Marsipanne, i was reading your profile and i noticed you liked the x-men, especially gambit. Me too!

Why oh why do they not include him in the films, by far the coolest xmen out there.

Woohoo!! X-Men discussion!!

Wolverine is catered to men, I think. He's a man's man. Not many girls like him. The girls like Gambit cos he's sexy, gambles, was a thief etc. etc. If we're talking about brute strength why don't you like, say... Apocalypse? Or Juggernaut? They're powerful. Wolverine's got the 'angry loner' thing down pat, which guys seem to like.

Oh yeah, and did you know, that Gambit and Wolverine had a showdown once in the Danger Room (that's the name, right? I've got a mind-blank) and Gambit won. Used brains over brute force. He's also got a sexy accent.

I also like Rogue.

I should point out that i'm a guy and i'd rather have gambit than wolverine on my side.

Wolverine's the typical action hero type....and he's not that good, whats the use of a metal skeleton against magneto!

But guys, you gotta admit, Mystique would be your ideal woman, the ability to assume any form.....she could have big boobs one day, small ones the next! (sorry to lower the tone of the discussion)

A remake of Superman, ithink thats a bad idea. It seems as if they ar just jumping on the Spiderman band wagon. Apart from spidey, the original Batman and the Xmen, superhero films don't tend to be too good.

I like Wolverine because he seems like the only character with an identity. Cyclops, jean grey, mystique etc... are all characters that run to a traditional and expected format. Wolverine is a much more unpredictable character. Mainly because he's been around and doesn't necessarily buy in to the whole x-man do-gooder philosophy.

As for Gambit, he's french which means that although he may have a nice voice and everything, you wouldn't really want to spend much time with him. (I actually like the french but they can really be quite french at times.) Plus, as a thief this automatically takes him down quite a bit in my estimation of him. In my opinion, thief is always a last option. Especially in fantasy or RPGs. Thief is what you are if you're not strong enough to be a warrior and not smart enough to be a wizard.

Apocalypse may be a strong character but he's not really got any redeemable features. You can even see Magneto's points, but apocalypse is just a psycho.

Mildly interesting facts:
Wolverine first appeared in an episode of HULK and was actually a villain. The character has been a firm fan favorite ever since and Marvel tried to find somewhere to put him, then the X-men came along. Also, Wolverine is meant to have had extensive memory wipes, however he is actually over 150 years old. However, he is not the first mutant. That would be Apocalypse. Also Nightcrawler and Rogue are both the children of Mystique. I guess that a lot of men couldn't resist Mystiques shape changing abilities. Mystique can change her shape and form but she can't actually change her mass. So essentially although she COULD change her shape to the Blob, she would weigh exactly the same. Final points: in the films Wolverine smells Mystique on liberty island in the first movie but doesn't when she enters his tent in the second. The third film should be the Pheonix saga (I hope no-one was gullible enough to believe that Jean Grey was dead). Also, Stan Lee has a written contract that EVERY non-tv film based on the marvel comics characters (e.g. Death of the Incredible Hulk, TV movie) MUST have Stan appearing in the film. Play spot the Stan. Play spot the Bruce Cambell in Spiderman as well. (star of Evil Dead trilogy, popular b-movie actor)

The superman film will inevitably suck if they continue on the plan they were doing last time i heard it. Lex Luthor was a Kryptonian and Clark's parents (kryptonian parents) were still alive...

Watch Hellboy, it rules.

Dont watch The Punisher when it comes out, it sucks.

Catwoman is agony to watch and I would rather cut off and eat my own testicles than watch it again.

P.S. Halle Berry has pulled out of the X-men films because she has a massive head and thinks they should make Storm a bigger part. I hope that the film-makers just laughed in her face and told her to sod off.
