False. UDA routinely targeted civilians with no link to militant groups, whose only crime was being Catholic (or, sometimes, mistaken for Catholic, or standing too close to a Catholic). The vast majority of the hundreds killed by UDA were civilians.

Along the way, the UDA also killed quite a few Protestants, either because they didn't care who they killed as long as at least some of them were Catholics, or in internal infighting. They killed one of their own just last month.



I happen to believe that the near-eradication of terrorism in Northern Ireland makes it less "fucked up" than it was before Good Friday, but I'm aware that not everybody shares my "terrorism bad" viewpoint.

You must be a crazed taig if all you care to do is spread falsehoods about the UDA. The IRA and Sinn Fein are the terrorists and the whole world knows it. The good friday agreement allowed IRA/Sinn Fein terrorists to have input in government, which is a hell of a lot worse than pre good friday.

Actually I'm an atheist child of a Catholic/Protestant marriage, and my main position on Northern Irish politics is "people being murdered is bad". If that makes me "crazed", so be it.

All of which is irrelevant, because nobody here was defending IRA/SF, nobody is proposing to form a coalition of government with Sinn Féin, and there's no law of logic that says "if IRA are terrorists then UDF aren't".

They are both terrorist organisations who used one another to justify their own murders. You don't need to take my word for that; the UK Government identifies the UDA, UFF, and UVF as proscribed terrorist organisations alongside the IRA etc.
