Treasure Hunters

Lotharian smiled to himself as he finished writting down her responses thus far. She truly did know little... but Lotharian would get to the bottom of things. He had to. But for now, there was not trouble in enlightening her somehwat on matters. She was indeed sharp, though naive.

"You truly do know little on such things... a pity. I was hoping you more elder than you seem." Lotharian said, placing his quil within the ink well. Many told him to get one of those new 'pens' but nothing quite had the feel of a quil. "The Avariel. The Elves of the Sky. Truly a magnificent people. I had the grace of know a couple in my time. They were skilled spell casters before the Sundering and were very artisticly gifted."

"Sadly, most looked down on them... and still do." Lotharian said, his gaze going to his shelves of books. He murmered to himself until he found a book and handed it to her. It was bound with the skin of a white doe.

"I was granted this from him as a gift thanks to my interest in their people. A tome on the Avariel of the Great Range in the southern part of the continent." Lotharian said calmly as he returned to his work. "Hopefully this will help you get more in touch with your kin... but please, return it to me when you are finished."

"Ah, as for my next question. What magical items do you bear with you?"

At first Rhannon was unsure wether to take his comments as insult or mearly just his way... Shaking her head she let them pass as him just being himself, and listened in facination as he begain speaking about the Avariel.

Thank you i will return it i promise. Rhannon said looking down at the book he had given her, holding it carfuly as tho it may slip thru her fingers at any moment. It was a gift she never thought possable. Hearing him ask if she had any artifacts she shook her head. No i am sorry i do not.. Why do you ask?

Lotharian sighed at her comment. There had to be something wrong... Maybe if he told her something would click? Maybe she was just confusing her. He was told he was sometimes very confusing and most had problems figuring out what he wanted.

"You bear a strange aura that interests me..." Lotharian says, turning his piercing gaze to her. His eyes seeming like they were trying to disect her. "When you are near, I feel a feeling I thought lost... That lost warmth of magic. I know not what it is but for some odd reason, when the power of the wizards was shattered it as if you clug unto one of the shards..."

"And I seek to find out more of this phenomenon." Lotharian said bluntly. "I will be truthful with you. I am not on this ship for profit. Nor truly to go searching for artifacts. If it was my choice I would never have to leave the walls of my study. But sadly, that is not the case. I seek to find some way to restore magic..."

It was at this moment Lotharian grunted and stood from his seat. "I am a wizard. And as such it is my duty, I feel, to repay a debt to this world. And try and revive magic. And I am sorry if you find this... ovewhelming... but I feel you may be part of this elaborate puzzle."

Veldin watched the imp within the runic circle of the golden disc and nodded ever so faintly to himself, watching the practically mindless demon respond as desired as he touched various runes on the control pantel.

Finally he gave a satisfied grunt, tightened the fastenings of the binding charms and set the creature into the side of the cannon, closing the panel. Standing up gracefully he stretched slightly, his gaze still watching the mountain and the hamlet from which the crew was coming back piece by piece...suddenly realizing that Lilith hadn't left with them he lifted a slender eyebrow, casting a glance in direction of the cabins.

Finishing off my drink I walked out of the Hunter's Guild. That bartender may have been hiding something. Better check with the crew first. It was getting cold quickly, I thought. As a sharp frost ran through my body. I walked towards the Jiyuu, and took out my communicator.

"Anyone had some luck?" I asked into the communicator, quickly going from black to white from the snow falling upon it.

"Oh, ya might say that. More bad than anything."

Tanya flipped the bartender some coins, and left the bar, watching cautiously for signs of Langley. He was an old-school gunslinger -- fast-draw six guns at high noon -- so she didn't expect an ambush. Then again, Hunting artifacts can change a person.

"My past's caught up with me, and it's after the Eye. Dunno how word got round so fast, but someone in yer precious Hunter's Club heard we're after the Eye, an' they are too. Sent Old Man Langley ta see me.
"He said 'head West.' Sounds like they know where the Eye is, but I don't reckon as how they'll give us no more directions."

"Alright. If you're all not too busy, get back to the ship." I said, already at the foot of the large red ship.

The ship was shaped like a red dragon, ironic considering my feelings towards the race. The cockpit was at the dragon's head, and the arms that pointed straight had the guns. The hind legs were pointing back, and they were the boosters. The tail opened up, and it had a stair way into the ship. That's how I went it.

Tanyruu finally appears!

She opened her eyes slowly, sitting up out of bed with a yawn. She moved to the intercom, pressing a button and speaking, "Hello? ...Anyone there?" With no answer she turned it off and decided to make her way to the bridge. She didn't bother to put anything on except for a black and red silk nightie. Dressed to impress, Tanyruu calmly left her quarters and walked to the bridge.

