Voyeurism..is it all that its cracked up to be?

New topic...

Here's one to twist your noodle--

Is voyeurism cheating if you're watching someone other than your spouse? And I mean watching in person, not watching someone in a porno movie or looking at pics on a Web site.

With all things, it depends. It depends on the type of marriage you have. Regardless of the semantics of the situation, it is dependent upon you and your spouse's view and definition of "cheating". This would be different for any given couple.

OK, Ms. Smarty-Pants:D . Apart from moral relativism, does anyone have a PERSONAL opinion on why or why not it would be cheating?

Just trying to keep the thread rockin'... :nana:

Actually, my personal opinion would be...

With all things involving a partner, it is all about full disclosure.
As long as I am aware of things BEFORE they happen, I rarely have a problem with it. It gives me the time to consider and weigh what my true feelings would be about any given situation, and adjust accordingly. If I am made aware of a situation AFTER the fact, I would feel betrayed. Regardless of what transpired, to me it would be cheating. Then again, I base most of my relationships on honesty.. and if we can't discuss and share our fantasies with one another in an open venue.. then we are not meant to be.

Yeah, I'll buy that!

After all, if you have a SO who looks at someone else with 'lust in his heart' (in Jimmy Carter's phraseology), then that could be cause for some concern.

So, the best solution is if you want to be a voyeur, and worry about whether that constitutes cheating on your SO, you should just invite your SO along to watch with you!
