I shiver slightly at the touch of the cool metal despite her worming it before touching me with it. I smile at her expansion of why we where getting the physical “No problem Dr. Williams I under stand completely.” I breathe in deeply a few times for her as I look her up and down from the corner of my eye. I think I defiantly wasn’t expecting the Doc to be this good looking and her nice theirs something about her that makes me want to scratch her behind the ears. I shake my mental head thinking that’s an odd thought.

I look at the Doc I have a few more things to bring up from my house bout. I smile at the look on her face when I mention it “I tend to get sick of being arund people some times so when that happens I get on that and I go out to the middle of the ocean and relax in peace and quite. I shrug “Know what Mama.”

"Well Scott, that is fine with me as long as you stay within sight of the compound alright? While working here we can't exspose you to outside influences. Breath again please." I pushed his gown down and put the stethescope to his chest and listened to his lungs and heart beat.
"Perfect."
Setting the scope down, I picked up his chart and went over the list of things I wanted to know.
"Any allergies? Kidney problems, lung problems, heart? Liver? Any blood diseases run in your family? Know your blood type? Function fully? Meaning sexually incase you don't understand that part. Any sleep problems? Eating disorders or bad temperments?" I paused to let him answer.
"Alright now I need a blood sample and we're done." I smiled at him and put the tie on his arm. Tightening it, I brought out the needle and tube.
"You aren't afraid of needles are you?"

“NO, no, no, no, no, and no, type O and yup.” I answer with out hesitation and smile as she asks if I’m afraid of needles. I shake my head saying no not afraid of them at all. I hole out my arm for her watching as my blood flows in to the vile. I look up at her. I feel my face go hot as I can see down her lab coat and blows as she leans down to check the blood. I look away then trying to make my face go back to normal.

I reach over and pet the Doctors cat absently as she dross some more blood. I ask “So what kind of animals shall I be taking car of on this dutiful island paradise.”

"Well then, all is set.." I finished up the blood sample and smiled at him."We have all kinds of animals in the pen. Horses, cats, larger felines as well. Wolves, bears, raccoons, snakes, apes. A very large asortment of animals.. I am sure you won't ever get bored here.." I righted myself and turned to place the blood into a cooler and turned back.
"well all done here, just get dressed and go find Jaenelle and she will show you to the housing area. you will have your own room and free run on the property on your days off. Need anything Scott, just come to me and I will see what I can do alright?" I left the room and knocked on Reggie's door.
"Are you ready for me yet Reggie?"

I got up and paced the floor as I waited. A short while later a knock resounded on the door, and I heard Dr. Williams voice on the other side.
"Yes I am ready." I choked out. I wasn't really ready at all, not knowing what to expect. She entered the room and I sat back down. "This won't hurt will it? I have never had a physical before." I sat there looking at her wringing my hands.

"Good morning Reggie, and no this won't hurt. I do however have to take a blood sample, I hope you can handle that?" I paused wondering if she would make it through this without fainting on me?
I had better just take it slow and easy on her, get her comfortable and see what happens from there.

I quickly put my stuff back on and I pick up the cat agene still felling comforted by him. I walk out the door and look arund wondering where Jaenelle is at. I walk down the hall looking arund figuring I would bump in to her eventually. That or I would fined my own way to my rooms. I put the black cat up to my face quietly mewing to him as he bats he paws at my face playfully.

"Take blood?" I said hesitantly. I hated that, but if it was what the job required I would do it. "I think I can manage that and let's see...I don't honestly know about hardly any of these, the only family I have is my sister and she doesn't know about any of these things. Is that a problem?" I paused for a moment then continued "As for allergies I have but one and that is some fruits. No to menopause, fainting spells, sleep disorders, eating disorders. No to knowing my blood type, and to irregular periods."
I blushed slightly "Yes I do function fully..."
I took a deep breath and looked away. Hoping that maybe there was some way to test for the things I did not know about, and I wouldn't be sent away.