She glanced around, not seeing anyone and so deciding to get dressed. Rubbing her tired eyes before heading all the way back. She yawned as she dropped the nightie and slipped into her more regular attire. Placing her large pistol in it's holster and her swords in their sheaths. It was a shame no one was around, but she was almost certain she had missed something, she could smell the sex in the air.

Tanya broke into a run when she caught sight of the ship. She wasn't quite sure why, but the hairs on the back of her neck were tingling. By instinct, a revolver was drawn, the hammer cocked in the same fluid motion.

Someone was dying, she could tell. She prayed it was none of her crewmates. She held her communicator up to her mouth.

"Hey, can everyone check in reall quick-like? Somethin's wrong out here."

She scanned the forest around the town, her gun at the ready.

Happened upon a Massacre

The cold day continued its warning, the snow walked the landscape like the darkness blanketing the country side as the sun ran to sleep.

She peered up to the one that watched, the applause showing that he had watched the entire occurrence, a smirk on her cheek as she slowly rose from her place over the fell body, pocketing the satchel in her hanging case she stood totally erect, looking towards the man…

“Is there something this one may help you with” her tongue soft and in common, the speak of slave still riddled deep upon her conscious, her deep sapphire eyes lowered to avoid contact with the person, after all it wasn’t him that she was after to kill, so her basic of instincts ruled the moment, she stood still, wanting to know his curiosity about her, she was as normal as any…perhaps.

Her form was still, a wonderful statue dedicated to the fines form of self will, she was a body of sex and men worshiped her as such, she hadn’t even flinched from the pure snow that fell, only thoughts on her mind was why that man had shown himself, frame in the white background, her soft cream colored flesh shown against her white garb, her taut waist, her cream colored thighs and the subtle outlines of her cheeks, even blushed slightly red at the mans intrusion.

“Again sir... is there something this one can help you with…?” she dared a gaze up to him, but quickly darted the crystals of her orbs away from him.

the snow kept on falling as she waited for an answer…

Nicodemus found it very odd that a woman so clearly trained in the deadly arts was so timid in speech and eye contact. The way she carried herself was a complete contradiction to this. There was something about it all that rang bells at the back of his memory, but he paid it no heed for the time being.

"Yes, ma'am, as a matter of fact there is. My name is Nicodemus Hopkins, a Ghost Soldier. I am looking for a bauble. It is a clear gem in a golden frame, probably worn as a pendant, and about the size of a young boy's fist. Perchance have you seen anything like it?"

The Want for the Eye is great!

“You speak of the Eye, do you not?” she questioned, eyes still away from him as her hand sipped over her satchel, her cold fingers continued to walk the brown leather, the contrast of color was so striking, the color of cream walking cross brown leather.
Her fingers caressed the pull tab, pulling her satchel open, and slipping her delicate digits in the cover, pulling an object covered in deep crimson velvet, pulling the crisp corners from the middle showing the crystal gleam of the eye, the gold strike of color walked the rim of the eye.

She smiled softly and looked up to slightly…

“Is this what you were looking for?” her fingers gently cradled the piece, her lips curled softly into a smile, a ting of instinct and she harshly turned, but not the time to allow, the arrow hit directly upon the crystal knocking it from her grasp…

“Wha…!” she shouted as her form cleared another arrow, the eye was cast towards the man in a long arch, her hand formed the long blade of ice, bringing it to swing and to release, only to catch an arrow in her torso, knocking her from her feet as the blade swung wildly to cleave the side of the archers face, falling sharply to the frost covered grown, she groaned deeply her hand arrow the shaft of the arrow, the man soon falling beside her, another moved from the trees…

“She has the eye!” One bellowed from the trees as another ten full men came from the hill of the forest…

Gritting her teeth she forced her way to her heels…

“Take the eye!” she shouted as she turned back to the men, as swiftly as she had gotten up, she drew a long blade of frost, the blue twined weapon glowed of hate as it swung in a wide arc to contact bare flesh upon an assailant, fingers being severed and falling from form, she continued to move with unbridled haste and savagery, like a bloody poem in motion, her dance was sudden drawn to a quick stop as a club contacted her back, her spine arched and she yelped in pain, being thrust forward, she fell to the snow in pain, a man grabbing her locks and forcing her to look up…

“Your quite peppy!” he growled, another back handed her, as another tow started for the eye that was tossed…

Nicodemus' eyes widened slightly at the sight of the Eye. That was it. It was too easy.

Sure enough, the assault descending upon them was proof enough of that.

“Take the eye!”

"You fool!" he snapped at the woman, his voice ringing like steel on steel in the cold air.

He lunged toward the eye with the fluid grace of a viper. He reached the eye before one of the advancing men did and snapped a powerful kick into his face, breaking his nose instantly.

