If you don't want to buy a new vibe, you could turn some music on (at a reasonable level, of course) and pull your covers over the vibe to muffle the sound. You can leave your legs out if it's too warm to be covered completely from the waist down.
But, really, you're only living with these people for a short time, and as long as your vibe's noise isn't bothering them, do you really care if they might hear it? There's no shame in masturbating or using toys, so why worry about it?

If you're worried about the buzzing noise, just use your fingers? I've done that with someone in the same room

It is not a Hitachi and it is not a Wahl...nothing can compare to those in terms of stimulation intensity. My wife likes the strong clitoral stimulation that both of those toys provide so we started a search for a small, discrete unit. We have tried many different vibes and she really likes the Lelo units. Sure she wishes it was stronger...it isn't a Hitachi...but it is the strongest she has found so far. Your mom could pick up the Lelo and ask "what is this...it is so pretty"

I haven't tried a Hitachi before I've heard very good things. I haven't found anything small that packs a punch so I'm definitely looking forward to trying this out!

It really wouldn't bother me or any of my friends. Any body old enough is going o know what it is. I would probably just approachone of your roommates and see if bothered anyone. Course you could do it when your place doesnt have anyone else. Course that takes away spontaneity!

Yummy - Just muffle the sound with a little music or tv. If you don't think that will work, test it yourself. Turn on your vibe, set it on your bed then go outside your room and close the door. If you can hear it, you'll know just how loud to turn up the volume on the white noise to cancel out the vibe.

When you consider how much junky toys cost and what you might spend on several toys to match the multitasking Hitachi, it looks like an even better deal.
Looking at the prices, I see there are some new attachments for the Wand that we may have to get. One's a "triple pleaser" and the other is specifically for prostate stimulation, kind of like a butt plug.
