When, earlier this week, it was announced that Trump wanted a big honking parade in Washington, D.C. the number of people that I didn’t expect to come unglued literally shat themselves. You’d have thought that the end of the world had just been announced. Dan Spencer and I took the same view, more or less.

Before Trump was president, having a military parade wasn’t considered a threat to the republic, in fact, it was considered to be rather unremarkable.

In 2014, Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., called for a welcome home ticker-tape parade for veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, calling it a “longstanding American tradition.”

“With the war in Afghanistan winding down, now is the time to keep with longstanding American tradition and kick off a campaign for the first New York City welcome home parade for troops that served in Iraq and Afghanistan,” Schumer, now the Senate minority leader, said, according to The New York Daily News.

Utter bullshit, hardly worth a response. Progressives have long called for increased benefits. So-called 'conservatives' tend to abandon vets -- after starting needless wars.

You want a generalization? "The Left" wants a reduction in the NEED for vets' benefits. This is on Dubya's plate, y'know. The world is still paying the cost of his installation by a corrupt SCOTUS. Rewarding luzers doesn't work well.

How much support has the parade proposal gathered? What say veterans' groups? Who favors it? How many who have actually worn a uniform and carried a weapon to defend our nation think a parade is a good idea, better than than adequately funding and running the VA? Will homeless vets love a parade? Will Kim be impressed?

Yes, Cadet Bone-Spur is our CiC and can certainly order the military to do anything lawful and some that ain't. POTUS wants a parade, he can and will have a parade, the YUUGEST parade EVER in HISTORY! And it'll be gilded. Will POTUS wear a red presidential sash across his tailored suit?
