"Hmm...well, I suppose an extra pair of hands is always helpful."
Gathering up his box again her made his way back up to the deck, kneeling down by the cannon again.
"The way the cannon works is that it has a direct link with the various elemental realms. By activating the respective rune, one such link is opened and the elemental energy gathered to prepare the detonation. Now, once the shot is fired, the background resonance lingers behind, even with the link closed, and has to be slowly absorbed by the dampening crystals before it can be safely loaded again. That's the trouble with using raw elemental power, it can get quite unflexible, and an uncontrolled mixture of differing energies can cause quite bad reactions.
"That's why I want to switch over to an imp-based system...basically, summon a lesser demon with special elemental affinity. It will then link to all elemental planes at once--the flow will be regulated by its spirit, so that there is no danger of overload. After a discharge, the imp can then transform lingering energies, or cancel them out by drawing opposed streams from other planes...or a number of other delicate operations too complex to be done by dumb machine-craft. That way, the cannon should become far more versatile. With me so far?"
I beleive so... its sort of like my magic unstable until some how i figure out a way to control it....or focus it. Like what the Crystals or the Imp would for your cannon... in a way they are simalar. Rhannon said paying attention to what he was saying and watching his movements. Making sure to keep her wings back out of the way Fethers and fire didnt mix well.
Hearing the Jyiuu's 5 muinet landing warning she looked at Valdin and smiled. As he continued working on the cannon.
