs just barely under control via lotsa brain washin' n' discipline.

And that's the way it should be....you don't send counselors and therapist and all their feelings n' shit to go shoot people in the face all day every day.

You send a hate filled psychopath you managed to put a collar on.... duh..

I'm sure you knew Chris Kyle, interacted with him, learned how he ticked. Right??
I have one challenge for you--meet his friends face-to-face, those he served with, and spew your inane opinion.

LT?

Is that you?

I know exactly who they were, having lived through their era. One was the first black woman elected to the House, and the other was a singer who should have been put in prison for advocating armed revolution and the violent overthrow of the government. I also remember who Adam Clayton Powell was too, numb nuts.

You do the same thing here day in and day out! Dummy.

There a lots of psychotic bullies in the armed forces. I've met them, this guy was one of them.

Some of them, you have to feel for. They don't have bad characters, the military just took them in, used them until they broke them--physically, in some cases, mentally/emotionally in others--and then discarded them and they are seriously damaged people

But there are some people who go into the military or the police because they are bullies/have bad characters and love picking on and intimidating people they perceive to be weaker than they are. I've met a few of these:

A retired Marine who always introduced himself as a "slayer of men" and would seriously threaten physical harm as a way of establishing social boundaries--not even confrontationally, just "pass me the salt or I'll fucking kill you" type psychotic shit.

A retired Army landlord who got off on abusing his tenants.

The list goes on. This guy, in his writing, comes across like one of those types of guys. His friends also basically threatened to murder the screenwriter unless the film turned out to be the hagiography it is. Again, this screams "he and his entire circle of friends are the kinds of bullying, racist thugs that were recruited en masse during the Bush years and give the military a bad name."

Michael Moore certainly hated it.

And he only likes far-left politically-progressive propaganda films!

In the family, or a close civilian setting, it can draw one into themselves, not wanting to relate emotions and experiences to those without understanding. A veteran can be a prisoner to his own experience, to grim and unclean to relate to anyone except another veteran.

First time you say something true.

At best, its a war propaganda movie.....

When Beco is the voice of reason in a thread, the thread is seriously fucked.
:nods:

So I had to look up Michael Moore's commentary on the film, since the RWCJ had a serious case of the snickers.

Moore had an uncle killed by a sniper, and people are shocked....SHOCKED...that he does not hold snipers in high regard.

My personal opinion is that snipers are a necessary evil in modern warfare. Someone referred to them as legalized serial killers, and I don't think that's necessarily incorrect. Not very fair, but not incorrect.

I haven't seen the film, it's not on bit-torrent yet. It's a Clint Eastwood film, and Clint doesn't do "nuance" ("Unforgiven" the sole exception).

As a kid, I use to love war films. Longest Day, Full Metal Jacket, Stalag 17 and Clints very own Kelly's Heros.....but war is such a waste of lives, time and money, its pathethic to keep promoting this ideal as something to be proud of.

Kelly's Heroes was surreal. I enjoy good war movies too, but take them with a grain of salt. A Bridge To Far was a favorite. The longest Day was good, and I really enjoyed Band of Brothers.

I've seen some people saying that the movie is an examination of the toll that killing people, even in the context of a war, takes on those who do the killing, assuming that person has some semblance of human feeling. Unforgiven is maybe the best movie ever made on that very subject.

On the other hand, others have said the movie is nothing but an Iraq version of the Rambo series. So I won't know what to think until I see it myself.

I read a really good magazine piece about Kyle in the wake of his death -- I believe it was either in D (the Dallas city magazine) or Texas Monthly -- which had some of that "nuance." If I see it online someplace, I'll post it here. But even then, you could tell that some people simply weren't in the mood to view Kyle as anything other than completely perfect. It was the parts of the story that painted Kyle as, um, "complex" (for one thing, he apparently did a little embellishing about certain incidents in his life) that folks did NOT want to hear.

I work with an Ex-Ranger that was in Iraq & Iran and he was at least one of the snipers for his...UNIT? Anyway he said he hated killing little kids and woman but as he said it's not like he had a choice.

(He was in on the taking Bagdad too.)

The enemy soon learned Americans were very reluctant to kill them and loaded them up with explosives had them charge or try to get close to solders and detonate the charges.

So, he said you yelled "Halt" in their language and if they didn't you shot them.

He said he had no problem dropping the hammer on anyone who was acting strange, suspicious or grabbing or holding a weapon or something that could detonate a bomb.

The main stress was all the attacks and shit blowing up. He has to deal with that even now.

He wishes he could go back but his health and the army won't let him.

I don't need to, that's what he wrote in his own autobiography. Dude snitched on himself. Either way the world is better off without him. Martin Luther King is a hero. Malcolm X is a hero. This dude is just a straight up deadbeat psycho thug.

you must be retarded
