anyway what are all these shows you're talking about? are they anime or live action? Chinese or Japanese. My chinese sucks but my japanese gets better with every anime i watch

I prefer anime to manga anyway. Learning Kanji is on my 'To do' list but at the moment I still cant read a word of it. Anyway, I've not finished with the japanese yet (he says mentioning it again (what can i say? I love learning it, its such a cool language. And its a hell of a lot easier than mandarin or cantonese) )

Naruto, anybody? Apparently it's brilliant, but is it too male-orientated for me to enjoy? Thing is, shoujo works better as manga, shonen works better as anime.

Ask For More, I realised why your username was on the other forum--it's the name of one of F4's albums (I think!!). I may be guilty of watching a LOT of MG quite soon... and going 'squee!' over Dao Ming Si (if only he looked like Zaizai!!). And I'll avoid MG2 like the plague.

Naruto is good, it has a lot of strong female characters in it so I don't think it would put you off that much. You must be patient though, the first sorta 10 episodes a bit slow, it picks up for 10-40, slows down a bit again and 60 onwards is awesome!

I think my favourite series at the moment is One Piece, really orginal and loads of scenes where I almost cried with laughter.

F4 has an album called Ask for more? DOOOOOH!!!!

Hello and welcome to Benyb55 hope you'll have fun posting here at this thread

Not gonna be able to post again afetr this, going to be staying with me friend who's moving to Australia tomorrow im going with her to the airport to say goodbye but she asked me to sleep over with her over at her house tonight so we won't be late, were getting up at like 4 : 30am

So don't know how much i'll be about tomorrow but hope i'll get on at some point to see how everyone is!!

New crush alert!!
He's called Sam, and is divinely beautiful. Seriously. Looks Eurasian. Perfect skin, beautiful eyes, beautiful hair. I've only seen him 3 times in my whole life, and I've never spoken to him, but I know him because I'm friends with a girl whose brother knows him.

Problems with him:

1. Too young. He's 15/16 I think.
2. Playboy. Grew so pretty that his sweetness vanished and was replaced by self-centred bitch.
3. Has a girlfriend (whose older sister I know, quite randomly!), also a bitch.

That's all I know so far.

Oh and also....

my favourite anime has been translated into English!!!!! Detective Conan, known as 'Case Closed' here, has been airing in America. This was the anime that got me interested in general. It's done pretty well, apparently. It's been referred to as 'the hit series Case Closed'. 'Megahit' at one point, but I'm not sure if that was referring to the success here or in Japan.

Conan is a very long-running anime. 8 year, 350+ episodes, 8 movies (the latest hit no.1 at japanese box office), many manga books..

Obviously with this kind of success you'd expect it to get here earlier. However, Conan's really hard to market, since it's a cartoon that's got lots of violence. You either A) cut out violence, market it as kids stuff or B) keep the violence, air it late, and try and sell it as adult.

They did B), and it was a GOOD idea. It's got really good reviews by customers on amazon. However, it airs at around 11, 12 pm on Adult Swim (replacing Cowboy Bebop) which is rather late.. considering that this is 7-year old boys staple in Japan and China etc.
