The Republican Party is about to give us absolute proof that their critics were right

Thanks, J. It's just that A_J said he's going to be voting for Huckabee. I was wondering if that proved he was a registered Rep.

He says he is a Libertarian.

Proves he's a registered moron. Maybe if Mike is elected president he can tell us all how Jesus walked with the dinosaurs.

Would you have said that right after Iowa? Anything can happen, especially this year.

So much hate this year. Hate Hillary, Hate Bill, Hate blacks, Hate Bush, Hate Religion, Hate Mormon.

First election ever where every votor is voting against their pet Hate rather than for someone they actually want.

This is by far the most interesting US Presidential election I can remember. As I don't have a dog in the race, I can treat the whole thing as theatre.

I'm proud to be a Californian. We didn't vote for Bush. We were blue through and through. Though I'll admit those who voted for Bush lost some political credibility...

Scratch that blue through and through thought.

Geographically, California is mostly red. Major cities, home of most the population, is blue (also the case in areas where most the population are in college). Which happens to be the case throughout the country, with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii.

Heh, all my so-called predictions on the early states have been dead wrong. I never dreamed McCain would come from behind. Perhaps that's what Rudy was shooting for?

I always figured McCain as the Rep candidate. If the Reps have any sense, that is. I think he's the only one with a chance of beating whoever the Dems put up.

I don't think that is true at all. I think people who don't believe in evolution are ignorant and brainwashed fools, but I don't hate Huckabee for that. I don't hate him at all. I actually quite like him on a personal level, and like some of his more populist ideas.

Voters on the left are really energized and excited about both Hillary and Obama, but I think it's driven a lot by the emotional appeal of the possibility of having either a female or black president. IOW I think democrats are very excited about their candidates and not driven by how much they dislike McCain or Romney, etc.

The one area I would agree is that most of the right hates Hillary. I wouldn't say I hate her, but I do generally flip the channel whenever she comes on tv.

Independents? From what I understand, McCain got a lot of independents and not conservatives. However, this was said by a pundit, and I did not look at the exit numbers.

There are a large number of Reps that will vote straight party ticket no matter who the candidate is. He'll pick up a lot of independents. And Dems that hate Hillary or Obama can salve their consciences by voting for him in the belief that he's "not really a Republican."

Yes, that makes some sense, and I am surprised a 3rd party candidate has not come out of the woodwork, although there is a rumor Bloomberg may run and Nader is testing the waters.

I would hope Nader learned his lesson last time. Bloomberg would be an idiot to try it. I know he's a gazillionaire, but that's a lot of money for a vanity project.
Ron Paul, maybe?

Hillary does galvanise, but so does Bush. I think that was a big part of Rudy's defeat, he hitched himself to 9/11 and therefore to the President.

McCain and Romney - neither excites the Republican voter as both are too liberal for the masses. It won't stop them from getting the whole of the Republican vote in the general election - if the choice is Hillary. A few republican women might go Hillary but she more than loses that in Democrats who do not want a 3peat of Clinton.

I hope to see Obama win Tuesday. He at least offers something we haven't seen.

40% vote Rep and 40% vote dem - no matter if it is Hitler vs. Stalin they pull the party lever. The 20% remaining is the people you have to find - and the interesting part is that every single voter out there claims to be in this 20%.

Ron Paul said many times he would not run as an independent, but who knows what his next move will be, because he is marching to his own drummer, no doubt about that.
