Treasure Hunters

Lotharian had been waiting when he heard Rhannon's knock. He knew that she would be tempted to learn more, no matter what she had said or thought. There was that deep thing within her that would make her want the truth. Curiousity.

Lotharian placed the book he was reading on The Towers of the Arhal (a small cult of wizards from times long past that had been experts of magical fields and items). He looked towards the door with a soft smile.

"You may enter." Lotharian said simply. "I assume you've come to learn more? Ask and you will recieve of course. In exchange, allow me to continue my studies is all the fee."

Lotharian said, his voice just loud enough to cut through the door and to the Avariel's delicate ears. Lotharian would soon learn hopefully, and be able to get the guilt quenched.

Rhannon leaned her head aginst the door a moment before she awncered. Lifting her head and glairing at the door she said. Agreed.... I'll help you, in return for knowladge, but i need to know about the wizards as well as my people. I need to know what they were looking for and why. she said.

Taking a step back from the door so he could open it she waited for his reply. Rhannon hoped she wasnt making a mistake but she new that the only way she was going to learn was to help him.

Tanyruu listened to the captain and nodded before leaving her own quarters. She stopped, wondering what she was going to do when she got there. She shrugged slowly and continued down the hall, stopping at Lilith's room. She blinked, a blush coming to her cheeks as she moved to the door and gently knocked upon it. She knew, like everyone else, what Lilith was, but she wasn't as frightened by it. Besides, she rarely ever spoke to the vampiress and felt at least obligated to share a few words with her before she headed to check on their newest guest.

She rested against the doorway, waiting for Lilith to respond, whistling quietly to herself as she fixed her clothing and brushed her hair back, "Lilith? Are you in there? This is Tanyruu."

Lilith had been sitting quite comfortably in the corner of her room. An armchair was propped against the wall. An old volume lay open on her lap, she was rather immersed in the tale, her eyes wide as if to see the page better, to read it faster. She jumpped upon hearing the door. Who could it be? THen as she spoke the question answered itself. Righting the chair she layed the open book on the table and took a breath it was almost time for her blood.

Slowly she walked towards the door, pulling a long black robe about her scantily clad form, tieing the sash she opened the door. A smile graced her lips, "Tanyruu, to what do I owe this pleasure?" she asked moving aside to let the woman into her quarters.

Kensuke said:
"Yeah..." I said. I pulled her closer. I wanted to feel her full weight on my own.

"Although, Lilith has a certain why of getting involved..."

Tanya chuckled, and smiled down at Damien. She was starting to feel a little better, but still felt her stomach twist.

"She does ...."

She leaned down, and gave Damien's lips a quick, lip-brushing kiss.

"I am sorry hon. Just me bein' a worrywort. Ya don't survive long in the West if you aren't a little paranoid of everyone."

I pushed my lips on hers quickly before she lifted her head back.

"It's alright. To be honest, I'm a little worried too." I whispered to her. It was rare to see me talking like this, especially admitting worry.

"Well then," Tanya said, feeling her strength returning, "We will have to be careful."

She pressed her lips back to Damien's, chewing hungrily and pressing her tongue against his lips to gain entrance into his sweet mouth.

Being careful was pretty much what she wasn't doing. Being careful would mean rejecting me. But then, neither of us want that.

I kissed back with equal ferocity, and our tongues met, playing with each other between our mouths.

Tanya pulls back from the kiss with a wet smacking sound.

"Damien ...."

She caresses his cheek.

"We're a bit over-dressed."

Then stops, looking serious.

"Is this ... good timing? Just gettin' the eye, an' all?"

She hopes it is, but her instincts are screaming at her from under a thin whisky fog.

"...I honestly don't know." He said, and then sighed.

"Which means it's not a good time." He realised. "Sorry Tanya..." He said, lifting his head up to kiss her. "Looks like... We'll have to wait."

"Yeah ... good idea hon. We ... well, we need ta make time for us ... but ... a new crewmember, a new artifact ... We needta focus on that.
"Sorry for bein' so ... dunno what hon. I really was kinda bothered by whatcha said."

She shrugs, sitting on the bed, looking a little shamefaced.

"It's alright..." I said, scratching the back of my head. "I'm sorry for saying that."

I got up from the bed. "I'm going to see the new crewmember. Come if you want... But I will see you tonight."

"I will answer what I can." Lotharian said from his seat. He had no fear of the questions she would ask. He had already answered them a thousand times.

"Now enter if you will! And when you do, lay down on the bed. I've indeed more to do." Lotharian said simply. "And do not worry, I shall do nothing unbecoming upon you! Just a simple once over."

And with that, Lotharian sat in wait for her to enter and to take the seat requested. He'd find out what it was that gave her this aura and with it, he would begin to restore magic.

Rhannon entered the room carfully setting the book he had given her on the night stand nearby, and removed her cloak laying it on the end of the bed before she her self lay down.

I am ready for you to begin your examination. My questions can wait until your done. Do you need more clothing then my cloak removed for this or may i leave them on? She said doing her best to relax as she watched him.

"You may leave on what you whim." Lotharian said as he drew out from his desk something he hadn't used in ages. His component pouch. Yes... the magic he felt would be strong enough for what he needed. He would find out the source of this magic aura of hers.

Lotharian stood overtop of her and waved about his hands, sprinkling a dust over her body that she more likely than not wouldn't recognize. And muttered the hallowed words of the 'Old Magic'. And with that, did the dust begin to stir and feel as to get warmer.

And where the source of the magic, would burst into a flame. Not enough to scorch or burn, but still warm. It would signal to him where the source was and that, right now, was a he needed to know. And maybe once he found the source, he would be able to find a way to augment it or take it as his own.

Rhannon nodded and left her clothing on. It had suprised her when he pulled out some sort of dust and begain sprinkling it over her.

It was getting warmer, almost burning Rhannon pulled her hands up to her chest on the left side not far from heart where it felt the worst. It was almost as if her chest were on fire. What is that?? She gasped unsure what was happening. Rhannon tryed to get up, and to the door.

Lotharian quickly put his hand upon her. He was not going to let it her begone this easily and this quickly. His hand was stern, but not overly forceful. He did not want to put her in a state of all-out panic, but he couldn't risk her disrupting the spell and making this worse.

"Calm yourself Avariel. It is just a simple spell to find the source of the anomally that follows you." Lotharian said calmly. "Yes. A spell of a wizard. That is the anomally that follows you that raises my questions."

"I seek to find it's source, and to explain what is going on. And maybe in the process you may find out more on what you truly are." Lotharian said calmly. "It will fade in moments, just wait and it shall pass."

Rhannon's first instinct when he placed his hand on her to hold her down was to fight. Fight him, and the spell he had placed upon her. Listining to his words.. it took her a moment to reolize what he was saying.., but did her best to relax.

She didnt understand how this could help find out more about who she truly was but he was right after a few moments the burning passed and she was able to breath easer. Looking at Lotharian's hand she asked Can i get up now?, and what was that?

"Yes you may get up. And it was a detection spell of magic." Lotharian said calmly. "Apparently what powers this is not natural or else your body as a whole would glow. There is something... In you. In your left breast that emits a magical aura."

Lotharian stroked his chin for a moment. "Very well. I've learned some more on this. And in exchange, shall I grant you answers you may seek as well. Name it and I shall answer. As best as I can."

Lotharian sat at his desk and wrote down more upon his page of what was happening with her. This whole ordeal is... fascinating. Definitely not like something he's seen before. Mayhaps there will be more he could find and gain from this little Avariel.

Tanyruu

Tanyruu quietly entered before turning to Lilith, "I.. well.. just wanted to talk. You and I have never really spoken to one another and it seems best for the Jiyuu's morale if all of it's crew know eachother better."

She shifted a little uncomfortably, biting her own lip as she looked a bit nervous. For her age, the big Three O, Tanyruu looked rather lovely, but that was due to her constant exercise and the great deal of care she took for her body. She was 30 but she looked just a little over 25, though she felt even older around Lilith who was so lovely in her youth.

"Perhaps, I should have thought of something to talk about?" Tanyruu said, smiling and chuckling with a tinge of nervousness.

