I'm on the rag because I'm fed up with the myth that it's some kind of esoteric boys club when there are women coming home maimed and everything on top of being sexually assaulted at an alarming rate by our own side, and being treated like they're a parenthetical joke to the service.

You meant more or less that today's presumably male sailor has it better because of the proximity to decorative pussy. Maybe that's not what you meant and I missed the part where you're saying that guys with women on board in larger numbers actually learn how to deal with women as co-workers, fellow troops and leaders better than "5000 swinging dicks".

But I will say this. Now with nukes the thought of the entire world mobilizing for war, well, won't say it couldn't happen again but is more unlikely. Not when the loser can end life as we know it on the planet like a spoiled kid in the neighborhood taking the only bat and ball home because his team is losing.

Or to put it more simply, would I have wanted females aboard ships in WWII? Absolutely not. Women can stay home and "man" the factories. Ouch, not a good pun, huh?

Only because I put more value on the life of young women than I do young men. When it comes to sending them off to fight war. On that scale anyway. I don't have a problem with a female navy pilot flying combat support over Afghanistan. She knew part of the job was dropping bombs on Johnny Jihad when she asked for her angel of death ride.

No dis to females sailors. The marines would probably have to go to war with many of them to get them off their ships like the Jews died rather than surrender to the Romans.

And I don't trust our commanders in chief to take care of the soldeirs we have, so I try to discourage both sexes from enlisting, more's the pity. But I don't put any more or less value on young male or female lives in a military context. If someone wants to go kill people and risk being killed, the ownership of a penis or ovaries becomes meaningless. I'll mourn them equally when they get killed, and try to support them while they are alive-- equally.
