Vanilla vs non-Vanilla Sex

If this is a definitive list then I am definitely in the French vanilla category. But mostly due to not being exposed to more Neapolitan sexual flavors.

My personal definition of “French Vanilla” is this. I have a great academic interest in all things sexual. I enjoy discussing sex with partners and strangers on the internet. I am open to and willing to do things partners are interested in doing/trying. But my personal desires when it comes to the act lie firmly in the vanilla category.

Lately I've been making gourmet vanilla extract and I have found that the difference between basic store bought vanilla and what can be achieved with premium vanilla beans and other ingredients along with time and patience is huge. And this might be where the analogy starts to work... good sex takes good communication, patience, practice, time.

Excellent vanilla is actually a high bar. And a great base to build on for all the other options on the kink buffet.

If you read some of my other posts, I'd say we're far from vanilla, equally neopolitin. Give us a flavor and we'll give it a try at least once.

There is nothing definitive about my opinion, and it's just that, an opinion. I'm willing to wager that the more distance someone has from "vanilla" then the more things they will categorize as such. Conversely, those that don't experiment, will find many more things off limits or taboo than the less-vanilla crowd.

I agree. For some vanilla will mean once a month, under the covers, lights off. For others vanilla may be anything that doesn't involve 3 or more people (I'm in that camp). Everyone will measure things against their own barograph of normality. You may think BDSM is disgusting but love a bit of spanking as foreplay.
