You wouldn't believe the 'person' (blond/e one) is actually Japanese. Yup, Japanese. That's another clue. The name written on the bottom is 'Hyde', which is kinda unisexual.

Chen Ling's the character's name. The actor is called zaizai or Zhou YuMin. Say Zaizai to Chinese girls, and if they're anywhere up to date with Chinese popular culture, they'll know who he is. If not Zaizai 100% F4. If they don't know F4, they're really out of it. It's like not knowing who Britney Spears is, or David Beckham. F4 is THAT big.
And Zaizai looks NOTHING like Jet Li. Not now, anyway.. saw Hero the other day, made me cry.

I used to have a crush on Jet Li, when I was 8, 9 or so. From watching 'Huang Fei Hong' aka 'Once Upon a Time in China'. He was so cool... Jet Li isn't half as good-looking or sexy.
Chen Ling is just a bit crazy, his one bad thing. Before he went to mental hospital, he was really, really cool. After getting together with Qiluo, he's God. Once all the mental Freudian stuff is sorted out, his personality is beautiful. Before, there's all this inherent evil and 'I killed my brother' business, but after he gets his mind sorted out, he's just so....guh. I want a ChenLing!!

Meteor Garden--a love letter to capitalism??
Been thinking about this TV show. So.....infamous!!
It launched careers of biggest band in Asia for 10 years: F4 (even though they can't sing apart from one member).
The male lead became super-popular, and everybody thinks he's like his TV show character. Let's see what his character's like:
Super-rich
Super-super-rich
Good-looking
Arrogant
Confident
Bad-tempered
Abusive
Self-centered
Mean
Right... he gets better later on, when he falls in love. But meanwhile? He nearly gets the female lead raped, then he almost rapes her. He also ruthlessly bullies her for ages, and incites others to bully her. He also thinks he can 'buy' her with gifts.
Hm. BUT. When he wants to go on a date with a girl he really likes, he waits four hours in the rain, and contracts a fever. Really very sweet.
Bloody arrogant guy though. EVERYBODY was in love with him, or Lei (played by Zaizai).
My friend's mother asked me 'who do you like better? A si or Lei?' I said 'Lei' (because he's better-looking) and she said 'I like looking at him too'.
HA. It's funny how somebody who can't even play a single musical instrument becomes a very successful pop star. And he's never had acting lessons, and he's a very successful actor. Acting part is talent though, must say.

I've had a mad stomach bug since last week, been suffrin while going to work and doing what I gotta do.
But its football night so I have something to look forward to!
I've been listening to a musician called Jason Mraz recently. Totally unheard of in the UK but he's got an amazing voice. His live recordings are incredible. I wish I could sing like him.

I don't like chick-lit. The characters are way too predictable. They're more like caricatures. Manga rules!!!
Naruto, anybody? Apparently it's brilliant, but is it too male-orientated for me to enjoy? Thing is, shoujo works better as manga, shonen works better as anime.
Ask For More, I realised why your username was on the other forum--it's the name of one of F4's albums (I think!!). I may be guilty of watching a LOT of MG quite soon... and going 'squee!' over Dao Ming Si (if only he looked like Zaizai!!). And I'll avoid MG2 like the plague.
