Wake up Wisconsin!!

Go east. Kettle Moraine State Forest will be full of color in another week or two. Or north, which is what I prefer.

I like North too. I am going to hike St Peters Dome as soon as my peeps on the Chequamegon Bay tell me the colors are in full splendor....

Good choice. By the way, black bears are more afraid of us than we are of them.

The spray is not really for bears... I am not afraid of bears. I lived around them my entire life. We always had places in the woods. I remember having bears on our deck with a mere screen separating us from them. We never once had an incident with them

Opps. Gotcha. Let me know how your outing goes.

Just got back from Los Angeles (originally from there, but there for work - basically every Monday, come home Thursday). I have to say, I don't miss it. Nothing like Wisconsin, so much nicer here (no drought, not as crowded or expensive, and the fall feels like the fall)!

Anyway, all this talk about hiking all over the place, checking out the colors... I need to go find a place to get lost for a few hours!

Will do OD! I am hoping to find a little time this weekend but life is demanding. We need to put up some more wood for the winter so that will take up Saturday and I REALLY need to get to the shop and do some work there on Sunday...Then back to the grind on Monday.

Welcome back! What part of Wisconsin are you in?

I don't mind travel at all! I was actually up in the Merrimac (sp?) area recently and saw the road to Devil's lake. My thoughts were, this is going to be gorgeous when the leaves change. I also noticed the hiking trail signs and was contemplating doing that. Not as much fun alone but taking my camera, a day of solitude can be fun too. Plus, you never know who you are going to meet on the trail...which is why I carry bear pepper spray with me. :D

I'm more than happy to play tour guide if you'd like sometime. Like I said, I'm a bit of a hiking nerd (I did a 70 mile backpacking trip in the Sierra's this summer), and I try to get out as often as possible once the leaves start changing.

Devil's Lake! I remember doing some rock climbing there I think...

It's a very popular rock climbing spot. Not something I've partaken in myself, but it's a really beautiful area, and now that the kids are back in school, it's a lot more deserted :)

Only trees that are down by natural causes.....never the good ones!

Thanks! I'm in Kenosha. You're in Madison?

I think I can go get a pumpkin spice latte and enjoy this weather later today. The nice part about working from home on Friday :)

I am! Lucky you working from home!

I would love that!! I like hiking a lot. Have never went to the extremes you have though

Glad I missed it. That's a sports team that will never win a big game.

Trying to find a spot on the milwaukee area to watch the Texans and colts tonight. I'll be busy the second half of the Packers game so I would rather stay out and get to watch some football today. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I know all about putting up wood (double entendre intended.) Anyway... I'm doing the same today. Hope you're ready for winter. And what part of Utopia are you in (within 100 miles)?

Greater Milwaukee area. And I caught my typo. I was looking at the week one Sunday night schedule. Ended up watching the last 8 or so minutes and the ot at bdubs. Missed the second half of the Packers game too.

I am in the madison area. We are far from done with the firewood...

My brain is a little fury today or else I would attempt a witty flirt that has something to do with you coming to help put my wood up and I would return the favor, but, yeah, pain meds

You know... I think that works as a flirt, especially through the lens of the meds. I'll help you put the wood up.... um, wait now...
