Then they have another problem. I got a new comment and vote on a new poem, but the vote didn't get counted. The other two comment votes did count, I think.

I think it got counted. Which ever was done first, the vote (with the stars) or the vote with the thermometer.

ETA: There are times I will read something and vote. Then I will come back at some time in the future and leave my comments. So, in a case like that, the system would have already registered my vote when I first voted on it, and then, several days later, ignored my thermometer vote from my comment.

I don't think the problem was addressed by Laurel's PM to me, but I don't have examples to hand to prove my point.

If anyone else has, please take it up with Laurel and Manu. I Pmed both, Laurel replied. I am one voice in the wilderness.

At this point, I don't think they see a problem. If others contact them with the same issue, perhaps they will revisit it.

Well, at least from my testing, only one vote was registered no matter if I voted first, or commented. I will keep an eye on them to see if the votes are swept.

They seem busy working on changes that no one asked for (the "favorites" page was just restructured).

At least now I understand why a lot of my stories have taken a nosedive.

I haven't submitted anything in over a year, so I was wondering.
This glitch certainly would explain why stories posted in a contest lost points.
I know some Litsters leave a comment on them with the thermometer on 50% on purpose, because it's about the feedback.

My own use is similar. More "harsh" because of the added feedback/gripes/whatever.

I agree with your ETA. But in this case of the new poem PC and thermometer vote, I know for a fact that is how they did it. The comment count changed, but the vote count didn't. Very little time elapsed from when the vote/comment had been posted until I checked the PC, so the odds of an intervening sweep seem quite low, though not impossible. (Only four votes BTW; it could use some help. )