Nicodemus snatched up the Eye and spun around once and a half into a bow stance with his hands in a defensive position so that he was facing the attackers. "I warn you to stay back!" he snarled. "My name is Nicodemus Hopkins. I am a Slayer 3rd Class of the Ghost Soldiers. Interfere any further, and I will be forced to kill you all."

Unpure snow

Perhaps she put to much trust in people, the snow was actually cold now as she lay there, being beaten until the echo of a man, the dim echoes of voices shattered her dream as she snapped up, her fist balling and slicing upwards, the impact shattering the jaw of one of the mercenaries, she panted as she leapt to her feet, the form of a blade being pulled from the elemental plane of ice, a useful place to keep things, she smirked to herself as the wide swing sent the men to fall in disarray…

Anger fell upon her as she moved upon her attack, dismembering digits and limbs from the men, her weapons of frost were effective against flesh, perhaps to effective as judge by her useful crafting of such wicked weapons, one inhale and another man downed, another inhale and another to his knees only to allow the place to tickle the mans neck, the last of the group she thrust the blade into his midsection, only to bring it out quickly to arc back to one of the men charging towards the most interesting person, at that moment she herself fell to her knees, the exhaustive movements and the tiring dance was to much for her wounds…

Breathing swallowing, her deep eyes feared to look up, she simply fell forward upon the stack of men that lay under her, a huge thud as she fell forward…

Cold, so very cold, she had never felt as such, the day seemed to go by to fast, actually, to fast, she could see herself as a child once again, playing in the snow fields to the east, her hand reached out to the figure of herself, a young self…

Nicodemus watched quietly as the elf girl dispatched all ten men with her magic before collapsing. He had to admit that he was impressed, though she clearly exhausted herself and taxed her injuries.

He looked down at the Eye in his hand and pocketed it. All he had to do now was get it back to the ship and have it destroyed. It had to be done properly or the souls within would not be freed, merely sent to oblivion, a fate they did not deserve. Nicodemus turned on his heel to leave when he felt a nagging from his conscience.

He glanced back over his shoulder at the unconscious elf girl. She was helpless now.

He groaned slightly to himself, knowing one way or the other he was going to regret something. He walked over to her and picked her up, carrying her on his shoulder back to the ship. He pulled out his communicator to alert the others.

"Nicodemus here. We got lucky. I found the Eye. And prepare one of the spare rooms. We're going to have an unexpected guest."

Rhannon looked at him not sure what to make of his statment she was both angry and curious.... A wizard he could have been with the ones who had distroyed her village, and here she was helping him....

Looking down at the book in her hands. He had said it was a gift from one of her people. Was he telling the truth or had he taken it?.... No ... no .. She shook her head trying to think thru her anger.

What part do you think i could play in this puzzle and how is my aura different? She asked just before Tanya's voice came over the com.

Quickly leaving the room she wasnt sure if Lotharian would follow, or if she wanted awncers it was something she would need time to think aobut. She ducked into her quarters long enough to lay the book on her dresser and then headed back out to see if she could help only to run streght into Nicodemus, and an elf.

Rhannon didnt stop to think that the women would find her infirior or look down on her. Is she wounded ? I have some extra clothing she can use that would be warmer... Follow me. She said her anger disapering as her healer instincts took over, she lead the way back down to one of the spare cabin's.

Opening the door she showed them inside. Its not much at the moment.. but it will work for now. I'll go get you some warmer cloths. My name is Rhannon. she said smiling at the girl before leaving the room.

Lotharian growled as he heard her comm activate. Lotharian didn't use his unless he had to. He, like most of the wizards, were never really fond of technology and instead kept to the old ways. Many refused to 'get with the times'. Lotharian smiled for a moment at the irony that he was trying to bring the old ways back.

Lotharian sat once more at his desk as he was reviewing his notes once more. Feeling somewhat... drained with her gone. The only bad thing of her leaving was reminding him what it was like to be drained of his magics once more. At least the slightest hint he got from her let him feel the old might he once held.

She'll be back. She'll want to know more, so she'll be back.

Tanyruu lounges...

Tanyruu sat back in the captain's chair with a languid sigh. She had very little to do after her search for fellow crewmembers failed and so she tried to sleep. But that was very difficult in and of itself, especially when the one trying to sleep is a elemental specialist. When one resonates towards that aspect, they take up quirks from it. Her fiery nature made it difficult for her to nap when she had no clue where everyone was. But she wasn't about to go outside and get lost.