Rhannon sat up and watched him as he moved across the room to begin scribbling on his parchment again. Trying to decide what to ask was another matter.

The book he had given her would help her with most of the questions she had concerning her people, and if there was something inside of her then that awncered why the wizards had attacked her people, but what exactly was it?, and did she want the wizard to get it.

First things first she needed to know what it was and helping him would garentee that they would figure it out, but how could she trust him. Looking over at him she new she needed to know what his plans were.

Once you figure out what this is. What will you do? Will you take it from me? If this is the reasion the wizards attacked my village how do i know i can trust you? She asked waiting to see what his reply would be.

"Guessing by your age... from what I can see... yes. That's probably why they attacked." Lotharian said calmly. "And, if I so wished it, it could be within my power to take it as well. Since in you presence I've at least some of my magics returned. But I am not like them..."

"Magic was torn by the greed of wizards. Through want of more and when the great wizards of this world locked into ruthless battle. And with greed it will only be sundered again. No." Lotharian said calmly. He normally did not betray his inner thoughts but he felt, to gain her trust, he would have to let her in deeper than he has let anyone else in since... then. "I seek to give back magic to the world. To return the order that once was and this fevered rush by some of my former brothern."

"As for trust, I leave that to you." Lotharian said lightly as he placed down his quil, the entry done. "Would you trust an old wizard after all we've done to this world? I know I wouldn't. But as I said, if I truly wanted to take it, I could've. Maybe within my hands I would have power enough to handle those on the Jiyuu."

Lotharian looked at his hand, a smirk coming to his face. And he shook his head.

"But the problem is where it is located. To take it could mean death for you. And unlike some, I'm not willing to put the blood of more upon my hands."

Lilith smiled at the woman, "Then by all means sit down..." she said softly as she gestured towards the table and chairs as she closed and softly locked the door. "I would offer you something to drink but all I have is well...blood in here.." she said with a slight laugh as she settled next to the woman, resting her hand on her's in a friendly fashion. "It was very sweet of you to come and visit me, most people tend to leave me alone, too afraid I'm gonna suck them dry..." Lilith said softly her hand still on Tanyruu's

Tanyruu

Tanyruu nodded, politely thanking Lilith before taking a seat, smiling as Lilith sat down next to her. She looked down at the hand, blushing softly and reaching out to rest her other hand atop Lilith's, "Yes, but then again, I'm sure you prefer fresh blood to the blood you keep for later."

She closed her eyes for a moment, swallowing and taking a deep breath before she opened them again. Being this close, feeling that hand on her's, friendly or not, made her realize how sensual and enchanting the vampiress was. She was amazingly attractive, and she would have given anything to share a night with her. It was only then that she found herself staring at Lilith and her lovely form, and she quickly cleared her throat.

"Umm.. well.. How have you been lately? I have not seen you as often, though I ascribe that to my staying in my room," She frowned a little, shrugging, "I recently turned 30.. and well, I've been feeling old. I wish I didn't, but the captain and the others are all younger, except for the Elf, that is."

She chuckled a bit, looking up at Lilith, so young and gorgeous, her cheeks flushing as she realized what she whispered out, "My god, you are truelly beautiful."

Rhannon watched him as he talked and decided that reserved judgement would be her best corse of action. He was right tho if he had wanted he could have taken what ever was inside of her and ended her life, but he hadnt.

To take it could mean death for you. And unlike some, I'm not willing to put the blood of more upon my hands. She didnt know what it was but something about his statment caused her to think there was more to him than his gruff demenor and attitude.

I was right to call you wise one. It will be hard for me to trust you, and even tho our reasions for wanting to know more about what ever is inside of me are different. Then we will have to work together.

Lilith felt the heat of the woman's hand ontop of hers, felt the blood coursing through her veins. It was an intoxicating feeling, her body shuddered impeceptibly. She smiled as the woman spoke on about fresh blood. And age, something the living were always concerned about. "You forget I am much older then you my dear.." she managed before she heard the woman whisper about her beauty. Her cheeks nflushed slightly as she leaned forward, the neck of her robe open enough to give the woman a hint of pale breast.

"Is that so?" her free hand caressed the side of the woman's face gently.
