Things that make you go

Punishment of dollparts today

It takes a lot for me to go  ...but I am noticing all these threads today ridiculing dollparts.

I don't know much about any of the posters but it appears that at least some have been trying to HELP her and it hasn't worked.

So now they are punishing her for it...like that will help or something. Or maybe they feel she has "rejected" them in some way by not doing what they tell her.

I'm here to  and say: That won't work either folks...will probably just make it worse.

I hate when good people stoop to such behaviors.

If you've read any or all of the threads she's started, you'll notice that there are some at the GB who think she's an alt. Is she? I don't know for sure. If she's not, then she's a very troubled young woman who ought not be seeking help from an Internet message board. She needs far more than anyone here can give her.

I have to say, she's had time to realize by now that her behavior is going to be flamed and criticized. Yet she still posts threads that are ridiculous. The whole thing is pathetic and I try to stay out of it.

I agree it's best to stay out of it and I have until now. And you are right about her not needing help from an Internet message board. I just hated to see that dynamic of people who seem to care about what's happening to her, at least some, going the route of trying to psychologically "beat" her into recognition of the path she's on. That is a very slippery and dangerous way to approach someone in her situation regardless of intent.

So...I said it...and I am done but I wanted to acknowledge your response here in THIS thread as you make good sense!

a woman (actually two women) came to my door this morning. she handed me a pamphlet and said she was suggesting people look to the bible to help deal with today's stresses... particularly the threat of terrorism.

i explained to her that i was an atheist, thanked her and told her to have a great day. she looked at me like a midwesterner might have looked at the first black person they ever saw in the 1800's... like, "wow... should i touch it?"

I especially liked post #80, where pookie nailed him on having posted in favor of precisely the same nonmonogamous activities that he was flaming in this thread.
Now THAT was fucking hilarious! :D

I just read that post, and the rest of them. Hubby and I had a good laugh over that thread last night, but I had a hard time controlling the giggling this morning. :D

EJ, I bet the doorknockers reserved a special place in Hell for you and your atheist ways, too. It's nice to know I'll have other bottom feeders like you to keep me company. :p

if you and i aren't there, how in the world will there ever be lit in hell? the way i see it, we're on a mission.

You two will have to move over, as I am sure that the doorknockers have reserved a special place in hell for me as well.

I'm beginning to think that it's a sad thing that I am no longer surprised by the narrowmindedness displayed by people such as that poster.

i was thinking about inviting them in for a 3-some but something in the back of my mind made me feel i would be declined... so why risk it, right?

Are you sure she wasn't looking at your AV????

I currently live in a small mid-western college town. It's a college town, so, to some extent, it's fairly liberal, but it's in a largely conservative state...so...yeah....I get the "she has two heads" looks quiet often.

1. That someone is actually selling a "Double Cremation Space" on ebay.

2. EJ, apparently in California, there isn't the "man power" to send women door to door. In my mail today was a book, "National Sunday Law" covering the exact topics you described. If I actually used my fireplace, it would be useful but, it will just be condemned to the circular file.

No worries SE, EJ & SJ, it looks like we will all have good company ~ count me in!

I'm attempting to re-install/repair ie6 (not because I want it ) and it insists on downloading the internet connection wizard, I suppose it could be handy should I ever decide to connect to the internet.

It takes a wizard to connect to the internet?

can't windows explorer do whatever crappy-assed bullshit job M$ thinks you need IE to do?

honestly, i think of that as more of a WFMS moment than a rolleyes moment, o doyenne of snark-fu. :>

doyenne is yet another word english stole from french. it's the feminine form of doyen, french for senior or most respect member.

i've always been an avid reader growing up and was a lit major in college. as a writer, i specifically set out to develop a vocabulary and was known when younger to read the household dictionary.

wordplay makes me happy. one might even say it's WFMS. :>