"alright, well we can find those things out in time Reggie." I held the stethescope to her back and told her to breath deeply, then moved to the front. I again listened to her heart beat and her lungs.
"well you look healthy so far.." I smiled gently.
"ok let's get the blood sample and Jaenelle can see you to your rooms, if she hasn't anrchied off of the island on me already.. She's a little tempermental lately."i chuckled, hoping to put Reggie at ease, but the poor girl seemed more stressed. Girl? hell she wasn't much younger than I was.
Inserting the needle I got a sample of her blood and quickly stored it away.
"Alright you are free to get dressed now and settle in. You need anything dont hesitate to ask me and I will see what I can do. You will have two days off a week, and you have free movement on the Island. We wont allowe you to go to the mainland again until this is all said and done. Can't risk contamination of you. I am sure you will like it here.." I smiled and thanked her for coming and walked back out. Locating my cart, I pulled off the hormone shot I needed for Jaenelle.
"Jaenelle?" I pressed the intercom and called her name.
"Please come to the lab."

I was relieved that she didn't imediately send me back and found someone else. After all I couldn't help it if I didn't know these things.
Breathing deeply as she asked was not a problem, it allowed me to let go and quickly pass through the rest. I had heard her speaking and took in all the information, but was far enough away that I didn't feel the prick of the needle.
With the physical over, a few can's and can't's set down, She thanked me and left the room.
Dressing quickly, I sat back down just rested and waited for Jaenelle to come. My journey was long and tiring so to sit here wouldn't be all that bad.

"Yeah, I guess this'll do."
Nick took a long look at the compound before him. Several buildings, apart from the house. Some very nice places for the animals to live and run in. Seemed like someone funded a pretty penny for all this.
It was absolutely amazing.
Nick picked up his breifcase, with most of his papers in there. Thebulk of it was being sent later, but this was something to start with.
Seemed like they have just about everything here. Mostly mammals, if he wan't mistaken, but a various assortment of other animals as well. Even a few types of birds.
Very nice indeed.
He looked back over his shoulder, at the beach thundering back at him. Waves crashing against the beautiful beach. It was a paradise, that was for sure.
He loved to go swimming, and he'd probably do it more than once a day. If he could ever get settled in with everything. Where was everyone anyway? From what he heard, there were supposed to be a bunch of people here. He hadn't seen a soul though.
Carefully, Nick made his way around back.

I wander threw the building looking for ether Jaenelle or my living quarters witch ever comes first. I spot a door with light seeping threw the cracks obviously a way out. I open it and step threw taking a deep breath of the fresh air and I catch the sent of animal. I look arund smiling at the varies animal that are visible from hear. I move over to the fence forgetting about finding the girl or my rooms as I watch the animal.

I tern my head as I her gravel crunching under some once foot steps my eye fall on a man holding a brief case who seemed to be looking for some one. I sye in weirdly not rely wanting to talk to some one I didn’t know but then I didn’t know any one her and I would get to know them all rather more closely I probably would like before all is down.

I walk up to him calling out “Hey there looking for Dr. Williams.” I hold out my had to shake as I reach him the cat sill in my other arm peering contentedly. I smile slightly and say “She’s in side giving all the new arrivals physicals she just finished with me. I’m her to help with the animal I’m studding to be an egzodick animal vet and researcher.”

Arlette stood up as the boat arrived the island... she was glad to leave the old, about to sink boat she had afforded to rent for a ride, besides she did not like the looks the " captain " and only crew man gave her... made her edgy... Anyway she was here, away from school, friends, family and everything else she knew...

Arlette thanks the man of the boat and walks down a road and towards a house which she assumes is her new working place... she thinks bck to all the questions the lawyer had asked her before signing a silcence contract... the only thing she wanted was to have some time to herself, she expected to have some time off to lie down at the beach, read a book... just relax...

She finally reaches the front door, drops her bag to the floor and rings the bell, waiting for an answer...

** Too easy**

I floated suspended from the ceiling in my truss. my HUD goggles had picked up no motion sensors and i had taken out the laser system earlier. As well as sending the cameras into a continous loop.

