Oldest daughter's birthday today... There is now an official teenage daughter in the family!

And a snowy and frosty day ahead. Not too bad.

Happy birthday to your daughter! Hope she has a fabulous one!

I was so excited for my 13th birthday - my parents wouldn’t let me get my ears pierced until then, unless, the joke was, my father did it with an ice pick. So for my 13th birthday, he made me a cake in the shape of an ear with an ice pick stuck in and “blood” dripping down. And people wonder where I got my morbid sense of humor!

The sky is dark and heavy rain forecast here but fingers crossed. We did have a power cut earlier though!

This has been a testing, tiresome and worrisome day overall. I haven't felt as uneasy about the world than I did in the mid '80s.

I think I'll draw a line under today and wish you all a peaceful night.
