Hiya everyone, I overslept.. again. Halfway through a book by Lisa Jewell at the moment. Going to have 'huo guo' tonight for dinner. It translates to hot-pot in english, but it's nothing like the english version. Well, it appears in anime a lot. You know, when there's a lot of raw food and you dunk it all in boiling water? The Japanese are fond of it, and so am I. Especially when you add lots of chilli to the water!

Afternoon all you UK Readers, hope your bank holiday is going great. Myself i'm doing nothing all day today, makes a nice change.

Catch up with you all later.

Currently reading excerpts from Robin Schone novels online. Am now desperate to buy some of her stuff. Damn, I bet I spend more money than I've got, or something.

Morning all.....talking of what your reading, i'm currently reading "First Light", the memoirs of a world war 2 fighter pilot, really interesting book. Not my usual type, i usually either read horror or fantasy books.

Right now I'm re-reading "1066 and all that" a rather British orientated tongue-in-cheek look at history. Apparently history ends when Britain is no longer the most powerful country in the world ;)

I'm also going through my 'teach yourself japanese' books again. I was watching some anime last night and suddenly realised that although i could pick up the odd words, i couldn't get most of the lines because they're talking too quickly. more studying is required...

Well i think its only important history that ends when the empire broke up. :D I'm looking to read more about the great british sailors of the past, suddenly now i'm older history really fascinates me....never liked it at school.

As for languages, i can speak a few words in french and thats about it.....i should really try harder in that respect.

My reading (asides from general fiction) consists of high fantasy and bodice-rippers. A strange combination, certainly, but that's me.

Hi everyone,

Hope you having a good day so far, I had a pretty bad night, didn't sleep well, got a really bad cramp in my right shin and couldn't get rid of it :(

Still all ok now :D

Must be a short book, tat ta ta ta tat, what the fu... sorry just my humour, or lack of it

I've a friend who's recently returned from a holiday in China. She got recommended some manga at the book-store, so she bought some.

Two of them were practically hentai. One of them roughly translates to 'evil demon, angel of love' or something like that.

The storyline is as follows: girl fancies boy, girl summons genie/demon to help her make boy fall in love with her. Demon requests payment: her virginity. She agrees, but then the demon's powers don't seem to work on the boy. Turns out boy is an angel. Angel and demon battle yahdiyah, girl chooses demon. Demon takes her to hell to live with him, she gets jealous of his sex slave thingy, so he makes her one, and so on. You get the drift. It isn't 'hentai' exactly because there is only one picture of a penis, but there's a lot a lot of sex. I'm borrowing it.

Demon-boy is sexy. Saw some pictures of him. Long hair (though dark green). I'm a goner.

This thread is kinda dull. Whoopdy doo, we're all British. Does it really matter?

*LOL* Nice!

Actually it is rather convenient for certain pervy anglophiles in the usa who love you kinky Brits...*innocently looks around*

;)

Bodice rippers, fantasy, same thing. Oh, wait, you mean something else....

You know, I read the other day (can't remember where, might have been in an interview with Emma Holly) that if you have an insatiable desire to read bodice-rippers you're inherently a sub because the male protagonists are alpha male types who are, practically, doms. Which is very apt, I suppose. I don't know if it's just me, but there seems to be more subs than there are doms around. Doms must be in high demand.

Hi everyone,

Hi too to MarlaSinger, sure I seen you just post at a different thread,

Hope everyone is well :D