DNA sequences . thats what they wanted.

I had been hired by a foregn industrialist who didnt want to be named, and for thee money he paid me he could remain, unamed , to take experimental animal DNA sequences from this remote island lab and back to him.

There was a cool 15 million init for me. the gig of my lifetime.

I reached for the vial marked: Feline -panther and took it up .

Shit.

Damn thing had a connection alram on the fucking vial itself. The alarms were already ringing somewhere, i could pick them up in my earset.

only one option.

Taking the hypo administer laying beside it, i slammed the dna straight into my own blood stream.

Setting the harness on retract i slid back to the ceiling. all the while pulling out the inhibitors and popping myself with them.

3 hours..shit i had three hours to get off the island and back to a lab to stop whatever it was in those vials from affecting me.

i slid into the air vent sealing it behind me.

I wandered to the intercom next the the fridge

"I'll be right there mom" I scooped up the leash to Sophie who had been quite content where she had been. "Sorry girl, the doc is waiting, let go" as I scatched her behind the ears.

I sauntered into the lab

"You needed me?" I saw the needles and cringed. "Already that time huh? I guess so since I was craving the red stuff again." I walked over and took a seat on the stool next to the cart. I watched as the cat slumped at my feet.

"Reggie she was amazing. I hope you don't mind that I gave her a few cubes of raw steak. She was so good I thought she deserved a little treat."

I smiled as Jaenelle came walking into the lab with Reggie's giant kitty.
"Yes it's that time again.. relax your arm.." She knew the drill. I quickly tied off the rubber tie on her arm and inserted the needle into her arm. Injecting her with the chemical's it took to keep her more human than animal. I cursed myself quietly, I was so close to perfection. Just a step or two more and everything would be perfect. Jaenelle was so close, but she kept getting urges to feed like a cat would. Chasing mice for hell's sake. Sighing, I withdrew the needle and rubbed her arm gently.
"There ya go, all done." I smiled and put the needle into the trash.
"What's with the alarms going off in the fridgeration unit? That thing messing up again?" I turned back to Jaenelle and Reggie.
"Will you show her to her sleeping quarters please Jaenelle? I need to go answer the door and find Scott.." She nodded and looked over the new comer.
"Alright, you two have fun, I will see you at dinner time. Oh hell, I forgot to tell everyone we all eat together at the main house. Jaenelle, will you inform them for me?" I glanced at my watch.
"I have a few more assistants arriving sooner or later and I have a vet showing up.. And Luke still hasn't answered the door for me .. Alright I will be back shortly." Turning I walked down the hallway and answered the door.
"Hello?"

I rubbed my arm a bit as I turned back to reggie.

"This way." I lead her back to the assitant's rooms. " I'm sure that you will find your room quite comfortable. It has all the latest TV and DVD stuff to make your stay comfortable. Oh here is Sophie" handing her the leash " If you need anything special for her just ask me and I'll attend to it"

I want off to find the others to tell them what time dinner was to be served

On his way to the boat, he found a different one tied down near the rocks on the side of a cliff. As he looked at it, a huge boulder fell on top of it. He shrugged and walked off. (ooc it was badbabysitter's boat)

After getting the cart with all his stuff on it, the ferryman who brought him here left.

He pushed it all the way back to the complex, a little tired from the work. He hoped he would run into Aunty Rachel or Jaenelle or anyone, but didn't.

After half an hour, he had his room set up.

Leaving his room, he bumped into Jaenelle.

"Sorry bout that. What's going on?"

"Nothing much. Oh, dinner is at 6:30 in the main dinner hall. All of us eat together here on the island. It's right through the lab and down the hall on your right." I said pointing towards it. "You get everything set up all right? If not give me a holler on the intercom and I'll come running"

I really just want to hang out with someone, and she was nice and beautiful, so I just wanted to be in her company.

Strange..... but when I'm with her, I feel like I am dealing with Merle from the Escaflowne series. Maybe it's just the slight feline apperances she has that reminds me of the anime catgirl.

