will the Uk gov give the people a new brexit referendum?

Looks like another vote failed, so now if May isn't successful in begging for more time from the EU, it might be a hard break from the EU on April 12. I hear the EU just might tell Brits to take a walk.

The Customs Union crowd and the 2nd Referndum crowd are trying to combine for the indicative vote on Monday. That actually stands a reasonable chance of getting a majority.

May's plan has failed three times, don't they have to come up with something different. What are the chances of that happening in the time remaining?

No-one knows. Most likely outcomes are an extension to A50 for a longer period, maybe a year. In which case the UK will have to hold EU parliamentary elections in July. Or a GE in the UK. Default is crash out in 14 days time with no deal, which only extreme right wing morons think is a good idea.

The sole advantage of No Deal is it is the only thing that people have been planning for.

It would end the uncertainty but in a bad way.

I think its a great idea. its what this country needs to stimulate the left into an armed uprising.

.

And camps can be set up to inter eastern european types.

I never voted for a deal, I voted to leave.

Democracy died today the whole country fucked by a bunch of elected individuals who don't respect the people.

Surely this dead woman walking has to go now! We're effectively a country without a functioning government.

With any luck we'll get a longer extension so we can figure out what the fuck we want and find someone capable.

Ya know, I'm finally coming around to the idea.....anything has to be better than paralysis!

Woof!

You do know that "the people" elected this minority government under the manifesto of leaving with a deal though don'tcha!

Fuck me mate, do I have to break it to ya, it doesn’t matter a fuck what you thought you voted for?

Leave is ambiguous and you don’t get to define it after the fact!

The election afterwards was specific and we could’ve elected Farage to carry out a no deal……..if he hadn’t already turned on his heels and run!

Woof!

Then the people should’ve voted in a UKIP government, but they didn’t so here we are!

That’s British parliamentary democracy, which you seem not to understand!

Both Labour and Conservative parties agreed to implement the Brexit result and voted for Article 50.

watching this thread is comedy gold and highly educational.

watching people who possibly do have a grip in the real world convincing themselves that anyone, other than the ruleing elite, will come out of this mess in anything other than dire straits.

the leave campaign was based on lies and yesterday quietly gave up its right to appeal against being found in contempt of election rules by hiding where its funding came from during its campaign - and thats without mentioning the bus.

daily mail approves of this.

the far right continues its rise.

Democracy is fucked. We need something new because this isn't working, so here's some dire straits

How is "Democracy" fucked by all this nonsense?

Complete paralysis, lack of leadership, failure to represent. We have a single party that's been "in power" since 2010 and led us into the biggest clusterfuck the nation has ever faced since ( historians consult ancient texts ) and we have a feckless opposition party that has made itself unelectable with shameful bigotry and in-fighting. No party is electable right now. Call a general election?? WTF for? So yes - our version of democracy is down the pan.

The Labour Party is as split as the Conservatives. Their official line has been that they support Brexit but only their version which the EU has consistently has said is not acceptable. So far their only line has been to oppose anything else.

The deal proposed by Mrs May gives Labour what they SAY they want but because it is a Conservative deal - Labour oppose it.

If there is to be a General Election who do we vote for? The two major parties who have said they support Brexit but can't deliver it? The Liberal Democrats who have consistently said they are against Brexit? UKIP who have moved too far to the right? A new party started by Farage as a more sensible UKIP? A new split-from-Labour party? Or none of the above?

The Official Monster Raving Loony Party looks like the best of the lot. From their website:

Brexit Proposals
13th March 19

We will Send Noel Edmonds to negotiate Brexit because he understands Deal or No Deal.
There will be no need for a backstop to the Brexit negotiations. We’ll have Alec Stewart as wicket-keeper.

Yes there was it may not have been on the ballot paper but it was all anyone talked about on the campaign trail. Don't you remember?
"They need us more than we need them, who else is going to buy all the French cheese." Boris
"I don't see anything wrong with the Norway deal, but we'll do better than that we're looking at Canada plus." Nigel Farage.

"Of course they'll give us a deal, look at all the German cars we buy. The German car manufacturers will be leaning heavily on Angela Merkel to get us a good deal.' Nigel Farage.

That and all the wonderful deals we were going to make were all they talked about.

Here we are two weeks to go we have no EU deal We will automatically lose 70 EU trade deals that we had through EU membership, but look on the plus side we have negotiated a post-Brexit deal with Fiji and Tonga. Looks like it's all going swimmingly.

I would say that Parliament represents the people quite well. The country can't agree on what they want from Brexit and neither can the politicians. who says Cameron is stupid? he was smart enough to clear off and leave others to clear up the mess he made.

ukip and farage were ALWAYS too far to the right

Not for Daily Mail readers

Cameron should be exiled - somewhere that serves pork would suit him. He has all the 'smartness' of an arsonist and deserves the same treatment
