If a Democrat President had proposed this, anti Trumpers would be talking Nobel Peace prize and carving a new face on Mount Rushmore.

But because Trump is in favour of it, now they have to pretend it's a bad thing. 🤭😄🤣

Because once we pull our forces back normality might cost them more than 1% to maintain a credible deterrent. Even assuming the good intentions of all involved it's still foolish to dress yourself like a Christmas turkey and tempt fate.

I don't think defense contractors will suffer. They're way behind now. Perhaps streamlining and cutting spending will help the DOD finally pass an audit. I would venture a guess that there's 25% waste fraud and abuse within the DOD.

Trump is transactional. He supports what gets him to next week.

Currently, he's handing over Ukraine to the Russians and discussing invasion of NATO allies and other allies.

Hopefully it gets streamlined and as efficient as possible. US doesn't need such massive spending it does now, just enough to ensure secure borders and sovereignty. After all, got a couple huge moats around our continent already. 😛
 
I'm not sure which is more pathetic: that the Trumpies think this is some sort of "gotcha" for the Dems, or that they think Trump has any chance of actually convincing Xi and Putin to reduce their military budgets. (He will have no problem getting them to say they will do that, but...)