So she glanced around slowly, the place was quieter then a graveyard and the crew probably wouldn't be back any time soon. She closed her eyes and sighed as she ran her hands over her body, raising her skirts to give her better access to herself. She let out a moan, gently rocking in that seat as she plunged her fingers into her hungry womanhood. She had no clue how long it had been since she had enjoyed the touch of someone other then herself, but it was too long. She arched her back with a lusty groan, "Oh, yes! I need it so bad!"

It was about then that she noticed the noises of other crewmembers rushing about the ship. She froze and her face immediatly turned red. She pushed her skirt back down with a heavy sigh, standing up from the chair and rushing, as elegantly and nonchalantly as she could, back to her room.

"Did you get rid of it?" I asked through the communicator.

An unexpected guest? Hell, half my crew is unexpected. All met up during the journeys I had. But there was one thing to now...

"More importantly, is the guest a she?"

Nicodemus rolled his eyes at the captain's line of questioning. "In order, no and stop thinking with your dick for ten seconds.

"The Eye needs to be destroyed, yes. But I can't just smash it with a rock. That would eradicate the souls trapped within. Furthermore, our guest is injured. She needs medical help, not your libido."

"I doubt she can hear you right now," Nicodemus flatly stated, "but I'm sure she'd thank you for the concern if she could."

The Ghost Soldier heaved a sigh and stepped out into the hall. He removed the Eye from his picket and studied it a moment as he slowly moved back toward his room.

Sorry to have missed the battle, but glad all were unharmed, Tanya reholstered her gun with a twirl and a flourish, and returned to the ship.

She walked past Darien and gave him a glare.

"Is the guest a she," she muttered.

Rhannon ignored his statment feeling a little foolish, if she hadnt had other things on her mind she wouldnt have made such a mistake. The things Lotharian had confided in her still shocked her.

She didnt know what the girl would like but found a long skirt, and a warm blouse for her to wear, along with a pair of soft leather boots. Seeing Nicodemus standing in the hall she said. Excuse me.. I need thru so i can heal her. I suppose she was wounded while you got the artifact..

Rhannon ignored the glare he shot her direction as he continued to study the eye, heading off to his own room. She went into the room closing the door behind her. Laying the clothing on the end of the bed she moved to check the girls wounds.

After discovering the extent of the damage she knelt down next to the bed and once again set about using her magic to heal.

A welcoming touch...

All was dark, everything, she remembered being picked up, near lifeless, she knew she mumbled some words, but of worth she didn’t know, it all faded into a big ball of blur…

Heaving to herself as she felt herself fall to a bed, she heard words, coming, going, movement, shuffling…

Suddenly she bolted up, looking about, feeling the warm hands, her own fingers moved to lay rest upon of them, her eyes wandered and finally fell to look at the person that moved her hands to heal her, the arrow was removed and she felt… better, per say.

She relaxed finding herself in a warm environment, some one tending to her wounds, her lips softly curled into a smile as she leaned back down upon the comforting pillow.

No doubt an introduction was in order…

“I’m Kasha…” her words smooth and pure as her deep sapphire eyes looked down to her, she felt comfortable, her speech was hypnotic, the deep rocking of her icy blue eyes swayed like the ocean, a sexual creature by nature, she had no idea anything she did was enticing unless it was intentional, to attract a mate, or to run her romp during her heats…

She laid back down, enjoying the hospitality, her fingers curling about the others hand, aiding in the healing, the help of her blessed bear was quickly assisting the process…

I scratched the back of my head at the latest screw up. I was kidding. I said the same thing when each one came in. I sighed. Seeing everyone return to there room, I went ahead to the cockpit. I sat in my seat and... Wait. Something was different. I seat up, and the leather chair was wet. And it wasn't water, either. Suddenly feeling like a bear in a fairy tale, I muttered, "Someone's been touching themselves in my chair..."

Tanyruu

Tanyruu quietly peeked out of her room into the hallway, she sighed, slipping back inside and moving to the intercom. She flipped it on and leaned in, speaking into it, "Hello? Could someone please tell me what's been going on? I apparently slept through the latest adventure."

She fixed her dress and cleared her throat as she waited for a reply, resting against the wall with her arms crossed. She wondered if she was getting too old for all of this, but then again, the Jiyuu's crew needed her experience and guidance. Also, she was probably the most mature of the bunch.

Rhannon smiled down at the elf girl. She handnt been surprised when she jurked awake, asessing her surroundings before laying back down, but what did surprise her was that she was aiding in her healing much as Rhannon herself was able to do. Easy its alright Kasha i am Rhannon. Welcome aboard the Jiyuu, i brought you some warm clothing to change into when your feeling up to it.

Once she was healed Rhannon stayed by her side for a few moments more offering her comfort in a strange place, before standing. If you need anything my chambers are just down the hall. she said before turning to go hoping that she wouldnt be angry that an Avariel had been the one to help her.