"No problem. I was just going to the lab and then back to my room to relax a bit. It's been a crazy day if you haven't alredy guessed." I turned towards the lab grabbing his hand dragging him with me.

I re-entered the lab with him in tow to wait for the newcomers

"A pleasure, my name's Nick," he shook the man's hand, "I'm not really looking for the doctor, just a place to set everything up for myself. I don't know anything about the experiments or anything, I'm mainly here to make sure none of the animals die."
He gave a half smile, taking a look at the rest of the compound. It was a spectacular place. He had to admit it, even the cages seemed good for the animals.
"Well, I don't know about you, but I'm famished. What's say we try to find some food around here."

I went in finally and gave Luke the same examination I gave everyone else. He checked out fine and I had another blood sample. Things were looking up for me. Smiling I thanked him for coming and left so he could dress.
"Ahh there you are, Brad.. Jaenelle. It's time to get ready for dinner. Would you use the intercom and inform everyone dinner is in thirty minutes? I am sure the chef has something wonderful picked out for tonight." I turned and walked back slowly, smiling at my luck!
I couldn't wait to start giving them small dosages of thermones. And my synthetic mix of animal dna and theirs. Making sure it is compatible before hand though was important as well.
Making my way to my room, I tugged off my lab coat and changed into something more appropriate for dinner tonight. Fixing my make up and letting my hair down, I looked like the proper hostess Henry always complimented me on.
"Let's hook them tonight girl.." I pep talked myself into a good mood and walked back down stairs to the living room. I would wait for everyone to arrive and then go to dinner.
Granted dinner was early, but I would inform them we rose with the sun and slept at night. Saved money on the electricity and generators as well. thirfty and smart my dear Henry was.. I would be the same.

The sheep milled about oblivious to me.

And my arm smarted like a sunufabitch. Goddamn I hated needles.

Slipping past the "radio shack" alarms on the way out was not a freaking problem. But once I got back to my boat,did i realize the problem.

" goddamn south pacific" I cursed under my breath.

rats or monkeys or some stupid shit had gotten to the engine on my zodiac. Fucked it up good.

I took out the srambled radio and spoke briskly into it.

" Situation mildly fubar, need evac"

My team ( 2 others in a yacht) were sitting 12 miles from here waiting for me to return.

" Do you have the cargo?" Was their reply

" Affirmative, unfortunately i'm patient zero..inhibitors have..."

I glanced at my watch

" ..2hours and 13 minutes of potential"

Stony silence.

I could feel my face flushing. Silence was bad.

" this is black cat to litterbox, did you receive?...copy"

A brief pause and my cohort replied

" Affirmative...situation compromised, squall reported within the hour, new objective find new inhibitor...maintain cargo"

My eyes bulged out of my head. Maintain cargo? I had some kind of freaking animalDNA in me and they wanted me to sit here and wait out a storm.

" I repeat..I need immediate evac. Now. Damnit!"

There was an agry sigh
" Not possible , you're on your own Cyn for at least 12 hours..out..."

Static hit me harshly like a slap in the face.

12 hours and I had 2 hours and...11minutes now to find hope. And not get caught.

15 million wasnt worth it if I was chasing catnip toys or if i was a freak.

I smile at the mention of food I motion to the back door saying “Well the food will most likely be in there. And the doc will still want to see you I think she wants to give every one a physical to be sheer no one is sick in case of contamination or something.” I shrug and lead the way in to the building holding the door for Nick.

I lead the way threw the halls stopping when I hear Jaenelle’s voice over the intercom saying that super will be served soon. I smile and lengthen my stride looking over my shoulder to be sheer Nick is still behind me. I fined my way to the living room after only taking one rung tern. I nod at the doc as I see her standing waiting for use. I tern to Nick saying “Nick this is Dr. Rachel Williams Dr. Williams this is Nick.” I then move away from them and I fined a nice plush recliner to sit in while I wait for the rest to show up.
