It was a common thought that when someone had a sibling their secrecy and their social life tended to drop a little bit, seeing as most younger siblings were just a little bit more likely to be annoying, snoopy bastards and dig their nose where they didn't belong.
Naturally, that meant that when the person had TWIN siblings. Well, that meant that they didn't know what a social, private, or any life was. It was just the way things were.
The air was a little bit nippy in the great city of Juneau and the skies were a dark grey overcast, the sun trying desperately to shine through, but every attempt would be foiled. It gave the day a very dreary look, the kind where people would like to stay in rather than go out.
However, James didn't have a choice in the matter as he boarded onto the bus after paying the approximate fifty cents it took to get to the destination in question. Walking to the back, he sat down with a loud sigh, finally happy to be off his feet for even a minute. He took his glasses off and rubbed his green eyes, groaning a little bit as his brown hair fell around his head, his plain black and brown uniform looking snug on his 23 year old form.
James was one of the main bread makers of the family. They had a small family, but that didn't mean they weren't in trouble financially. Dad got laid off recently and since then has been going through a really bad case of depression. He really came home at night to mainly sleep and stayed at the bar almost all the time. Mum had constant back problems for the past year or so, so she couldn't do much heavy lifting or even moving without breaking into painful spasms, so she needed to stay at home when she worked over the computer. She'd been going to therapy for the past six months to get back on her feet with no results in sight.
As for his twin sisters, well, they weren't really workers to begin with. If one got the job and the other didn't, well, the first wouldn't take it. They were basically attached to the hip and went through the best and the word together.
So James, for now, would be the main provider, until his mom got back on her feet.
James reached up and pressed the button on the hand rail, a loud ding coming from it as they arrived in the town of Napakiak and exited the bus, heading over to the smaller, stone home that he and his family lived. The car wasn't there, so mum must have been gone. He assumed his sisters were still home. Walking in, he opened the door and sighed, shutting the door quietly. "God it’s good to be home." He mumbled, kicking his shoes off. "I could use a good rest...Hey!" He shouted up to the empty house. "You two want something to eat?" Hearing no answer, he frowned.
"Book ends! You alive up there?"
