WA State roll call

Thank you, DJ. :rose:

We're fans of many, but Kiona, Badger Mountain/Powers, Barnard Griffin, Tefft, and Hinzerling's ports and sherries stand out. You?
Those are all good labels Erika. I remember a Tagarres JoBerg Riesling that was outstanding a few years back biut I think they were purchased by another winery. Covey Run has also produced some good Rieslings in the past. Although it appears that I am favoring the whites, I have more recently appreciated the Cabs and the Merlots in this region as well as the Cab/Merlot blends which are outstanding. I wish you good tasting when you come this way. If it's on a Saturday, I'm working. Otherwise we might lift a glass together and say Hi at a friendly winery. Good Cheer!

Yeah, I haven't heard of or seen Tagarres, but am a fan of most rieslings. :) Actually, I can only drink wines that don't come into contact with oak (apart from fortified), so I'm always on the lookout for great whites. If you taste some exceptional ones, let me know...I write them down, but there are just so many great choices and my indecisive nature doesn't help any!

Does Covey Run have a public tasting room?

This conversation is way to highbrow for me;) now if you start talking about cars count me in:)

If you like blends, I would highly recommend a Mak 2001 Coonawara..... you can get them & read about them here....

GO COUGS! and besides swtcum, I don't think I know anyone else from eastern Washington on Lit? If some of you are just lurking and don't want to come out in here, you can always PM me. I'd really like to know how many eastsiders are here?

Hey Dr. Joe. I think there are more of us East Siders than you think. Quite a few in the Spokane /Tri-cities area. I always laugh when I read an article in the Seattle paper referring to the eastside only to discover they are talking about Bellevue ,Renton ,Issaquah ,etc.

Thanks, Calvin. :rose: We tend to like the smaller NW wineries, but it's always good to try something new.

If you, Joe, or anyone else likes something a little different, Honeywood's (Salem) fruit wines are incredible. We went tasting in OR for about a year and a half ago, and I'm itching to get back down there to get some more of our favorites!

Calvin, I just posted to our get together thread because it kind of came to a stand-still. I threw some topics up there for thought and discussion, and hope for lots of participation on those, and anything else you all might be thinking about. They're just a starting point based on a little research, but please feel free to bring up others. :) Let's get together and start chatting in there, and then we can start a more concrete planning thread, if need be.

I also think it's important to get the word out, so if we see NW newbies or oldies who may not find it on their own, let's link 'em in case they might be interested. My little sig link has drawn a few from some of the other forums, so that might be an easy way to go since a lot of us frequent different areas. Plus, things move so quickly in Personals/the PG that it makes it easy for ME to find again! :D

So Borg3of4..where do you hail from? If there are any Litsters from the Spokane area, I haven't had the pleasure of their compnay yet. Anyone else from Tri-Cities, Yakima, Walla Walla, Wenatchee Ritzville, Pullman, or other places in between?

Sigh, been a long time since I posted.... :)

Hello from the south end... :)

Hi fulie and faulty. Not much new here, though we have been discussing a spring or summer Litogether . Pop on over if you're interested. :)

HI all

Was reading the posts about wine tasting, sounds fun, although I'm not much or a wine type. I do enjoy the various micro breweries anround the NW though. Makes for a fun bike trip. Anyone have a favorite microbrewery?

Hi all! Just adding my name to the WA roll call. Nice to see how many fellow Lit members are local.

Lucky Lab Brewery.

Magical holidays, ok. Warm, not so ok. It's nearing 40 and rainy in Spokane....all our snow is washing away. Crap.

:)

Merry Christmas all!

Yes, I said it, not Happy Holidays but Christmas.
Deal with it. :)

I hate that; it's so beautiful, and then everything turns so ugly! Well, warmth in your home and heart are way better anyway, so hopefully you'll have that despite the puddles. :rose:
