Oh I know. I wanted to see their interpretation of his character... but alas, It wasnt meant to be.
I think they knew the series wasnt going to be capable of continuing long enough to explore all the books and worlds, so they just picked out a bunch of popular bits. That way they wouldnt get stoned for not doing everything in each book correctly. They just pulled bits from here and there and let you see the characters come to life in a similar but different way.

(and that was my polite way of saying "I loved seeing my faves come to life and hate how they destroyed the books")

haha... well yes. I remember my brain clicking on that part of the story in a little self dialogue that went a lil like this. "Oh..... they will NEVER be together.. ok...".. then I was able to keep from tossing the book out the second story window into the rain.
